Dave and George the cutie were lovely, we managed to get our laundry done here which was a lifesaver after so many other bnbs don't offer that facility, and even saw 2 pigs, a deer and goat at the adjacent farm!

We had a wonderful stay at the hostel. The staff were very friendly and gave us a thorough introduction to the hostel, including its lovely animal residents, like baby lambs, deer, pig, and horse. A highlight of my stay was the chance to feed the baby lamb, which was a truly memorable experience! The facilities are basic, but everything is in good working order and covers the essentials. The bedding was clean, and they provided a clear wall guide on how to set it up, which was helpful and a nice touch. Overall, it was a cozy, enjoyable stay, and we would definitely recommend it to others!

The facilities are perfect, and it is a farm. You can pick horses and lambs at will. They are docile and cute. There are also wild boars. The farm is only 10 kilometers away from the glowworm cave. It feels like a paradise on earth.

I didn't look carefully when I booked it. This is a backpacker's homestay. The room is very small, with only a bunk bed and a small cabinet. I was a little disappointed at first, but the kids were so excited to see this kind of bed for the first time. The most exciting thing is that the boss raised a sheep, a deer and two pigs. The kids loved feeding them watermelons and were reluctant to leave. There is a tennis court on the top of the mountain, so let's go for parent-child activities. The boss is also very nice and humorous. The whole atmosphere is great

it's about a trully hostel with pros and cons we reserved a 4beds private room with a very small private bathroom whose cleaning may be improved a good amount of refurbishing would return a better general impression water in the small pool was hazy parking is available for free caves are at a little walk across the village where restaurants are available

I had such a good time at this hostel. It was my first ever stay at a hostel and I was so lucky it was at this one. The staff is nice, the kitchen is surprisingly well equipped and the bunks were comfortable. Blankets and pillows are provided, which was great as I didn‘t have any room left in my backpack to bring my own. This can obviously vary, but during my stay the other visitors were so friendly and it was very easy to get in touch with others. There are free games and books in the spacious and cozy common room as well. The proximity to the Waitomo township and various cave related activities is very convenient too. You can also visit and pet the animals living on the adjacent pasture. I had such a great time there and highly recommend this hostel!

The staff, location, cleanliness, hot showers, great wifi, well equipped kitchen & lounge ….. Max the small dog, all make Juno Hall one of my favourite places, whether I stay in the lodge or camp outside. I really enjoy bringing visitors here, or even stopping over when enroute through the region. So close to waterfalls, caves, natural bridge.

One of my favourite hostels in New Zealand so far, if you want to rest and enjoy peace. It has a kind of mountain refuge ambience, with the fire lit in the centre of the room in winter, very warm, very clean and cosy. we stayed in a double room, which was comfortable. Not too big, but really nice. Really close to the caves around the Waitomo area and from the Otorohanga Kiwi House. There is a one year old dog in the property, likes to eat shoes that are left unattended in the common areas.

The host was very friendly and helpful. Kitchen was clean and tidy. Nice atmosphere. Bathroom facilies on the small side and the rooms had thin walls (could hear someone snoring from another room. The bed mattress was too hard.

I travelled around NZ for a month, and this was my favorite hostel I stayed in. The overall vibe and all the travellers were upbeat and friendly. It was cool having both the hostel rooms inside and camping spots outside. The pool was an awesome feature, hosts were friendly and helpful, and I loved having the two pigs, goat, deer, and George the dog around! It was such a nice secluded and quiet location, but close enough to drive to restaurants within 10 minutes. Walls were a bit thin, and beds and pillows weren't overly comfortable, but hey, that's how it usually works at hostels. Shared bathrooms were always clean and lots of hot water. Would recommend for sure!

We spent a very enjoyable couple of nights here in our campervan on our way down the north island. The site itself was quiet and secluded, with a number of animals nearby, including cows, sheep, pigs and a deer! The communal facilities are comprehensive and clean, with extensive and comfortable seating both inside and on the large verandah which surrounds the building. But what makes Juno Hall particularly special is Dave, the manager (and his dog, George), who has a quirky sense of humour and a heart of gold, often going above and beyond to help guests and is also a mine of information. Go visit - it is a gem!
