Penang’s Most Peaceful Budget Spot

#cheaptravel Kek Lok Si Temple was one of the calmest and most beautiful places I visited during my budget trip to Malaysia. I didn’t need to spend a lot to enjoy it. Most areas were free to enter, and even the funicular tram ride to the big goddess statue cost less than a normal café drink! It felt peaceful walking around the halls, looking at the lanterns and statues, with cool breezes brushing through. I brought my own water and snacks, so I didn’t even spend on food here. Just good walking shoes and a curious heart were enough. The photos I got here were amazing too—especially the giant Kuan Yin statue and the view from above. If you want a budget-friendly yet meaningful spot in Penang, this temple should be at the top of your list.
