Hotels in Aluohai Plaza/Songyu Ferry, Xiamen

This vacation at the Xiamen Hacang Roxen Seaview Hualuxe Hotel completely won me over! The sea view from the room was simply breathtaking. The vast, endless ocean stretched out before me, its azure waters shimmering, meeting the sky in the far distance. This incredible scenery alone made the room price entirely worthwhile. The panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows gave the whole space an open, bright feel. Lying in bed, with the sunlight bathing me, every moment was pure bliss. The sea view experience here was truly next-level!

I booked a sea-view king room. The room was quite spacious and offered excellent views, directly overlooking the sea. Its location near Songyu Pier made getting to Gulangyu Island very convenient. We happened to visit during a children's summer hockey tournament, so the hotel was quite busy these days. The kids also enjoyed playing in the pool in the evenings. Overall, I was very satisfied with every aspect of our stay. The young lady at the front desk was incredibly helpful, and the service was very attentive. Our stay experience was absolutely top-notch.

This stay experience exceeded expectations. The location is very convenient. It is very convenient to eat and shop around. The room is clean and tidy. The bedding is soft and comfortable. Good. Come here next time.

The room is spacious and bright, and the sea view room has a pleasant view and surrounding environment. But the bedding is a bit old and the mattress is too soft. The food in the executive lounge is too monotonous. The breakfast is also too ordinary.

It was originally Atour, but I didn't feel the quality of Atour at all. The parking at the door was cramped and I had to be pointed by the street merchants. Except for being close to the Yuyu Pier, it was almost useless. The next day I immediately changed the hotel. On the day of check-in, I also encountered elevator maintenance. I waited for a long time. In addition, there were guests shouting in the corridor in the middle of the night, and cooking vegetable oil smoke in the room. The price of nearly 300 felt to pay for the location. The experience was the worst in the hotel recently.

Okay, but much better options exist if you have the money and book in advance. First of all, its a separate class of hotel situated within the very same Marriot (which is higher end), so consider this a class below the actual Marriot. The exit is separate, and leads mostly to nowhere, and you will most likely enter the real Marriot part of the building at first, but thankfully staff knows this is a common mistake and leads you through a small hallway of about 200m to the other reception where you will be greeted by just as professional staff. They don't include any toiletries but will deliver them swiftly to the room door if you need any, I guess its ecological, in their mind, but practically..ultimately pointless and saves no one's time and energy. The room itself is a bit of a step down from regular 4* chain hotels - the size, the leather on the furniture is torn and worn a bit, and it shows its age and class. There are similarly priced competitors within the same 1-2km range, who do a much better job, plus better view, for a few bucks more. It should be priced a bit lower in order to be a good deal and vibe for the money. Ultimately an okay hotel, no one will be disappointed, but the value to me just isn't there, and the real Marriot is in the same building, but you are getting the cheaper version of it, watered down.

Moreover, the strict no-smoking policy ensured that the air was always fresh and clean, which added to the overall comfort of the stay. I also had the pleasure of interacting with a staff member named Eric during my time there. Eric's friendly and kind demeanor truly made a difference in my stay. He went above and beyond to ensure that I felt welcomed and taken care of throughout my visit. His exceptional customer service skills made a lasting impression on me, and I greatly appreciate his efforts in making my stay enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a quiet and smoke-free environment, along with exceptional hospitality from staff members like Eric. It's a true gem for those looking for a peaceful retreat.

The chess competition was held at Gulangwan Hotel, and it was very convenient to stay here with children to participate in the competition. We originally booked a family room, but because the family room was not in the same building as the competition venue, the front desk changed the room for us. The new room is adjacent to the competition venue, so children can go directly back to the room to rest after each round of competition, which is much more comfortable than waiting in the lobby. The decoration is a bit old-fashioned, but the hygiene is good. The toilet door was broken and not repaired. Hope it can be improved.

My nephew recently scored 760 on his high school entrance exam and was admitted to the 'Runde' experimental class at Fujian Normal University Affiliated High School. He then mentioned to me, 'Uncle, I've never stayed in a five-star hotel before.' Despite my financial difficulties, I reluctantly chose this hotel for our trip. I'm incredibly grateful to the lovely lady at the front desk who helped us upgrade to a high-floor deluxe bay view room! Later, in Xiamen, we visited Gulangyu Island, Shapowei, Cat Street, Xiamen University, and other attractions. On our journey back, I could truly feel my nephew's joy, and for that, I am grateful once more!

The first time I came to Xiamen, I stayed in the city on the first night. I immediately changed to the Yast International Hotel the next morning to check in! The big bed room we stayed in was very light, bathing, toileting, brushing teeth were separated, the corridor was clean and tidy, and the service was in place and polite! The service features summed up a few points for friends to refer to: 1. Rich breakfast and health; 2. Have treadmill, can exercise; 3. There is also a washing machine, wet clothes in the sanitary water interval area (in the urban area, there is no such thing, the space is very limited!) 4. Transportation is also OK, 20 minutes by taxi to the city, it is also very convenient to Gulangyu. Customer first, service in place, smile hospitality. Staying in the past two days, I really feel the comfort of people in a foreign country but not losing my home. I will choose here next time I have the opportunity. I have already recommended relatives and friends to come to Xiamen to play and live here! Praise 👍
