Our had booked three rooms for a family get together. The staff were all efficient, helpful and friendly. The bathrooms were looking a little ragged and in need of updating.
The hotel was full and busy and tended to be noisy. We had two disturbed nights from noise in the corridors. I thought the hotel could do more to promote courtesy among guests. Such as better signage - you are now entering a quiet zone no noise in corridors. The posters on the walls were not obvious.
The pool and spa were closed for repair and we were not informed of this prior to our travel.

GGuest UserI stayed at the Marriott for business and was there for 3 nights. It was the first time I’d stayed there and on arrival the reception was pretty basic with very little information shared about the hotel. It set the tone for my stay: The room was ok but tired. There was no soap in the bathroom and there were hairs on the floor. That said it was vey quiet and the bed was very comfortable My keycard wasn’t enabled for the executive lounge which was part of the package with the room I had paid for. This was an oversight on the unwelcoming arrival. I’d asked for the room to be cleaned each day. This happened the first two days and on the third it didn’t. I had no clean glasses or water in the room which then led me to get passed to and fro from reception to the bar until someone was prepared to give me a clean glass and a bottle of water. The restaurant was busy and they were understaffed. My food arrived before my drink and when it did arrive the glass had a large crack all the way round. It would have been nice to not have to wait 20 mins for a drink too. The wifi in the hotel, including the executive lounge, was very poor and the phone reception was so bad I had to sit in my car to make calls. Not acceptable for a hotel offering business services. I spoke with the duty manger the morning I left to provide feedback as I didn’t want to just leave without saying anything (I’d tried to speak to reception about a couple of the issues while I was there but was given no help). The lady I met was nice and did apologise and she took my email and said she would speak to the manager and come back to me. 3 full days later and not a word which doesn’t give me confidence for their customer service and things improving for future stays. On a positive note the bar and restaurant staff (except the lady on the restaurant reception) were very polite and helpful despite being run off their feet. A big shout out for Lenka too in the Executive lounge. She was the best ambassador for the hotel by far. I am in Leicester once a month now with a new job and despite the Marriott being the closest hotel, I won’t be staying there next time after my experience and their seeming lack of interest in my experience as a customer.
GGuest UserThis is the hotel I stay at every time I go to Leicester. It's opposite the High Cross and the location is excellent, very convenient. It's only a ten-minute walk from Tesco. The only inconvenience is the parking lot. One day the battery was out and I couldn't get in or out, so I had to park in the High Cross parking lot, which was a long walk.
GGuest UserAs a hotel owner I’m always very sceptical when staying elsewhere. The Ramada Encore was spotless, something which is usually a major concern for me. The bed was comfortable, the shower was lovely with great water pressure. Check-in and check-out were seamless, staff were very friendly and accommodating regarding my late check-in and request for a later check-out. Breakfast options were great for the average person, but as someone that eats low carb I was limited, but knew this when I paid for it, plenty of food available at the buffet though. There was a little noise from drunk people passing by on the street but it was a Friday night so not the hotel’s fault and didn’t last very long. No noise whatsoever indoors. Overall, very pleased with my stay, great value for money.

NNtreSevThe environment and sanitation are very good, and the facilities are relatively new. It is a cost-effective hotel in Leicester, but the front desk staff may be a little hostile to Chinese, indifferent and slack. Overall, aside from the service, everything is fine.
We were prepared for college dorm rooms. But this hotel has transitioned nicely from its beginnings. I'd recommend getting a room with 2 beds if you are a couple, as they are small. The bathroom is very sizable. The only, minor, downside is if you have a heavy bag (50+lbs), there is no elevator. So you will be hauling it up the stairs. We would definitely stay here again.
TTAN HAIVery good hotel, clean and tidy, free and convenient parking, not too far from the city center, just outside the city, breakfast in the morning is also very good, very worthy hotel
AAnne MHotel rooms small but spotless. Desk staff were amazing. Of all hotels I've ever stayed in these guys were so polite helpful and pleasant. Couldn't praise them enough. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in the area. Cheap and cheerful.
GGuest UserFantastic staff. So helpful and pleasant. Room is comfortable and has the usual things in it. Breakfast is good. The hospital is a 10 min walk and the centre about 20mins. Not much around the hotel unless you walk into the city. Cheaper to book a room on booking.com than directly at reception. The staff really make this place a lovely hotel to stop in.
GGuest UserMost things about this apartment are great - easy access, right next to a supermarket, clean and spacious room. Nice communal area and kitchen with breakfast food and coffee machine. The person at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Wifi worked well. Was notified that housekeeping is every 4 days. Easy 10 minutes on the bus from Leicester station/city centre. I would recommend bringing noise-cancelling headphones if you are a light sleeper. It is next to a busy road and the walls are VERY thin. I was kept up on several nights by the person in the next room snoring, shouting over the phone at 6am, and listening to loud music throughout the night. Not the hotel’s fault and hopefully not a fixture, but given the other reviews, bring headphones!
To describe this place as a flea pit would be an understatement. The place needs a complete overhaul & I recommend that you only stay here if there is literally nowhere else to stay. This place is filthy, the rooms seem to only get the basic amount of ‘cleaning’ both rooms we were shown could do with a full deep clean. The first room was stinking of cigarette smoke and the second reeked of curry. The floors, walls, light switches, doors, tiles on bathroom walls & bathroom were all filthy & had marks/dirt/stains - the sofa was just disgustingly filthy & we completely avoided it. We were unfortunate enough to stay here for only one night, but I didn’t read the reviews before we booked…I won’t make that mistake again & I hope by reading this that it will avoid you the same pain.
