"The experience at Perhentian Marriott was a rollercoaster. Firstly, the initial service and welcome we received was excellent. The clean private jetty,  clean and comfortable ferry, baggage handling and the buggy service straight up to our room in the hotel was a very warm and pleasant welcome. The hotel staff explicitly told us to buggy everywhere in the hotel.  Next, came the troubles. The room was beautiful (don’t get me wrong) but poorly refreshed for our stay. The usual menu/file was empty with nary any instructions or introduction on how to call for a buggy or the breakfast timings etc. usual stuff you’d find upon reaching the hotel room. The fridge was unclean and bath essentials not topped up. We called for housekeeping not wanting to let it spoil our vacation. After a sumptuous dinner (the hotel dinner buffet is actually really good sans the fact that they don’t tell you that the drinks counter is payable), we returned to dirty linen right outside our door (they removed the towels provided and did not replace we were left without towels) and opened water bottles in the cupboard. That’s not all, the water heater was down and there was no communication from the hospitality staff when the engineering team is fixing the heater or if it has been fixed. (We only found out they restarted the heater after we initiated a follow up with the team). The next day, as I attempted to take a bath I turned on the bath water and out spurted 100% hot water that scalded my knee. I called for burn cream and the hotel reception told us they did not have a first aid kit and instructed us to head to the store to purchase. No follow up on the matter and no acknowledgement of the issue is made from the team. It was a constant issue of us turning on the water (right in the middle, not hot not cold) for the taps and showers to spurt 100% hot water and us avoiding it.  The only redeeming point is that every restaurant, every in person staff we encountered from the buggy services to the pool side staff to the restaurant waitress everyone was lovely and warm.   (P.s. the route to long beach is fret with rubbish and flies)"

"Hotel best gilaaa!!, service veryyy the tiptop. Service kena dengan hotel 5star veryy friendly ye staff dia. Setiap petang akan dapat free drink and sedap ye smoothie dia. Breakfast palinggg onzz yee mcm mcm pilihan. Bilik overall okayy cuma takde tv. Plus staff akan kemas bilik and topap balik air botol if dh habis. Then, Area hotel banyak kedai makan waktu malam juga so u guys takkan boring. Mknn sedap2 cuma aga priceyyy sikit la. Jadi kene standbyyy wangg yg byk coz of dlm tu tkde atm."

"We stayed at Mimpi Perhentian Resort Hotel at the end of June for 3 days and 2 nights, and we regretted not booking a longer stay. Our sea view triple room was perfect for our little family of three, including our six-year-old boy. The resort offers the best views on Long Beach, and we loved the chill vibes in the morning and the lively atmosphere in the evening and night. Booking all our island trips through the hotel was super convenient since we could charge everything to our room. We did snorkeling during our island tour, which is an absolute must-do when you’re on the island. The rooms were exceptionally clean, with comfortable beds, strong air conditioning, and great water pressure for showers. The saltwater hotel pool was also charming and a great spot to relax. We appreciated having the staff handle our luggage and bags, bringing them from the jetty at Kuala Besut all the way to our room at the hotel itself, which was superb! The boat ride to the island was also great, seeming more luxurious than the ones offered by the other resorts on the island. Each and every single staff throughout the hotel was amazing and friendly; making our stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was just okay, but no worries! There are plenty of cafes just a stone’s throw away with affordable, really good food covering almost all cuisines. A beautiful stroll away, these cafes added to the charm of our stay. Mimpi Perhentian truly is a dream come true. We can’t wait to return!"

"Nous avons passé un très bon séjour à l’hôtel Villamas. Le personnel est vraiment au petit soin, toujours disponible et attentionné, ce qui a rendu notre expérience encore plus agréable. L’emplacement est plutôt bon : c’est calme, pas trop fréquenté, ce qui est parfait pour se détendre. Il n’y a que deux hôtels dans le coin, donc on évite la foule. On y trouve quelques restaurants à proximité, dont un local qui propose aussi un service de taxi et des activités — très pratique ! À noter : comme on est sur une île, il faut s’attendre à croiser quelques petites bêtes, mais rien de surprenant ou gênant dans ce contexte naturel. En résumé, un séjour reposant, avec un accueil chaleureux et un cadre tranquille. Nous recommandons sans hésiter !"

"In general, we've had excellent time in the PIR. The resort is good, located on a beautiful sandy beach with incredible snorkelling opportunities; the territory is nice and spacious. With that being sad, the hotel should be better maintained - some bed linen and towels are so old they have holes in them, there are barely any sunbeds on the beach, etc. Also, the restaurant's food leaves much to be desired. The spa is, however, rather nice, as well as the dive centre."

"Everything is relative. For perhentian, barat is one of the cleaner hotels around. But for the price I paid during super peak season, one would expect cleaner services. I waited hours for the room to be ready, which I can understand as the night before was fully booked and I arrived before the official check in time. However, when I was finally able to check into my room,, the shampoo packet from the previous guest wasn't picked up and the drain hole still had hair. Towels were also damp. Once we got over this initial disappointment, I was quite happy for the rest of my time there. Room was well equipped with a kettle, hair dryer, fan and super cool air conditioning, the latter was crucial to alleviate the record heat we are experiencing. Location was superb as well. You can go snorkeling at the beach outside the neighboring hotel, where you can see baby sharks hanging around the rocks. I was assured by the staff that momma shark don't hunt there. I guess they are right since I lived to write this review. Those a little braver can swim out to turtle point (life jacket recommended). Every morning, loads of boats arrive here to drop off eager snorkelers hoping to catch a glimpse of turtles. It's nice to have the option to go anytime at your leisure, staying at barat hotel nearby."

"We stayed in a chalet. The chalet was very basic, without a cupboard, a shelf... but really spacious. The bathroom was also large, the shower jet was very weak. The artificial grass in front of the door was inconvenient, just wooden planks would have been much more practical. All in all we were quite satisfied with the location and the spacious room. We thought the price was way too high for what we got, and the staff hardly seemed to know anything. One young man was very friendly but quite helpless, the others were not friendly. One man even looked at you disapprovingly when you brought something to the fridge, because he thought it was unthinkable that a can of beer would be put in his fridge."

"Facilities: Although the room is large, the toilet is broken. Although it was repaired in time, there is no suitable place to hang clothes. Hygiene: The room is clean, but the food in the restaurant is not fresh, and there are small insects (but it is the same on the whole island) Environment: Very good, in a corner of Pulau Besar, very quiet and beautiful, you can see the pictures I uploaded. It is very primitive, and you can see wild big lizards, see the pictures and videos I uploaded. Service: The staff is very patient and enthusiastic to provide service I will definitely choose this place next time I go to Pulau Besar, it is great👍"
