After spending our first night on Gulangyu Island, we had originally planned to leave Xiamen the following day after sightseeing. However, an urgent matter came up, and by the time we finished dealing with it, it was almost 11 PM. We made a rather last-minute decision to stay another night, so I quickly searched online and found this hotel with an impressive 4.7 rating. Its opening in 2017 was another plus, suggesting the interiors wouldn't be too dated. After reviewing the hotel's photos and services, we were particularly attracted by the pool, which the kids would love, and the choice of sea view or mountain view rooms. We promptly booked online. Upon check-in, we could call the front desk to request disposable bath liners, kids' bathrobes, and toiletries. Soaking in the spacious bathtub was incredibly refreshing for both children and adults. Enjoying a few cups of Gongfu tea afterwards was simply delightful, and the tea set was a thoughtful touch that perfectly catered to our Chaoshan tea preferences. During our stay, an unexpected situation arose. The night concierge, whom we'd added on WeChat during check-in, provided incredibly prompt assistance. A big thumbs up to the hotel's management! I'd also like to commend the on-duty concierge and manager for their professionalism and efficient problem-solving. This hotel truly met my expectations for this Xiamen trip. I would definitely choose it again and recommend it to friends and family.

I booked a sea-view king room. The room was quite spacious and offered excellent views, directly overlooking the sea. Its location near Songyu Pier made getting to Gulangyu Island very convenient. We happened to visit during a children's summer hockey tournament, so the hotel was quite busy these days. The kids also enjoyed playing in the pool in the evenings. Overall, I was very satisfied with every aspect of our stay. The young lady at the front desk was incredibly helpful, and the service was very attentive. Our stay experience was absolutely top-notch.

Once again, the tranquility of the place stood out, providing a peaceful retreat that was much needed. During this stay, I had the pleasure of interacting with Lizzy and the rest of the staff. Lizzy, in particular, shone with her exceptional friendliness and warmth. Her genuine smile and willingness to assist made a significant difference in my experience at the hotel. The rest of the staff also echoed this sentiment, creating an environment that was not only welcoming but also truly hospitable. Returning to this hotel for the second time has only reinforced my positive impressions. The combination of a serene atmosphere, strict no-smoking policy, and the incredibly friendly staff make this establishment a top choice for anyone seeking a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

I was extremely satisfied as the hotel directly upgraded my room and also provided complimentary breakfast. There are plenty of fantastic dining options right downstairs. The Haicang Lake running track is excellent, offering superb air quality for daily morning runs.

The chess competition was held at Gulangwan Hotel, and it was very convenient to stay here with children to participate in the competition. We originally booked a family room, but because the family room was not in the same building as the competition venue, the front desk changed the room for us. The new room is adjacent to the competition venue, so children can go directly back to the room to rest after each round of competition, which is much more comfortable than waiting in the lobby. The decoration is a bit old-fashioned, but the hygiene is good. The toilet door was broken and not repaired. Hope it can be improved.

The smile service at the front desk makes people feel like spring breeze, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the bedding is soft and sleeps soundly. Two bottles of water were given when checking out, and the details were full! I will choose here next time, highly recommended!
