It was self-check-in, and we never actually met the host, but communication via WeChat was easy. The environment was lovely, the service was quite good, and overall cleanliness was acceptable. My only minor complaint is that the duvet felt like it hadn't been aired out much, making it a bit itchy. Hopefully, the cleanliness, particularly with the bedding, can be improved.
Located off the main island, public transportation is very convenient, and taxis are easy to find. Sunshine Town, with its numerous food stalls, is right downstairs, so you'll never have to worry about food and drinks. It's also very close to Yihai Town. Our child absolutely loved the swing. For the adults, the only slight drawback was not being able to see the sunrise directly from the front.
The health is great, the front desk lady is very polite, the children are very satisfied with the projection, this pillow is too comfortable to sleep, a good experience of travel.
Pros: Very good space, 2 or more king sized could easily fit a family of 4. Rooms cleaned to a high standard. Friendly landlord. Good view of the bay. Proximity to seaside (10mins walk), with a medium sized supermarket at the nearby ”mall” (4-5mins walk). Very near to BRT station (2 mins walk) which could bring one into Xiamen island (do avoid the morning and evening peak hours at all cost).
Cons: One of the 3 rooms (which was supposedly prohibited as stated in the listing) smelt badly of third hand smoke from the previous tenant. Could improve with added basic amenities such as dishwashing and liquid hand soap. One of the rooms projector was not working. Foreigners to China must be able to call the Chinese mobile number on the booking reference to be able to 'check-in' -- there is no front desk service.

Thanks Yaduo Hotel, let me feel the enthusiasm of China, the manager was very kind, drove me to the airport, prepared dinner for me, and had a midnight snack, made me feel the different Chinese customs, I love China, and hope to travel to China more, although the language communication is not very good, ha ha ha, but I like such communication.
I took my children to visit Fante Dream Kingdom. I chose a newly opened hotel nearby. The price was cheap, but the room was unexpectedly beautiful. The bedding was clean and comfortable, and the equipment was complete. Parking downstairs was also very convenient. The room fee was around 100 yuan. Money, this is the first time I have stayed in a hotel for so long and I feel it is worth the money. I am very satisfied.
Facilities: complete
Hygiene: very clean
Environment: Comfortable
Service: warm
From check-in to check-out, I felt the hotel's attentiveness every moment. The room was comfortable and the service was thoughtful, which made me feel the warmth of home during my trip. I will definitely come again next time!
During this trip to Xiamen, we stayed at three hotels, and my child absolutely loved The Portman the most. I would also highly recommend it.
Here's why: Qixing Bay boasts a beautiful seascape with fewer crowds. You can probably catch both sunrise and sunset here (though we didn't specifically try). The hotel's direct access to the beach, just across the road, is incredibly convenient. At low tide, you can go beachcombing – there were plenty of hermit crabs, razor clams, and balloon-shaped ghost crabs. We caught some and then released them all. The coastal road alongside the beach is great for cycling, or you can rent an e-bike to enjoy the ocean views. In the evenings, you might even stumble upon some street vendors or activities. It's tranquil and scenic during the day, lively but not noisy at night – a stark contrast to the busy Huandao Road, which is constantly packed with people and traffic.
As for the hotel itself, it's sprawling and stunning. Every corner offers a picturesque spot, perfect for taking photos. The rooms are generously sized with high ceilings, creating a very spacious feel. If you opt for a sea-view room, the ocean vista is expansive and unobstructed, unlike some hotels where 'sea view' means straining to glimpse a distant, hazy ocean. The hotel also boasts comprehensive facilities, including a swimming pool, a water park, and a kids' club – everything you need. It's absolutely perfect for a relaxing three or four-day 'staycation' with children.
The staff members are generally friendly and professional. In particular, the pool attendants are very responsible and meticulous, strictly managing the area. They test and change the water daily, and the water quality was indeed much cleaner than at the state-owned hotel we stayed at previously. The hotel is conveniently located, about a 20-minute drive from Xiamen North Station and Jimei University Town.
I heard there are several breakfast venues, but we only tried the French restaurant. The selection wasn't huge, but the quality was excellent. They also offered local specialties like Shacha noodles, peanut soup, and Mianxian paste – a 'quality over quantity' approach, I'd say. Plus, kids under 1.2 meters eat for free.
The only minor drawback was that due to how busy the hotel was during our stay, there were some inevitable oversights in room cleaning. However, I personally found this understandable. As long as you don't have excessively strict hygiene requirements, it should be acceptable.
After two nights, my child declared that they want to come to Xiamen again next time, specifically insisting on staying at The Portman.

Perfect
GGuest UserConvenient parking, suitable for self-driving, washing machine, refrigerator and other facilities are complete, the bedding is all cotton and comfortable, very close to the beach, you can watch the sunrise while lying on the bed, the beautiful boss is very nice, all kinds of tips are very considerate, super good
LLishantinglvmengFirst of all, it is certain that the health and environment are quite good. You can see the sea but it is far away. It is also very convenient to eat. The service is also good. The kitchenware is delivered immediately. But after booking, the store will not contact you in time. For example, registering information in advance will cause a long delay. Disposable slippers are of poor quality. Air conditioning can blow cold wind. Can not blow hot air. The house is originally colder than outside. I have a cold. I have a cold. I dare to take a bath and lie down. When the spring on the bed is awkward, you can't sleep. It's not that I'm hypocritical. It's the spring and your body feel that you have laid the sheets. The overall experience feels poor. I hope it can be improved.
GGuest UserOverall nice view relaxing days at the Beach.
Breakfast is also possible to eat outside on the terrace, which is very nice with direct ocean view.
Breakfat overall very good.
Got Room-Upgrade for free at Check-In
Rooms are very nice and quiet.
What i don`t like is that guests from other Hotel (half price room rate) are allowed to use the Swimming-Pool Facilities at Renaissance-Hotel. This is just not ok and that why there are a lot of families from the other Hotel with several Kids. Very noisy during day-time at the Poo.
Also there are only 14 pool lounger available, which is just not enough for two hotels which are using the pool
GGuest UserThe experience was absolutely fantastic. A special shout-out to the hotel for the thoughtful wristband room keys for the kids; they were absolutely thrilled throughout our three-night stay. The spacious 1.45-meter twin beds were incredibly comfortable. The balcony was perfect for enjoying the view and convenient for drying clothes. Kids playing in the water also had plenty of shade, and the pool staying open until 10 PM was a huge bonus – the children had a blast and the water was spotless. The beach is just across the road, and directly outside the hotel is the lively Sunshine Town. In my opinion, the comfort and overall experience here definitely outshine Qixingwan.
JJinlihaoyunyydsThe room is duplex, there are 2 large beds upstairs, one bed by the window, you can see the first-line sea view, it is beautiful, there is a sofa bathroom kitchen downstairs, the bathroom has a washing machine, go downstairs a few hundred meters to the beach, family travel children especially like, there are many nightingale stalls downstairs at night, selling a variety of food, Sunshine Town is nearby, it is very convenient to eat, there are many snack bars on the roadside, the beach is brightly lit at night, there are many activities that are very lively
The environment is very good and the villa decoration is quite high standard. It's clean and hygienic. The boss is very nice and hospitable. He even treated us to handmade dumplings. I will stay here again next time I come. Recommended.
224836****Parking is free, easy to get in and out, the house is very bright, walk a few minutes to the beautiful rainbow beach beach, this is the Xiamen tourism network red punch card, the scenery is infinitely good, Fangte is also nearby, we go to Wanda Commercial Plaza in the evening to stroll, eat specialties, feel that we live in the center of Xiamen, It’s very close everywhere, the landlord is very good at choosing the location, it’s great! Back to the homestay, we played mahjong and watched TV. It was very fulfilling. The next day, we cooked some porridge in the kitchen. We had a full meal and slept back to the cage. Thank you, the landlord brother, for making us so thoughtful. Come back next time. The next stop is going to Hunan. I hope I can be so lucky to live in a good homestay. The landlord brother, Thank you, good people for a safe life.
