I recently stayed here again in October 2024, but my experience this time was different from my previous stay in January. Last time, I stayed with friends, and I was very impressed. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and came with a range of amenities, including a fridge, washing machine, dryer, hairdryer, and more. I rated it a perfect 10/10 then! The hotel still has a great location near the train station, making it very convenient for getting around. However, on this visit, the room felt much older, with noticeable wear and tear, including dark stains on the floor and a bathroom that didn’t feel as clean as before. The decor seemed a bit outdated as well. The service was still okay, and the staff did their best, even using Google Translate to communicate in English. Overall, while the convenience and amenities are still good, I was disappointed that the room's upkeep has declined.

The receptionists are very professional, polite and helpful. During our first day of check-in, they provided us the Suzhou travel guide, introduced us some local attraction spots and foods. And at our last day of stay, we missed our train to Hangzhou, the staff offered help to contact our booked hotel at Hangzhou (another homeinn branch) to check whether we can cancel one night stay at the hotel. Although the request didn’t succeed, the gesture and helpfulness of the staff make me feel warm and grateful.

The reception staff for all 3 nights of my stay were very helpful in guiding me about where to eat, where to rxplore and how to get to the places of interest. Kudos to them our stay in Suzhou was a very wonderful experience! The room was also clean and tidy. The housekeeping staff made it a point to tidy the room everyday. Thanks much for the great stay here!

The hotel is just north of Suzhou Station, and you can walk through the underground pass to get there. I had a windowless room, but with the high ceilings and light decor I barely noticed the lack of natural light. The breakfast buffet was big and the selections changed a bit each day. There are several small convenience stores on the same block, plus a Luck in Coffee. One block over has a lot of small eateries that seemed to be open all night

Service staff was attentive to our requirement knew what we wanted. The room size was great with built in washer and dryer. The entire experience was unforgettable and worth talking about. The location was fantastic with teh railway station and metro across the road from the hotel. Will definitely book this hotel again.

The hotel has a great location, as it is within walking distance from several scenic spots, including the Bao’en Temple, the Humble Administrator’s Garden, the Lion Grove Garden, as well as various museums. The Suzhou Train Station is ~20 minutes away walking. Check-in was really efficient, there’s an elevator and all the stairs have ramps for suit cases, although they are a bit steep for wheelchair users, but this is on floors 2 and above. Despite the hallway rugs being dirty, the inside of the room was clean and smelled like it too. At your arrival there’s 2 water bottles, and everyday they replace them when they clean your room (or if you are there and don’t want it cleaned, they still offer you the water).

Very very satisfied with the stay. Wonderful service. They let me check in early, check out late without additional charge, and even help with free laundry service. Room is nice and comfy. Location is just directly in front of metro station. Couldn't ask for more.

Such a good value for nice hotel. Location is walking distance to Suzhou museum and Humble Admin garden. Close to 2 lines of metro. Flexible cancellations (I had to change date because of CNY transportation but they were willing to accomodate). Nice size room with complete amenities and Japanese-style toilet. One of the best value hotel I’ve stayed in China

Our first time staying at Mercure Shilu Shantang in Suzhou. The front desk customer service at this hotel is really impressive. We were given an early check-in which is a blessing and this is great especially we are travelling on a large group. Rooms are pretty spacious but do be careful some of the room are ”windowless” and air circulation might be a concern. If you feel the room is warm just switch off the ”air-conditioning” and the room temperature will go down, if you are staying in a room with windows you might want to air the room during the day and close the windows at night. On the breakfast end, I find that it is sufficient, not ”wow” but good enough. Location wise is strategic to the tourist spot such as 山塘街. A few times i needed help with calls and transport, the reception is very quick in their action and even offer us bottled water for our journey back. I won't hesitate to recommend this hotel. If you are asking about Accor ALL membership, nobody in the hotel seems to be knowing much about it.
