Xi'an Lianhu District Hotels

What a wonderful, hospitable owner. The owner was extremely thoughtful and took really good care of all his guests. He took extra effort to prepare an early breakfast for a European family who wanted to leave early for the terracotta museum and helped them rebook the taxi when he observed that the allocated vehicle was too small for the family of 4. I enjoyed having conversations with the owner, covering anything under the sun helping to break the monotony of solo travel. The place is located in a quieter area, but surrounded by the traditional Chinese food stalls, local market, chic restaurants and bars and trendy cafes and bakeries. Clean and tidy, the big living room on the ground floor to relax or for some, a spot to some work.

The location is incredibly convenient! Right outside Exit B of Longshouyuan Station on Metro Line 2, you'll find the hotel. This was a lifesaver for someone like me who easily gets lost! It's quick and easy to get to the Bell Tower, Muslim Quarter, and the high-speed train station. The hotel definitely has a classic, 'old-money' charm. Initially, I thought the facilities might be a bit dated, but they are actually very well-maintained. Overall, the service was truly commendable. As soon as you approach the hotel, staff are there to help with your luggage, and the front desk handled things very smoothly. What truly impressed me was the exceptional daily housekeeping. Whether we were in the room or not, they would consistently come to replace disposable amenities and towels, and tidy up. Another highlight for me was the heated swimming pool. We brought our child on this trip, and they went there every single day! Even though it was a bit chilly these past few days, the heated pool meant it didn't affect our enjoyment at all. Overall, it's definitely worth recommending. It might not be the best fit for young people seeking the latest tech gadgets or a super modern feel, but it's very suitable for family trips or business travel.

Pros: 1. Location was great, only few mins walk to major attractions. 2. Staff are generally helpful but don't speak a lot of English, so need to use a translation app. 3. Airport transfer is in reasonable price and driver are nice, van is very clean. Cons: When it come to the room and general environment, this is where the problem comes: 1. My room is facing the backstreet, so can hear some noises esp with the car beeping and the good old spitting from someone living opposite the building first thing in the morning. 2. The room aircon is set to 24 degrees no matter how low I tried to turn the aircon to, it can be a bit hot for some. 3. There are mould in the room and common area which leads to my constant cough and asthma. 4. Have asked to clean room everyday and the cleaner only refill the water, clear the bins but they do not clean the mugs. You have to do it yourself apparently...

I loved the location of this hotel. So close to the Drum Tower and Muslim quarter, shops, restaurants and metro. I was a little bit concerned with other reviews about the carpet etc but it was completely fine. Our rooms were tiled. No smoke smells. One of our rooms had an issue with the tv but staff fixed that promptly. They don’t speak English but are well versed in using the translating apps. We were happy the self serve laundry was free to use and had detergent. Bottled water is also there if you ran out but they gave us 2 bottles each day as well. I found my clothes dried faster on the roof than in the dryer - it was very hot in Xi’an! The roof garden is a nice place to relax. You can see the Drum tower and the start of Beiyuanmen St easily. (The photo of the Drum Tower is from the rooftop garden.) Some of the woodboards up there are deteriorating so watch your step, but otherwise it’s lovely. Would be beautiful in spring when the flowers bloom. Our room was on the laneway side and it was surprisingly quiet despite all the horn honking on the streets below. Shower head had good water pressure, beds comfortable. Room clean. The fitness room is in the laundry and does not have much equipment only a treadmill and elliptical/bike so if you want more gym equipment this is not the place for you. The WiFi worked intermittently for us but wasn’t an issue as we had our own data. The hardest part is finding the hotel the first time you arrive. The hotel does send instructions when you book so definitely keep those on hand. The back of the hotel is the easiest entry from the metro and for arrival by car. If you see a boom gate you are in the right place. Walk past the boom gate up the driveway then follow the signs to Ibis Styles. You basically have to go around another building to find it. It is too difficult to come with luggage into the front entrance because that is far from the road and is a pedestrian shopping area and square. Cars cannot stop near there. If you want a budget hotel in a great location, this is definitely worth considering. I was very happy with it.

We loved the stay here a lot, so much that we extended it by a few days! The hotel is very comfortable, extremely clean with good amenities. The buffet breakfast had good variety and was tasty. The location is perfect! A lot of eateries nearby, convenience stores and supermarket. Easy to visit the Xi’an wall from here, as well as the Clock and Drum Towers. The staff was extremely friendly and kind and we could understand each other just fine using translation tools. Would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Steps away from the Muslim Quarter. Very convenient. Room is exactly like in the pictures. Great service from the staff. Free laundry services. They even offered to finish our laundry so we didnt have to wait on our laundry and go about our day! When we came back at night, our laundry is already neatly folded in a laundry bag. Ready for us to pick up. What a great service!

.......if you are planning for Xi'an trip and are looking for accommodation, look no further - Da Tang Yin is the place to put up at. Still, if you need reassurance: read through the many reviews about it and you'll be assured to stay at the place. Of course, on the first day - you'll have to search a little for the location at one of the alleys in the Muslim Quarter (your point of reference will be the Great Mosque of Xi'an). Thereafter, it's convenient as it really is in the Muslim Quarter - literally it is!! And if you are bringing trolley luggage and are staying at its highest 04th floor, it will be a struggle to bring it up as there are no lifts. But the owner, is ever willing to help you with it. Since it's about the owner we are talking about: your communication with him starts even before you stay at his homestay via wechat - that's where if you need directions to come over to his homestay - or even need his help to fetch you from the airport or railway station, he would oblige and ensure you would be in good hands to arrive to his homestay safely. That goes the same with sight-seeing around Xi'an - he would be ever willing to help you book tickets and give you valuable advice going about it. .......this is the advantage of staying at Da Tang Yin - you have a very honest, helpful and respectful owner who would go the extra mile to make sure you have a great stay in Xi'an. With that, his homestay is also kept clean and comfortable for you throughout. This B&B truly lives up to its reputation as Xi'an's 'most beautiful B&B'. The design is incredibly unique. My room, 'Mijian', was on the top floor. Besides the distinctive room design, there's a rooftop garden, which is truly the most beautiful part. However, Xi'an in summer is too hot to spend time outdoors during the day. Otherwise, I would have loved to enjoy an afternoon tea in the garden, chatting with friends and family. Nevertheless, I still managed to enjoy a bubble bath in the rooftop garden. I'll definitely aim to visit again in spring or autumn next time; I'm sure it would offer a different experience. The host was exceptionally kind, helping with luggage and providing great travel and dining recommendations. The only minor inconvenience is its location in the Muslim Quarter, where cars aren't allowed to enter. This meant we had to haul our luggage from an outside parking lot to the B&B, which was quite a challenge, especially in the scorching summer heat. The room was incredibly well-equipped, with everything from small details like disposable towels and a sewing kit, to a large projection screen, and even unlimited mineral water and Bingfeng (a local Xi'an soda). Overall, it was a great experience.👍

I found the hotel stay quite comfortable. The location to the local shops and metro was very convenient. All essentials and room were serviced daily. The daily breakfast, which i bought separately was of a high standard. The only negatives are there was no in room WiFi as stated in the amenities (this was provided by my previous hotel in Beijing in checkin). The other inconvenience is having to carry my heavy luggage up 20 steps from the Bell Tower metro station exit to reach the hotel entrance. As the hotel entrance is not directly in front of a driver pickup zone, I had to arrange for tour pickups from West street.

Choosing Mercure Xi'an Bell Tower & Muslim Street was the best decision for my trip to Xi'an! Major attractions are just a 10-minute walk away, and the Muslim Quarter food street is practically on its doorstep! It was truly a foodie's paradise! Living up to its international brand reputation, the hotel rooms are incredibly well-equipped, especially the bedding – top-quality with the perfect firmness, guaranteeing a sound night's sleep until I naturally woke up. The soundproofing is excellent; despite being in a lively area, the room was perfectly quiet, ensuring a restful sleep. **Thoughtful and Attentive Service:** The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They proactively helped with my luggage, offered suggestions for local attractions, and even thoughtfully provided a Xi'an tourist map. Housekeeping was prompt every day, keeping amenities well-stocked. Even the bathroom showed attention to detail, featuring a smart toilet seat – truly elevating the experience! **Rich and Diverse Breakfast:** The restaurant boasts an elegant ambiance and offers a wide variety of Chinese and Western buffet options. What truly stood out were the authentic Shaanxi specialties, like Hu La Tang and Zeng Gao – I could eat them for three days straight without getting bored! The freshly ground, aromatic coffee was the perfect way to kickstart each day's adventures. **Convenient Transportation:** Besides the readily available subway, taxis are also easy to hail. Key sites like the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the Terracotta Army shuttle bus, and the Ancient City Wall are all easily accessible, making it ideal for independent travelers. This stay completely redefined my expectations for city hotels – Mercure not only offers an unbeatable location but truly embodies ”French elegance” through its meticulous details and exceptional service!
