Find 2-Star Hotels in Kuala Terengganu

Cheap and ok for a night. The room did have a window but it was to an AC unit on the inside of the building but I suppose it was cheaper. Personally I would have preferred to just find another hotel by walking around but convenient to book online and not have to do that. Location is a bit out of the way but good to go running along the beach and some nice local eating places nearby.

Just OK to stay for 1 night. The room was really too small - imagine the sink could not fit into the bathroom and was located outside the bathroom. And, there were many many small ants all over the room and crawling on all the walls. We had arrived at 12pm and we had to wait for a long time for someone to turn up at reception. Then one lady arrived and checked for a long time only to tell us our room was not ready. Then, she said she would call us when our room was ready. Anyway, she lied as she did not call us at all. We turned up again at 3pm and got our room which was full of ants. I still gave a 4-star rating because of its good location where we could walk everywhere after parking our car. There was a car park behind (hourly meter paid via Touch n Go) or there were 3 free bays right outside the hotel. We tried to go to that cafe in the hotel which supposedly opened at 8am for breakfast. We arrived at 8am but the 2 ladies just refused to take our order as they said their order was not open yet. Then the guy from reception went to make his own coffee and at 8.10am we still could not order. Not sure why they were just not interested so we left and went to have breakfast in another hotel which ended up to be nicer and cheaper.

The hotel staff called me on the morning of check-in date to remind me of my booking and to confirm my check-in time. There’s a touch of attentiveness in this gesture. The family room is value for money for two nights’ stay in a strategic location (near Kuala Terengganu Chinatown). The hotel does not have its own car park; parking is the public parking bays along the street (daily rates are applicable but we didn’t have to pay because our stay was during the public holidays and the weekend). Our request for four single beds was fulfilled. Overall, we had a comfortable stay in this hotel. Just a bit of advice for future guests: There’s no elevator service in the building. Hence, please do not rate this hotel badly because of this fact. This hotel is near a mosque/ surau, so morning prayers can be heard clearly. Whilst this does not bother my family (this is after all rather common in Malaysia), light sleepers should take note. Again, please do not rate this hotel badly because of the morning prayers being heard.

Very strategic location. 2minutes walk from kuala terengganu bus station, 10 minute walk to pasar payang and closed to others shops too. Room was clean and well maintain. Water pressure the best. Thanks for the early check in. Definitely will come back if i were in terengganu.

With no presence of 5 star hotels in Kuala Terengganu, I had to find the best alternative. I was lucky to find Valya Hotel, situated in an area called Gong Badak. If you are having a hard time finding the perfect hotel, I think your search should end with this hotel. Look, I am someone who values good quality and top rated hotels for a comfortable stay. This hotel has many of the things I was looking for: - Free WiFi - Elevator - Close to shops, eateries, convenience stores (e.g. Jakel, Mydin, Watsons, 7-11, pharmacy etc) - Close to airport (less than 10 minutes) - Basic bath amenities and in-room slippers provided (towels, toothbrush are available) - Strong rain shower pressure, proper bidet These factors would suffice to ensure a comfortable and relaxing experience. The price point is extremely affordable. I booked a Superior Triple room with window. Although there is no ”view” from the window, you can still have some light shining through, for a less claustrophobic environment. Other things that were missing, but acceptable at the price you are paying: - No breakfast - No in-room safe - No dedicated parking space for hotel guests (more on this below) - No view from window (as mentioned) My main gripe will be parking, as mentioned by other guests who reviewed this property as well. As there are many shophouses, you should expect a chaotic and congested area full of vehicles during the day. Parking is chargeable at RM0.60 per hour, and you can pay for parking at the various stations around the parking lot, with some not functioning at all. It is a challenge to find space close to the hotel, and you will end up having to move your car closer to your hotel when the congestion clears up in the evening. Another plus staying here will be a self service laundromat on the other side of the row of shophouses. Overall, Valya Hotel is a perfect hotel for a comfortable stay in Terengganu. You can reach the city centre in mere minutes, and the airport is within close proximity. Highly recommended!

To be precise, it is an apartment. The bottom of the building. There is an elevator after a short flight of steps. The landlord we met was a grandmother and took us to a small office to check in at a simple fee. The room is very large, very comfortable, with a hall and a bedroom, it should be a remodeled apartment. There are not many hotel facilities. But we stayed on the island so we only stayed one night. This location is particularly suitable. You can walk to Chinatown and S Pier to Redang Island. The hotel’s left hand Chinatown, and the alley on the opposite side is the pier meeting place. The hotels that go to Redang Island are basically from here. Take a taxi to the airport for 30 MYR.

Arrived late around 4pm and the checked inn was smooth. This hotel got lift so it will be no problem. Got free parking behind the hotel within 100meters. Room was acceptable as we used to sleep only so dont really care so much. It was good budget stay if u are travelling here. Overall was a fine stay
