La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Roanoke Salem

We usually stay at Holiday Inn Express but had Wyndham Rewards Points to use. It was every bit as nice. Looked recently renovated. Nice breakfast but not as many choices as HIE. Would gladly stay again. The pool looked nice and clean but we did not use it. Employees were very nice.
Fairfield Inn & Suites Roanoke Salem

Everything was great except the breakfast. I know COVID changed the breakfasts but at this point Fairfield Inn needs to go back to the way it was. There were no bread, english muffin or bagel options. Just premade breakfast sandwiches and omelets. The slim pickings had us change our plans and hit Cracker Barrel instead. This is shame. I guess the days of the oatmeal pot and waffle maker are gone for good. I hope the powers that be can improve the breakfasts because I'm a loyal Marriott customer but for the money, I'd be better off spending a little more on a night at the Springhill Suites line to get a better breakfast rather than Fairfield Inn since I wound up paying for a breakfast elsewhere
Days Inn by Wyndham Salem

We stayed here 2 nights under two different reservations as we didn't know we'd be in town the 2nd night. The first night, room 125, was pleasant enough. Lacked a little in the way of cleanliness but you could tell there had been an attempt to clean it. Second night, room 101, really lacked in cleanliness. Old coffee still in the coffee pot, pretty sure dried nasal mucus on the bathroom wall, pee spots on the floor in front of the toilet. The heat in 101 was temperamental, we either roasted at 71 or froze at 70. Breakfast was okay enough for us, yogurt, banana, waffle. There is a Hardees, McDonald's, and Starbucks within walking distance. To end on a good note, all the employees we encountered during check-in and check-out were extremely friendly and welcoming. We would stay again when traveling through the area.
Avid Hotel Salem

We stayed one night on a trip back to Canada from Florida. It is a wonderful hotel. Super clean, organized, friendly and accommodating staff, extremely quiet hotel. Didn't hear a peep and it was nearly full. We were late for breakfast, but the staff went into their kitchen and brought us bunch of things. I will always stay here on our trips back and forth and I will look for Avid hotels where ever I travel. I have no complaints about anything. It was so relaxed and welcoming, and the best clean and of course brand new. I loved it.
