Rijswijk Hotels with Bars

When we arrived the reception was empty. There was not even a welcome drink in the room. The cleanliness of the hotel in general and the room in particular left a lot to be desired. Nothing you would expect from a 5 star hotel.The room was horribly decorated. The rug under the bed was completely crooked, and a wooden lamp that almost pierced my eyes twice. Over the bed there was a button that said do not disturb with a night light so bright it was impossible to sleep well. The bedroom furniture was old and chipped.The bathtub had one of the faucets broken.The hotstone massage was one of the worst ever. Impossible to relax when the masseuse tries to make conversation and makes so much noise with the stones that it is impossible to relax even 1 min. The pool was okay. The rest of the SPA we did not try.We booked dinner at reception but when we arrived at the restaurant there was no reservation. The rest was across the street from the hotel, very uncomfortable having to go out to dinner in another building, especially on a cold and rainy day. But the worst was yet to come. We asked if it would be possible to make a bowl of rice or pasta for our 3 year old daughter but they refused. What restaurant, much more than 5 stars, refuses to make a simple rice for a child? Neither the poorest restaurant nor a 3 star hotel. Then we ordered fondue for two. When the waitress brought us the food came a plate with 5 small pieces of grilled meat and a tiny bowl of fries. When we said that it was not what we had ordered, but the fondue, they told us that the restaurant no longer made fondue. But then why was it on the menu? Why didn't the employee who served us the first time inform us that there was no fondue? As the dish that came was very little food for 2 adults and 1 child, we ordered another steak. Waiting another 30 min. When the waitress came with the plate, she dumped the fries all over the floor. We had to wait a little longer for the fries.The steak was good but for 30€ you expected a little more than 5 tiny strips of meat and a small bowl of pre-fried supermarket potatoes. Needless to say, our 3 year old daughter ate very poorly.Definitely untrained and very unfriendly staff.Breakfast was mediocre for a 5 star hotel. Breakfast at the level of a 2 star pension. 5 star hotel has absolutely nothing. At most 3 stars and already very forced. In the end they wanted to charge us 15€ for the car park when the reservation we made on booking.com said that the car park was free. As we complained about the bad service they did, they decided to withdraw the 15€ from the final bill and the two tonic waters we drank for dinner. Hotel not recommendable at all.

Hôtel bastion plus propre que le précédent mais malheureusement toujours pas à la hauteur de son prix malgré tout. Pour un cours séjour afin de juste dormir sur place cela suffit attention aussi au restaurant que je trouve cher pour ce que c’est ainsi que le « verre offert » normalement dans tout les bastion hôtel, celui ci a été « oublier » lors de notre arrivés nous l’avons donc demander au cours du service du soir, la première serveur semblait ne pas savoir de quoi nous parlions et a demander sa responsable celle ci nous a demander si nous voulions qu’elle aille voir elle aussi son supérieur, par politesse et surtout par gène nous avons déclinés cette offre ensuite nous avons quand même été voir le réceptionniste afin de payer notre repas et ainsi lui toucher un mot sur ce fameux ticket qui au final nous a été tendu tant bien que mal. Nous avons effectivement vu qu’il ne le donnais à aucun clients serais donc dû à un oubli ou à l’envie de ne pas faire profiter de cette offre qu’eux même ont mit en place ? En soit l’hôtel est suffisant mais ne vous attendais à du grand luxe surtout pour un 4 étoiles.

We’ve stayed here before so knew what to expect. Returned for a 4 night stay in September during the heat wave and had a brilliant time. Hotel is super clean and the room amenities are fantastic. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Air con is brilliant as are the showers! The front desk staff were really helpful letting us check in some 3 hours early as we’d travelled through the night. 5* what’s not to love!

Set in a beautiful park, we had a lovely 3-night stay. The brasserie staff were kind and helpful. We ate 'in' the first night and though a wider selection of vegan options should be available, the vegan burger was tasty and very well presented. The room was clean and comfortable. The only issue was no door in the bathroom area. While some may appreciate their partner's toilet noises, I am way too British to find this a plus. Please attach some doors!!! That said, I recommend the hotel unreservedly. It is an accessible tram ride into town. PS beautiful chickens outside , we loved them .
