The location is absolutely fantastic, with a subway station right at the entrance, and complimentary parking available for those driving. Breakfast is served at Liu Suiju, located just to the right of the hotel. The surrounding area is packed with highly-rated eateries, and all major attractions are conveniently within a 3km radius. I was initially a bit hesitant, expecting a small room and average facilities given such a prime location and price point. However, my actual stay far exceeded my expectations and was a truly pleasant surprise: 1. Facial recognition for door access! No more carrying a hotel key card or worrying about losing it. A huge plus is that since there's no card slot for power, the room's electricity remains on continuously, even when you're out. 2. We stayed for two nights, and during the second day's cleaning service, not only were all the toiletries replaced with fresh ones, but even the slippers and complimentary mini-bar drinks were replenished. These might seem like minor details, but they truly convey the hotel's dedication and thoughtfulness in service ❤️

At the entrance of the alley is the Pingjiang Road and the cruise ship terminal of Pingjiang River. As soon as you step out of the inn, you can set foot on Pingjiang Road and feel the profound heritage of "One Pingjiang Road represents half of Suzhou's history." It is adjacent to the Silk Exhibition Hall, and there are numerous places of historical interest and scenic beauty around. Famous scenic spots such as the Humble Administrator's Garden, the Lion Grove Garden, the Suzhou Museum, the Couple's Garden Retreat, and the Dongyuan Park can all be reached on foot, allowing you to immerse yourself in the magnificent scenery of Suzhou's gardens and its rich history and culture. When you step into the inn, it's as if you've walked into an ink-wash painting of the Jiangnan region. The architecture in Chinese style and the wooden staircase exude an antique charm, as if telling the stories of the passing years. The mottled old walls and the climbing Boston ivy indoors are the marks left by time, adding a touch of historical charm to this place. The design of the inn has a strong sense of spatial hierarchy. Both the public areas and the guest rooms are carefully arranged, and every detail shows exquisite craftsmanship and attention. The perfect integration of the classical and the modern creates a warm and elegant atmosphere. Whether you are in pursuit of Suzhou's history and culture or longing to enjoy a period of peaceful and pleasant time, Sunshine Inn in the Alley (Suzhou Humble Administrator's Garden Pingjiang Road Branch) is your ideal choice. It is like a warm haven, allowing you to feel at home in this unfamiliar city and leave behind a wonderful memory.

We understand that this is a newly opened hotel and perhaps they had never hosted foreign guests with a special visa (non-tourist visa) before. However, we had a very unpleasant experience. Around midnight, the staff nearly forced us to leave the hotel, assuming that we had overstayed simply because our entry date into China was more than 30 days ago. We are two women traveling together, and being almost kicked out of the hotel in the middle of the night was extremely stressful and unsafe. On the positive side, the location is convenient — only a 7-minute walk to the famous Shantang Road. Tips for future guests: the hot tub is on the outdoor terrace, but since the weather is still warm and there are many mosquitoes, it’s not really enjoyable. Overall, it was not worth the money.
