Tower used as exhibition hall

Walking tour in the Spanish Central Plateau ~ Teruel (region) The Doña Branca Tower is located next to the Santa Maria Church. Together with the main fortress and the Andado Tower in the north, it was part of the city's defense system. It is said to have been built on the site of an old Muslim tower, as recent archaeological excavations have revealed remains of ceramics of Arab origin. In the 17th century it was transformed into the library of the Dominican convent, occupying the current cemetery, of which the neighbouring Church of Santa Maria is also a part. In 2001, the Santa María de Albarracín Foundation restored it to its original defensive appearance. Today it is used as an exhibition hall. #AprilDestinations2025 #SpainTravel #Aragon
