"The host Ah Wei is a gem . He always greet you with a smile and accommodate our meal request . He will suggest certain local harvested vegetables which were so delicious , cooked by him. Knowing what we wish to eat for dinner, he ensured that the ingredients were prepared ahead as they needed a certain amount of time to season them. He gave us good explanation of the various items we saw in the hall as we were both quite curious what they were. There was never an attempt to sell it. He also gave us a good history lesson on the origin of their village, and the various tulos. Finally, we requested his help for a transfer and because of his connections, it was well arranged. Thank you Ah Wei for welcoming us to your home and the 6 meals in your place were very very good."

"Visited my ancestral traditional living squatters built as a consolidated united community for better living environments and survival. There are still many families living in the tulou. Main business is agriculture and tourism. The roads leading to the tulou are made up of irregularly shaped stones. As such, it’s not easy to pull the big luggage along (few hundred metres walk). Recommend to carry backpacks for short stays, leave the big luggage at the tourists centre. Good experience to live together with friendly people whom I can practice my Hakka. They also provide home-cooked meals, reasonable prices. Good food."

"Very good, the room is clean and tidy, the space is big enough, the breakfast is good, and the price is high. Although it is a bit biased, the surrounding commercial outlets are far away, but the self-driving passengers are not much. There is no toilet in the bathroom, it is a squat pit, pay attention to hygiene, but it is not convenient for people who can't squat. It may be better if you can install a handle on the side."

"What an amazing experience to live in the “chopsticks” buildings of the four dishes and one soup! This was a small and beautiful village and the family who ran the inn helped us carry our luggage up to the inn and later down to the inn. When we arrived they cooked a dinner which was reasonable in price based on a local menu. And then during dinner, they told us that one of the family members will be running a free tour of the Tulous of four dishes one soup for us in which they explained the history of the building of the tulous, especially the oval shaped tulou. Our guide was very funny with his stories (he spoke in Chinese) and it was a lovely time seeing the artists and candy makers in the Tulous. I would highly recommend this place. We did have to bring our own towels (or at least we brought our own and they didn’t supply one), so maybe best to check."

"The room is on the second floor of a quaint Nanjing earth building (they have square and round earth buildings). Authentic, each bathroom and toilet is separated. Awesome👍. If you like luxury hotels, you don’t need to choose his hotel. Her hotel is a good place to experience the local lifestyle with green mountains and green waters, the forest is quieter than the noisy frogs and the cicadas, and the mountain with the singing birds is even more secluded. "The location of the hotel is fantastic and our room looked directly over the tulou cluster. If you don't mind climbing up steps, you can walk to the high level observation platform in about 15 minutes for a stunning view over the valley. The rooms and facilities are basic but clean and there is plenty of hot water. As elsewhere in China the mattresses are very hard but okay for a couple of nights. The couple who run the business are very friendly and helpful and, if you don't want to eat out, they offer good and tasty home cooking."

"Excellent service + authentic Tulou + excellent location + affordable price! ! ! After living abroad for a long time, I came back to celebrate the New Year. I drove all the way from Shanghai with my family and pets. There are three places in China that I want to visit: Tibet, Jiuzhaigou, and Fujian Tulou; especially the animated film ”Big Fish and Begonia” a few years ago, which has a plot about Tulou. I found this accommodation temporarily on Ctrip. It was an authentic Tulou with a very affordable price. The service was especially touching. The boss lady was warm and down-to-earth. After I called the ticket office at the scenic spot to communicate, she was waiting by the roadside early. The paths in the scenic spot are narrow, the navigation is winding, there are many cars, and we often have to merge with other cars. We also encountered the car in front of us falling into a ditch (which was thrilling to watch). We saw a kind auntie wearing high-heeled leather shoes and a skirt helping to push... After we arrived at the B&B, the auntie followed us and said hello, and we learned that she was the boss here, and the person who fell into the ditch was not a guest here. She also mentioned details such as my family being unwell later. This auntie is really kind, and it’s not because she does this business, but because of the kindness of human nature. Before leaving, the family photo she helped to take made us exclaim ”WoW” again and again 👍It is very close to the core attractions such as Tulou (if you stay here, those popular check-in Tulou will be Fuyun), the big banyan tree, and the waterwheel, only a few minutes' walk; there are also many farm dishes nearby (some of them are overcharged and we have encountered them). It is recommended to buy a set meal on Dianping.com, at least the price is clearly marked. Although there are many people in Yunshui Yao Scenic Area, the experience is not bad. This accommodation experience is really pleasant! Of course, we have to be honest. Since the bathroom in the Tulou is a later renovation, please manage your expectations. I wish you all have fun and I hope the boss auntie will do better and better!"
