We stayed at this hotel as a couple as we were attending an event at the rugby stadium, which is literally 30 seconds walk away. The room was absolutely spotless! Well kept and had everything we needed and more, hairdryer that actually dried my hair, iron/board, fridge, safe, kettle, even a posh coffee machine. The bathroom, well wow, it is a little small but to be honest, not too small. The shower, wow, there was a hole in the shower door so you could start the shower from the outside! It was also a handy hole for reaching my toiletries. The TV was great and room service was reasonably prices and pretty speedy! All of the staff we had contact with were friendly and looked happy to be there!! I've stayed in hotels from Fiji to Blackpool, from Glasgow to New Zealand and this rates in the top! We will definitely be staying here again.

I stayed at the Marriott for business and was there for 3 nights. It was the first time I’d stayed there and on arrival the reception was pretty basic with very little information shared about the hotel. It set the tone for my stay: The room was ok but tired. There was no soap in the bathroom and there were hairs on the floor. That said it was vey quiet and the bed was very comfortable My keycard wasn’t enabled for the executive lounge which was part of the package with the room I had paid for. This was an oversight on the unwelcoming arrival. I’d asked for the room to be cleaned each day. This happened the first two days and on the third it didn’t. I had no clean glasses or water in the room which then led me to get passed to and fro from reception to the bar until someone was prepared to give me a clean glass and a bottle of water. The restaurant was busy and they were understaffed. My food arrived before my drink and when it did arrive the glass had a large crack all the way round. It would have been nice to not have to wait 20 mins for a drink too. The wifi in the hotel, including the executive lounge, was very poor and the phone reception was so bad I had to sit in my car to make calls. Not acceptable for a hotel offering business services. I spoke with the duty manger the morning I left to provide feedback as I didn’t want to just leave without saying anything (I’d tried to speak to reception about a couple of the issues while I was there but was given no help). The lady I met was nice and did apologise and she took my email and said she would speak to the manager and come back to me. 3 full days later and not a word which doesn’t give me confidence for their customer service and things improving for future stays. On a positive note the bar and restaurant staff (except the lady on the restaurant reception) were very polite and helpful despite being run off their feet. A big shout out for Lenka too in the Executive lounge. She was the best ambassador for the hotel by far. I am in Leicester once a month now with a new job and despite the Marriott being the closest hotel, I won’t be staying there next time after my experience and their seeming lack of interest in my experience as a customer.

As a hotel owner I’m always very sceptical when staying elsewhere. The Ramada Encore was spotless, something which is usually a major concern for me. The bed was comfortable, the shower was lovely with great water pressure. Check-in and check-out were seamless, staff were very friendly and accommodating regarding my late check-in and request for a later check-out. Breakfast options were great for the average person, but as someone that eats low carb I was limited, but knew this when I paid for it, plenty of food available at the buffet though. There was a little noise from drunk people passing by on the street but it was a Friday night so not the hotel’s fault and didn’t last very long. No noise whatsoever indoors. Overall, very pleased with my stay, great value for money.

Fantastic staff. So helpful and pleasant. Room is comfortable and has the usual things in it. Breakfast is good. The hospital is a 10 min walk and the centre about 20mins. Not much around the hotel unless you walk into the city. Cheaper to book a room on booking.com than directly at reception. The staff really make this place a lovely hotel to stop in.
Hotel rooms small but spotless. Desk staff were amazing. Of all hotels I've ever stayed in these guys were so polite helpful and pleasant. Couldn't praise them enough. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in the area. Cheap and cheerful.

The environment and sanitation are very good, and the facilities are relatively new. It is a cost-effective hotel in Leicester, but the front desk staff may be a little hostile to Chinese, indifferent and slack. Overall, aside from the service, everything is fine.

GGuest UserThis was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I was really reluctant to write this review as everyone I spoke to at the hotel during my stay was helpful and friendly, the staff there were top. However after complaining about the stay when checking out, again the woman I spoke to was lovely but said a manager would need to get in touch. It’s been four days and the owner/manager hasn’t. I gave them the opportunity to get in touch and see what went wrong, now I just need to be honest about the stay. This was the worst night sleep I ever had, in a hotel or otherwise. We paid for a suite, so one of the nicest rooms in the hotel. However from the moment we got in the room it was unbearable. The heat in the room was like being in a sauna - that isn’t an exaggeration. We went around the room to see if there were any radiators on that we didn’t spot! Unbearable. There is no air conditioning in the room just a tiny fan left on the side for us to use. That provided no relief. Maybe your thinking open a window, they are prevented from opening more than a few inches. So we were just stuck in this unbearable room with no alternative. In order to get the 2 hours sleep I did get that night. I had to get up and stand in a cold shower multiple times. This was a stop on a road trip my wife and I were having for our honeymoon. I rated all the other hotels 5 star they were amazing. This put a real downer in our otherwise perfect trip. I was embarrassed picking this hotel to stay in as one of our stops. Avoid it like the plague.
GGuest UserA quaint little village far removed from the urban sprawl of Leicester, peace and tranquility wrapped around a lovely looking pub with rooms. Very pleasant owners and staff. Comfy clean modern room with good amenities and a very good night sleep. Food was delicious and I sat in the bar which was filled with excited happy chatter and nice background music. Smoked mackerel with beetroot and the trio of Venison sausages washed down with very well kept Timothy Taylors Landlord, what a pleasant stay.
We were prepared for college dorm rooms. But this hotel has transitioned nicely from its beginnings. I'd recommend getting a room with 2 beds if you are a couple, as they are small. The bathroom is very sizable. The only, minor, downside is if you have a heavy bag (50+lbs), there is no elevator. So you will be hauling it up the stairs. We would definitely stay here again.
GGuest UserThe room is well-equipped, clean and comfortable. It is in the city center, a 5-minute walk to the train station, and within walking distance of most attractions. There are supermarkets such as Aldi and Lidl nearby, making shopping convenient.

GGuest UserMost things about this apartment are great - easy access, right next to a supermarket, clean and spacious room. Nice communal area and kitchen with breakfast food and coffee machine. The person at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Wifi worked well. Was notified that housekeeping is every 4 days. Easy 10 minutes on the bus from Leicester station/city centre. I would recommend bringing noise-cancelling headphones if you are a light sleeper. It is next to a busy road and the walls are VERY thin. I was kept up on several nights by the person in the next room snoring, shouting over the phone at 6am, and listening to loud music throughout the night. Not the hotel’s fault and hopefully not a fixture, but given the other reviews, bring headphones!
GGuest UserThere's no way anyone could feasibly give Glenfield Lodge 5* and I'm sure the owners don't even strive for that. It's less than a mile from the city centre and is basic - it's mainly used by companies to accommodate construction workers during the week. The room had a working basic TV, kettle, and sink. The toilet and bathroom (both very clean and functional) were at the end of the passage. The building is tired internally. No doubt about that. It is a place just to sleep but - here's the rest of it. The gentleman on duty was polite, friendly and thorough. Even though we were only staying for one night we were treated very well. The beds and bedding were clean and very comfortable. To our surprise, it was extremely quiet. Either no one stats there at the weekends or the residents are very considerate. And now the biggest thing - £37 for a twin room booked only a few days in advance. Incredible value for money.
We were travelling as a band, group of 6. Had travelled from Glasgow to Nottingham the previous day to play a gig, then onto Leicester and London. The owner had phoned the previous day to inform us that there was a problem with one of the rooms, seemed very polite and apologetic and would organise accommodation elsewhere for 2 of our group. We were fine with this. However, upon arrival we were informed by the guy managing the place currently (as the owner was out with some health related issues) that we all had rooms there. The rooms were open and keys were in the drawers. We went upstairs and only the 3 bed room was made up and another guest was still staying in one of the rooms and was out at work so we wouldn't get that room until later. Our group all hung out in the 3 bed waiting on the other room being made up. The ”manager” stood at the door of the room for over an hour talking nonsense and sharing details that no-one needed to hear instead of making up the other room. The worst possible scenario when you've just travelled 6+ hours and played a gig the previous night. The ”manager” took 2 of our party into the 2 bed room to get it made up (no reason for this, just wanted to talk more nonsense). The 2 bed room had obvious signs of water damage (most likely the room the owner had phoned the previous day about). Brown damp spot on the ceiling in the corner of the room, the wallpaper peeling off the wall and the room smelled awful. Previous guests things were still in the drawers. One of the beds in this room got made up in that time and he had to leave to get another sheet, never came back. Our group decided to just get out of the place for the time being. We arrived back later to pick up our gear to go soundcheck at the venue down the road and the rest of the rooms had been made up. We returned later that night and couldn't get in the front door so we phoned the number asking to call for access. This was the owners number I had spoke with the day before and he sounded genuinely surprised that we hadn't been given the access code. We got in and went upstairs before going to bed, on of the boys flipped his pillow and found what appeared to be blood stains on the pillowcase. We all slept on top of the duvets that night in our clothes because we didn't trust that anything was clean and got up early the next morning to leave as soon as possible to head for London. We had booked the breakfast in advance but we didn't want to chance that either knowing what state the rooms were in. Overall, an unpleasant and uncomfortable stay. Would not book again given this experience and anyone looking to I would hesitate until the owner manages to sort out the problems with staff and the condition of the place. It's a shame because I'm not sure the owner actually knows how the place is currently being run.
TTahera NI had to wait a little at the beginning as for some reason my booking wasn’t showing on their system. However I was given an upgraded room due to this. The first room smelt of cannabis and the edge of the bed metal piece was sticking out with shower gel half empty. Therefore I was given another room which was in excellent condition, it was a lot bigger with a massive TV screen. This hotel’s bathroom had a hair dryer and a hair straightener too. They also had an ironing board. The person at the reception was very friendly, smiled no matter what and even offered tea whilst I was waiting. Some of the rooms had good views example you could see the Leicester wheel.
