The bed was terrible had a terrible night the mattress was so worn out it completely squashed together as I sat on the bed. When I reported it to reception the lady informed me that they were being replaced but for us not soon enough! Sadley as everything else was ok
I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Days Inn by Wyndham Tewkesbury Strensham, and overall, my experience was quite satisfactory.
Firstly, the location of the hotel is convenient, situated just off the M5 motorway, making it easily accessible for travelers. The proximity to major routes makes it a practical choice for those on a road trip or needing a stopover.
Upon arrival, I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. They efficiently checked me in and provided all necessary information about the hotel facilities and local amenities.
The room itself was clean and well-maintained, albeit slightly basic in terms of decor. However, it had all the essential amenities one would expect, including a comfortable bed, TV, coffee-making facilities, and a clean bathroom. The Wi-Fi connection was reliable throughout my stay, which was a plus for staying connected.
One aspect that stood out was the breakfast offered at the hotel. Although it was a simple continental spread, the options were sufficient to start the day, and the quality of the food was decent.
While the hotel doesn't offer extensive facilities like a gym or swimming pool, it serves its purpose as a convenient stopover for travelers looking for a comfortable night's rest without unnecessary frills.
In terms of value for money, I found the pricing to be reasonable considering the convenience and comfort provided by the hotel.
In conclusion, I would recommend Days Inn by Wyndham Tewkesbury Strensham to travelers seeking a no-fuss accommodation option with easy access to major routes and a pleasant overall experience.
We have stayed here several times and fed back to managers about the poor state of the tables & chairs in the breakfast area. Although my feedback (with photos) was not acknowledged, on our last visit just before xmas, we noticed the badly stained and chipped tables had been replaced or refurbished, and the badly stained and dirty seating had been cleaned and/or replaced, so that it now feels comfortable to sit on them. So I'm pleased my feedback may have contributed to these much needed changes.
However the window frames in our room were in a terrible state, covered in black mould and in desperate need of repair or replacement. Not a healthy presence to have anywhere. So hopefully this review will be seen by the right person/people and acted upon.
They should provide slippers in room which will help customers and the club house to maintain the carpet in room. Clean and cosy room and best view is the small balcony facing a small lake. A small fridge add to the room will be better.
Really enjoyed the stay here, in the countryside, quiet.
My room was phenomenal, a suite with separate seating area and TV with a super comfy bedroom.
Decor was in great condition and the view over the river was stunning.
Food in the restaurant was good and a bargain price with the 10% discount you receive for staying there.
Staff were great warm and friendly.
Would definitely stay here again.
The Abbey is a very lovely hotel, set in beautiful surroundings. It’s clean and inviting. The bedrooms are spacious and I have to say the bed is the most comfortable that I’ve slept in at a hotel and believe me I’ve stayed at numerous hotels across the world.
The staff are welcoming, polite and professional. They’re very accommodating. I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is almost next to the bus station. The bus is convenient, the rooms are clean, the bathrooms are large, and they are cleaned every day. There is no elevator and it is troublesome to carry luggage up. The waiter is often absent, which is not good.
Please note that there are very few bus trips on the Cotswolds on Saturday. There is no bus on Sunday. The day I arrived there was no bus on Sunday. .
The so-called public transportation ticket can only be used for this route. If a loop is to be formed, you do not need to buy a pass. 801 is used more. I took 606 from Broadway to Chippenham, then changed to 501, and then changed to 505 to Bibury, so I can leave early, if I go to Morton Ingam and change trains then 10 am Only. When arriving at the place where you live, you must first find out the bus time point and plan the route, because their bus time is fixed and less.
In short, getting to where you live helps to save time by figuring out the bus route.

AAnonymous UserAn amazing building with historical connections. The bathroom was good, with deep bath and good mains water pressure. But the bedroom needed serious update. No mains lighting in the bedroom or hallway, just plug in side lights by the bed and a standard lamp on old fashioned round pin plug in hall. I had to use a torch to move round the bedroom. The lift wasn't working, although the membet of staff managed some manoeuvre to get it working which I couldn't replicate. Restaurant was ok but the standard of a reasonable pub, not fine dining. Menu was a bit odd - steak and chips, fish and chips style or ”venison pudding” which was a huge stodgy pastry with over cooked dry meat inside. Breakfast buffet was very nice, but too dark in that room also. Six jams and marmalades in open jars with no way of knowing what they were, and no little dishes to put them in to take to your seat. Service at breakfast had to be sought out, no one in site. Breakfast bacon was inedible - cooked previously then reheated.
Overall, it is a fascinating place but needs a big overall and review of what they are offering.
GGuest UserThe Hotel was ideally located to Rail Station, Shops & places of interest. Room was clean and well equipped. Breakfast was brilliant. Plenty of choice and freshly cooked. Hotel had Gym facilities, although I did not use them they were there. And most important it had Car Parking which is quite rare. Would certainly stay there again and recommend to others.

GGuest UserGreat location for a hotel - closer to city centre with a nice walk across the river to get there. Convenient stop to visit family in my home-town.
Over-all a good hotel, clean room and comfortable bed. We didn't come into contact with any staff or stay for breakfast as we were in late and out early, so we can't comment on those. We loved that the room had a bath - this was lovely! The only downside was the the taps seemed to have some mould inside the pipes... it didn't come out into the water but it did look pretty disgusting hanging there in the running water :/
Other than that, this hotel gave us everything we would expect from a quick stop over :)
PPaweł MatusiakI consider my next stay at this hotel to be successful, on the day of my arrival a powerful storm passed over the city which caused a system failure but thanks to the great reception service I did not even feel it, really good job and full professionalism, and breakfast. I recommend
GGuest UserA beautiful location with stunning views. The hotel interior was a perfect mix of traditional and contemporary. Our room was right at the top of the building and, although very small, it was well designed and very clean. The service was excellent and the staff couldn't do enough to help you. We had dinner in the bar, which was tasty and arrived quickly and hot! All in all, The Cottage in the Woods is a perfect place for a quiet break with a little luxury. We will definitely be returning.
CChloe HepburnWe have been to this hotel several times, it has the basis of a fab hotel, great amenities etc but its not rub particularly well.
The pool/billiards room closes in the evening when you would assume it would be open to use for residents in the hotel, noone could ever quite tell me what time it didn't close but it was basically part of the swimming pool and gym and closed when that did. Again noone actually knew what time that was!
Paid for my puppy to stay but got no puppy treats, or puppy pack as promised!
All in all would stay again but it doesn't quite live up to its stars the way its currently being managed.
