"We stayed for 2 nights in one of the rooms with private plunge pool; it was a great feature and made our stay unique. The outdoor bathroom was another unique feature, it was very cool but meant sometimes there would be insects. The hotel is located on beach on the east of the island where the boats dock and where most of the higher end bars/restaurants are. Also where most of the main party spots are. As soon as you walk out, you can hear the loud music. Thankfully we couldn’t hear this from the room. Breakfast was outstanding and the view from the restaurant stunning."

"Before writing this review, I thought for too long about whether I should write this or not.
I wish people didn't know how friendly and warm the staff at this hotel is.
I wish other people didn't know how happy it is to eat a delicious breakfast while listening to the sound of birds and carriages and the sea breeze.
I wish people didn't know how enjoyable it is to walk back to room with a clean and beautifully maintained garden.
Above all, I hope the others don't know how fantastic it is to sit on the beach in front of the hotel and drink beer while watching the sunset.
I hope that when I travel here again, people will notice what this place is good and it won't be so full that I won't be able to stay here.
I was planning to stay on the Gili for two days, but stayed for two more. Although I had to give up southern Bali tour, I was able to have a happier time thanks to it.

"Moderate hotel, the rooms are spacious. The location is perfect, it is located at the end of the *****.
The breakfast was moderate, you have all the options you want. You only need to wait a few moments for your eggs to be made by the chef.
The room itself was ok, airconditioning was working perfect. Only the pillows were way to big, and the bed too short. The shower was bad, because there was almost no pressure."

"The staff were amazing like everywhere in Bali, always happy to help & offered me specific meals for when I had Bali belly.
The room itself was quite small & bathroom was not amazing.
I did sleep well as the blinds are good and air con can easily be adjusted.
Water is provided but really they could give more than one bottle so you don’t have to request more.
I booked this place because reviews said breakfast was amazing but I honestly didn’t think it was that special. You pick a main off a menu & then there is a buffet of pastries (which were very good for hotel pastries), fruit & juice. Coffee is additional which for the price really should be included. Maybe better depending on what you order from the menu.
Location is the far side from the port but every resort still turns into a party venue playing loud music from 4pm. Can we not just sit and watch the sunset listening to the waves?
Beach on this side has a lot of coral/rocks so swimming in the ocean you need water shoes."

"It was a great stay! The location is perfect, close enough to all the bars and restaurants but just far away to enjoy some peace. The pool closes at 19:00. The breakfast is ala carte. The WiFi is okay. The staff is very friendly. I will recommend this hotel on Gili Trawangan island."

This little villa was the perfect peaceful retreat during my time on Gili T. The rooms were clean, cosy, and beautifully styled with natural wooden touches — you can tell real care has gone into the place.
But what truly made it special were the staff — incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. They went out of their way to make me comfortable and help with anything I needed, from local tips to arranging transport.
It’s tucked away in a quiet spot, but still just a short walk to the beach and restaurants. If you’re looking for a relaxed and authentic stay with warm hospitality, Java Wood is a gem. Highly recommend!"

"According to Google Maps, it's about 10 minutes from Gili Port, but it takes 20 minutes if you avoid the passing carriages and bicycles. Never drag a suitcase and take a carriage even if you pay some money.
The owner seems like a local person, but he is very kind and personable. The rooms are so-so, but I understand that Gili accommodations are generally of lower quality than Bali. However, it was a little disappointing that there was a lot of sand on the bed.
The room is so-so. The advantage of this accommodation is that Turtle Beach is right in front of the accommodation, and guests can use the sunbeds for free. A huge advantage is that you can safely leave your luggage in the room and go out to the sea right in front of it without having to carry any luggage! Be sure to meet Squirtle~ Bicycle rental seems to be free, but we didn't try it because we thought we had to pay."

The location is very remote, next to a farm. Often the farms burn wood and make bonfires and the rooms often smell like bonfire.

Very small rooms with no safe.
The hammocks haven’t been cleaned and some are mouldy.
The bathroom is located outside, therefore if you do not like the outdoors, this hotel might not be for you.

GGuest UserOne of the best hotels we’ve been to! We we’re very well received, and staff was super friendly. Breakfast was really good and so was the overall menu. The rooms we’re amazing, really big and spacious and we really enjoyed the outdoor bathrooms. Location was good, far from the busy and crowded center area but close enough by bike (10-15min), and you can rent them there. Rentals and bookings are a bit more pricey at the hotel, but definitely reliable and guaranteed! Swimming pool was great, and points for the front beach view! The owner of the hotel was also really friendly and helpful. Overall really good, and we can’t wait to go back!

CCN Man 420We stayed as two couples and had a spectacular time at Kelapa. Ren the manager was ready to help our every need straight away and helped us book bikes and trips. She went as far as confirming we didn't pay too much when we booked others on our own. The villa itself was clean, tidy and exactly what we were looking for. The pool is huge but rather deep for the most part so you'll want to keep an extra eye on children.
The Kelapa boys would come by to clean the place every morning about 10-11am and did an excellent job. They were very polite and made sure not to go into your room to clean without asking first.
I gave one less star on location because it's in the heart of the island where it's much quieter. If you're looking for a night out you'll definitely need a bike or carriage arranged, otherwise you can expect a long walk home.
We originally booked 3 nights and very quickly decided to add on to our stay. Thanks so much Ren and Team for an unforgettable visit!

GGuest UserDon’t believe the pictures in the advertisement! They don’t reflect reality. The pictures pretend that the hotel is at least a 4 * location. The truth is that this is not the case! It is located at a very poor area in mid of the island where local people burn their trash including plastic. The smell is disgusting it is everywhere, in your room also during night and it burns in your eyes. The hotel is run by a group of very young unprofessional boys and I would like to emphasise that they are really friendly, kind and helpful and try to do their best. They also prepare breakfast in a kitchen which is disgusting! Therefore, I preferred to have breakfast at a proper place even though breakfast was included. See the attached fotos to get an impression what expects you and better choose another hotel if you want to enjoy your holidays. I had to pay 400 € for 3 nights, it is not worth half the price. I tried to get a reimbursement but the hotel didn’t accept. They obviously see the hotel as a cash cow and not a place where their guest should feel comfortable. This was very frustrating! At the end Trip. com accepted my complaint and offered me help. My advice: Choose a hotel at the beach, there are so many!

LLaurie972Very beautiful place in front of the beach with an excellent staff and service. People are warm and very helpful if you have any questions or need any help. The rooms is clean and cozy.
The room for 2 is a bit small I will say, might need to choose a bigger option if you like having a bit more space. I will add that I thought it was a bit dark and missing some daily light inside. The bathroom outside with open sky was good until the rain and wind were too strong to actually use it. The environment around the hotel is very peaceful and not too busy compared to the center. You can easily rent a bike and go to the center at any time if you want. Very convenient. You have a very good restaurant next door with great selection or food and beverages as well.

AAiman izzGreat villa for a romantic getaway. The villa is beautiful, great private pool, well equipped kitchen to cook as well, bathroom was spacious but hope they can change the hairdryer because its too slow, friendly and helpful staff. All in all a super great stay!
The cons would be the location of the villa its a bit in the inland of the island about 5-7mins bike ride from the jetty / town centre, walking can take upwards to 15mins so do rent a bike right away when you arrive at the jetty or you could ride the horse carriage if you’re not bothered by the white people none sense. When at night the roads can be dark so make sure to bring flashlights and when it’s raining the roads can be a bit muddy.

NNicholasWe stayed in suite with sea view, which was a very beautiful room but would be more aptly named as poolside suite, since our view was mainly of the villas in front of us. We would have booked the ocean front villa but from the pictures it seemed like it wasnt very private and kind of the centre of everything, but those villas seemed much more private than the room we booked - pretty much in the reception of the villa. That being said, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the place only has 5 rooms, so it is quiet and you mostly get the pool to yourself and you can watch the sunset while swimming in the pool. The breakfast was good and the rooms were pristine and tastefully decorated. We would stay here again - just in a different room.

GGuest UserWe stayed at Samba Villas for 5 nights and loved the friendliness of the staff. The rooms were clean and were spacious. Good location and truly enjoyed the area. The staff greets you with a smile and willing to help in any way. We had back messages for a 1/2 hour every night and even got pedicures. Would highly recommend.

KKaren RostelWe were welcomed by welcoming drinks, the check in process was super easy, the host will took a photo of your passport and provide you the keys. the bed were clean but the floor was a bit dusty with few of the tiles are loose and not adhere to the floor, the host might need to take a not on this due to potential hazard to anyone. room comes with aircond and it can get pretty cold at night. it is just their location is quite pretty a distance, I recommend if you wanna stay here you might need to bring a backpack instead of a luggage. I rented a electric mini scooter from nearby the port for my transportation due I carried a luggage and it still took me 15 minutes ride from the room to the port, but if you bring a backpack you can rent a bicycle to go round the island. i had a nice stay 🙌🏻
