My partner and I spent a great night at The Prince Rupert. Pros: it is a beautiful period building, in a fantastic location in central Shrewsbury. The room we had was pretty, with all necessary mod cons, with a very comfortable bed. Check in was easy and the breakfast, included in the booking price, was very good. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and I would certainly recommend anyone reading to consider a stay. Cons: parking is a few minutes away from the hotel. There are lots of narrow roads up to the hotel and I would advise anyone at the hotel reading this to clarify exactly where the parking is to customers before booking. If this is widely available and I have missed it, then this is on me as a customer. The other thing is there were some darker, slightly dingy parts of the hotel when walking through to our room. Some of this will be due to the nature of the hotel being a period building, but if you are a customer looking for a light, bright, modern hotel, this is not the hotel for you. Please note my criticisms are nit-picks and nothing more. In summary: a very competitively priced hotel with a lovely interior/exterior, friendly staff and one I can definitely say is the kind of place you can take someone to impress them.
