Really nice relaxing stay! Everyone was really nice, Sarah was a really nice concierge and helped with activities and all the bar staff/ restaurant staff were particularly good! Shout out to Tom and his bar team for some really nice cocktails. Perfect stay to relax from hiking or just to enjoy the amenities, the modern retro architecture is so great to walk around and the private area by the river is nice to get away from the hustle and bustle !

We had a wonderful time at Yang Shuo Sugar House. The architecture of the property was breathtaking. Everywhere you look was so interesting. My favourite part was at night time when they would shine the lights on a mountain with their hotel name and a clear view of the stars. The service was impeccable. The receptionist was welcoming and helpful.  Our room was comfortable and clean. We loved the bathtub and spacious shower.  We also had a complimentary photo shoot, yoga Class, welcome drinks for our family. We loved the pictures! We hope to return again to beautiful Yang Shuo ❤️

We booked 2 nights as arrival was late. The place was a very good experience for us as it was at the foot of the mountain, historic sugar mill site and has a pier. We went for the Bamboo rafting (motorised kind) along the Li river, and their sugar candy morning activity. The chefs in sugar house also prepared very tasty and unique food. The morning tai chi was refreshing too! Kids room has slide and kids were happy.

Spectacular architecture and location. The hotel staff is professional and help wherever they can. As an english speaking tourist, the service and hospitality was out of this world! This is a must see location. Thanks to Joslin for taking such good care of us.

The place is epic! The scenery is beyond beautiful it’s like a beautiful oil painting. The staff are professional and helpful they speak English well to help you and make sure you’re comfortable. Don’t miss the Spa for sure, you get a discount voucher with your booking so it will get deducted from your spa bill prices starts from 700 RMB, very professional and relaxing. There are so many activities to keep you busy. There is a complimentary photography and that was amazing my photographer was really talented and fast he understood what I want even tho we don’t speak the same language. The rooms are spacious clean and convenient. The mini bar is filled with options and they complement you with deserts and fruit all day long. The ladies who help in the restaurant. And Ethan the bar tender was very joyful too. 10/10 I enjoy on my stay the Tai Chi class the instructor speaks English well. I’m definitely coming back again!

One of the most beautiful and peaceful places in the world. A great combination of historic renovation, modern design, art and architecture! Friendly staff and lots of cool activities, they even offer a mini walking tour on the former sugar house! The restaurant the bar are places on the factory previous installations where industrial pieces are pairing with contemporary art and interiors. The swimming pool has a perfect temperature and view of the Li river rocks. Rooms with pretty view blending into the Rocky Mountains of Yangshuo and a dashing SPA to finalize it!

Numerours activities offered by the hotel, the service is good, and the hotel environment is scenic. You can spend a lot of time inside the hotel without going out.

Surely instagrammable and a very special place. Very kind staff and great service. We were also extremely happy that they offered the taiji class.(or joga depending on the day. It alternates) the looks of the buildings and nature on hotel grounds are spectacular! other things such as breakfast and facilities are great, but expected at a modern 5 star hotel. The rooms in the building where most rooms are is close to the road side and there is barely more than a wooden door blocking the road noise. moreover, the hotel mentioned not being able to arrange e scooters to come to the hotel. They might think its unsafe, but I think this is a lot of fun and at a hotel like this I would think at least they give this option and just make you pay a high price which includes the service of bringing the scooter to the hotel. The Design of the hotel is outstanding and itself worth a visit. The location is nice close to river but you need a Taxi to go to the Center or to any scenic spots. Hotel staff is in general ok but the Service could be much better. We had to wait quite long to order some Drinks or the very noisy construction work at the Pool area had been scheduled between 9am and 6pm so that there was no Opportunity to relaxed at the Pool.

We had a fantastic stay at the Sugar Hotel for three days. The place is just amazing with the setting in an old sugar factory next to the Li river, especially the lights in the evening creates a warm and romantic atmosphere. We could even see the stars! During the day time we enjoyed the bamboo raft trip, the taichi class, the delicious food at the restaurant (my favourites were the Li River shrimps & the Thaistyle steamed sea bass) and the large buffet breakfast catering for both Western and Chinese. Outstanding was the massage in the Spa which made me leg pain which I had had for several weeks disappear. The entire team is very friendly & kind. Manager Cindy was especially helpful throughout our entire stay e.g. supporting us with the online checkin for our return flight to Beijing as well as asking her colleague Lucy to give me a tour of other room options after we couldn’t sleep that well due to the street noise in the first night (especially lorries). We finally remained in our room and slept well the other nights, but if you are sensible for noise you might want to bring you earplugs just in case or inform the front desk upon arrival. Altogether we can fully recommend the stay at the Sugar House. It is a unique experience!
