The sanitation, facilities and environment are all good. The service is OK, but there is no transportation to leave the hotel. I called the driver inside and agreed to 20 bob, but he charged another 20 bob, not RMB. (I gave bob change in USD, and it has not been delivered to the destination. Forget it. We are friendly countries. I will pay attention next time.

The facilities are terrible, there is no hot water, no towels, the mirror is installed too high so you can't see your face

Stay for two more days...it's relatively quiet here...experience a different style...it's a little far away from the old city, about 25 minutes' walk there

5 stars may seem generous given the amenities and facilities on offer. Yes, it's a bit dated but it's not the condition that warrants 5 stars. It is the staff on reception. I wish I got their names but they were incredibly friendly and helpful. The young man in particular (he's getting married soon) was wonderful and drove us to the station one morning. Plus the location is great; 5 minutes from the old town. I would recommend it highly.
