Amanpulo, meaning ‘peaceful island’, is a secluded island retreat that bestows a safe, private escape to nature. Fringed by 5.5 km of white-sand beaches, surrounded by turquoise waters and a coral reef, Amanpulo is accessible via private plane from Manila in a 70-minute flight that touches down on the island’s very own runway. This is a stunning island with one of the most beautiful beaches and water anywhere in the world - personally I think better than the Maldives, Seychelles, Mozambique. The staff and the service is faultless throughout so your experience on the island is exclusive and private. We were particularly well served by Jesie, our butler, who was charming and discreet and helpful although we were pretty self contained guests. Ian at the Lagoon Club made our stay particularly enjoyable. He was incredibly attentive and professional - a genuine enthusiast for his job and for the Aman brand. The villas are very well appointed and well designed but not as spectacular as some of the other Aman properties we have been to or private island villas in North Island or Miavana for example. We moved from Villa 6 which was unrenovated and felt very tired (noisy air conditioning etc) to a refurbished villa which was much better and closer to what would expect for the price point. The move was handled swiftly and efficiently. Villas are spacious with large pools and very private. Some of the outdoor furniture has seen slightly better days and the equipment in the very well appointed and spacious gym is not the most up to date but, - again, this is in comparison with other Aman’s - Management curiously absent. We met no one from senior management in 12 days but we didn’t really need to I guess and wasn’t a major issue. Overall we will definitely return. This is is an incredibly well run property on a spectacular island with

The hotel environment and service are very good, and the privacy is good. It is suitable for couples and families to book a bay view room. It is more beautiful than the picture. Every day, I open the window and look at the scene in front of me. I feel particularly good. Breakfast is charged separately. The American breakfast set tastes great. Burgers, pasta, pizza, pineapple juice and cocktails are also good. Meals are not expensive except for the expensive ones. Friends highly rate beef burgers.

Excellent place for staycation with family and loved ones if you want a place where you can relax and breathe sea breeze with nice ambience. Has friendly, approachable and professional hotel staffs, rooms are opened using a key card - spacious with minimalist designs, beds and comforters are nice, with free water bottles, water heater and coffee. The buildings have elegant structures. They also have really great swimming pool area! We got a room that is pool access and it made our stay more wonderful. Foods are delicious. Great buffet set up. Sunset can be watched at the rooftop of the gazebo near the seashore. You can borrow and ride a bicycle inside the hotel premises and do kayaking if the sea is high tide. Very nice and instagrammable place! Will definitely come back here for sure.

First of all, let me start by saying how much we LOVED our stay. The location is absolutely stunning, and we had an amazing stay. First and foremost, I want to thank to all the staffs esp to Aj ( who made our stay extra special. The food for me was exceptional, they had a wide variety of cuisines, and I was there for 2 nights and didn't have a bad meal while I was there. I felt the food price was very reasonable given the location, service and quality Astoria set the bar incredibly high and for someone who considers themselves to have a vacation I would highly recommend this place.

The facility itself is nice but for the my version of a 5 star rating the resort would need to meet the standard of Peninsula Tokyo or the Park Hyatt in Kyoto. Unfortunately the facility doesn’t not meet that standard. What will make up for the lack of the amenities, cleanliness and attention to detail is the service provider. From the front desk to the waiter and waitress, to the cleaning Male/ladies, the service staff will go above and beyond to meet your needs. Last draw back is the sand flies (nik nik as the locals refer to them) are pesky little suckers….literally which makes one hesitant to enjoy the beautiful beach on the resort…which then leads to you missing the beautiful sunrise and sunset that one would expect in paradise. Over all, yes i would gladly return to this facility. It is probably the best on the island but I cannot on good conscience say the this is a 5star resort.

This has been the best hotel I’ve ever stayed. The hotel is brand new and all the facilities are so beautiful! Nearby there is a village with locals and there are a lot of nice shops and cafes with local cheap food. Very convenient!
What strikes you there as well is how good the service is. Everyone is highly competent and sincerely happy. I want to say a BIG thank you to Niki at the reception and Amy in the restaurant. They are so professional and just excel at their jobs. Overall, we had amazing time there.

This is supposedly the only 5 star resort in the area which is sad as I think competition might actually inspire them to do better. The place itself is very nice and initial impressions are quite excellent. But the longer we stayed the more we noticed the lack of upkeep in the rooms. The size of the bathroom is big but there is not a single electrical outlet inside so you cannot plug in anything not even the hairdryer. The shower glass door does not close shut and with the very strong water pressure you can be assured of a very wet overflowing floor outside of the shower enclosure. We paid for 2 extra persons in the room which they informed us meant sharing the beds and breakfast inclusive but they don’t automatically provide the extra towels. Even after calling them to request for more towels they still took more than 2 days to give us our extra towels. The water in the pool is quite warm and not refreshing as the heat of the sun kept it quite warm but some of our friends actually liked it that way so it’s more of a personal preference. The drying rack in the balcony is a nice touch as we can dry our swim clothes there. There are also water dispensers in the hallway which is great for refilling the complimentary glass bottles of water provided. Buffet breakfast is included in the room rates but don’t expect anything extraordinary. The Italian restaurant in the resort does not seem to be ready for the tourist influx as food came out ever so slowly and we felt bad for the foreign tourists who don’t complain as much as the locals so we did get our food faster than they did. The resort is expanding so there is construction ongoing which is a positive sign of tourist revival in PP which I’m happy about for them but I wish they would also pay closer attention to the upkeep of the existing rooms.

Outstanding
CConnector29012214257Surprisingly good! What makes Spin Hostel special, primarily, is the exemplary staff. Friendly, outgoing, humorous and helpful. Not the fanciest hotel that I’ve ever stayed in, but, undoubtedly, the best breakfast of them all. Good coffee, too. An omelette station with the most cheerful guy running it. Keep in mind that El Nido is a complete zoo: the traffic is loud and there are always the ubiquitous roosters ensuring that you do not sleep in. Don’t forget your earplugs!
NNienThe service in the hotel is great, the staff are very considerate and ask for your needs, and everyone is very enthusiastic! The meals are delicious, the menu has many choices, and the meals recommended by the staff are also great. The facilities are very comfortable and very suitable for diving. You can enjoy various services and beaches in the resort without diving. It is a very good place for vacation. Place 👍
GGuest UserPros and cons. The island was great, we loved our stay at the cottage. But the service was not so good. Pros: - The island was great. Major plus points for the house reef and grass bed that attracts fish and sea turtles. There were birds and the monitor lizards on the island! - The view from our sunrise cottage was great. The rooms were clean and the toiletries complete. - Transport to and from the island went smoothly. - Massage was great! Cons: - We arrived at around 1pm (official check in time is 3pm). The staff told us they would call us when our room was ready. Many groups of arrivals were steadily being escorted to their rooms but not us. At 230pm I went back to the reception and was told our rooms had been ready earlier! But NO ONE let us know. At this point, they gave me the key card but no one made a move to escort us to our rooms and I had to ask if they could give us our luggage so we can go the room already before the receptionist accompanied us. - There is no comfortable place to wait or change clothes while waiting for your room. Basically people are sitting on the pool loungers in their pants/shoes from the airplane. - We signed up for the hike, we were told some one would text us to confirm time and meeting place, NO ONE called. - Basically, any time they tell you they'll call you, NO ONE did. I had to call multiple times and actually go the reception to get any response. - The restaurant was not full yet it was very hard to get the attention of any server. The food also took 30-40 minutes to serve. Kudos to the one lady server who served our lunch everyday for 3 days, she was the only one who helped us. - Used plates/utensils were left on the restaurant tables for a long time. We sat down as the neighboring party left and we were already done, their plates were still sitting on the table (being snacked on by the birds). This happened every meal (and we're slow eaters, at least 45 minutes). - Towels and plates/cups by the pool loungers also not cleared for hours. - Breakfast and dinner buffet were just okay. Nothing to write home about.
GGuest UserThis place is obviously still struggling from the effects of the Covid lockdowns. The staff is the best part of this place. The air conditioner is undersized & has a daylight gap all around it. The room refrigerator is worthless because its electric circuit shuts down when you leave the room. Who wants to come back from a trip & grab a warm drink from the ref? Breakfast buffet is pretty slim. They post signage asking you to conserve water, but they don't even include water saving faucets or shower heads. And then there were the bugs. If I had known that they are offering 'Hourly Rates' I would have avoided this place.
GGuest UserWe stayed in a seaside-view room and thoroughly enjoyed the soothing sounds of the waves throughout our stay. The view of the open sea was stunning, and it was a great spot for paddleboarding. Overall, the hotel was lovely, with a comfortable atmosphere and excellent amenities.
GGuest UserThe resort is in a great location with a small but quiet beach and a nice house reef outside. Beware that some units require walking up a lot of steps and the ones set away from the beach have a lot of mosquitoes around.
The staff are super friendly and nice although the service of the hotel could be more attentive i.e when lying on the beach you don’t get asked if you want drinks. Room cleaning was only done once in our 7 day stay and only because we asked for it. Towels are not automatically offered to beach goers all the time.
The restaurant is pretty slow with almost an hour for food to arrive sometimes. The food itself can be nice depending on what you order. Some is pretty good actually…others a bit average.
Pricewise, this isn’t a cheap hotel and I feel that if you compare the price to resorts in other tropical beach locations around the world, you get much better service in other places like Sheratons, Marriotts and Hiltons etc. that said, overall I would still recommend Matinloc for the great beach and reef.
445daWe spent a week while in this hotel is very well hosting the boss speaks very well French ! Comfortable room pleasant bathroom sympathetic decorations very gentle price bravos to remake André
GGuest UserStayed here due to lack of options frankly when booking a hotel for Coron. It obviously fancies itself as a nice resort but it's slightly on the tacky side. To be clear, the staff are very nice and check in was smooth. The pool area resembles that of a slightly tacky European resort and isn't as fancy as it wants to be. The breakfast was lacking and pretty basic. The room is nice and clean. The resort is a bit far out of the town but that's not a bad thing. A tricycle is 40 pesos per person. The hotel transfer from the airport was more expensive than hotels which are closer to the town and so further from the airport!
Overall it's fine but we stayed in another hotel in Coron after this one and preferred that one. I probably wouldn't stay here again. It's certainly not bad but not superb for the price.
LLizeka YonelaThe staff is amazing. It’s right in front of the beach. Great atmosphere. The rooms don’t have WiFi it’s only available in the lobby. This can be a huge inconvenience! Zipline is outside etc. the bike rates and boat rates are more expensive than the neighbors. Save some money and rent these outside! Breakfast buffet is so so. Come with cash they don’t swipe.
CCzarEmmanuelWe stayed at this hotel for five days and four nights. When we arrived, we were very happy being given a big air-conditioned room on the third floor with a queen-size bed, a mini sala, a balcony, a toilet and a shower room in one with both a shower box and a bathtub. There was also a TV with cable channels, a safety box and a small fridge. Everything would have been great except that there was a five-hour power interruption and the hotel's generator was not working. That same night there was another power interruption, which kept us awake and we had no other choice but wait for the power supply to be restored. At any rate, the hotel's generator was fixed on our third day of stay. This hotel must have had its heyday in the past, but now it looks kinda old and outdated. It has no elevator and the premises (particularly the corridors) look more like those of a hospital. The facilities are also old and worn out (like the room carpet, the sofa in our room, etc.). The linen and towels also need to be changed. Once in a while there's also some problem with the water pressure and the cable channels. There's also no WIFI in the rooms. You need to go to the reception area to get a signal. On the positive side, this hotel's location is great. Everything is just a stone's throw away from it ... travel agencies, public market, bars, restaurants, van terminal, and so forth. The price of the accommodation is also economical and the staff try to respond as promptly as possible to your needs as much as they can.
