Reykjavik Hotels with Airport pickup service

My wife and I stayed here for four nights before embarking on a cruise. Room was very comfortable and was serviced every day at our request. When departing and boarding the cruise ship my wife realized that her small jewelry case was missing. I immediately contacted the hotel by email and within 10 minutes had the response that item had been located. Hotel offered to send it back to states but within a female minutes suggested that she would give item to taxi driver who within an hour delivered it to ship. Definitely will recommend hotel to others visiting wonderful Reykjavík

The staff, accommodations, and location at the Reykjavik Residence Hotel were exceptional! We traveled with 3 families from the USA to Iceland with our elderly parents as part of our dad's 80th birthday bucket list. We corresponded with the hotel staff via email before our trip and they were very prompt and helpful in answering questions. You never know when you're emailing a hotel operation if you'll even get a reply. Imagine our delight when they replied quickly and were extremely helpful, even with offering restaurant suggestions or to call taxis for us. We organized the airport pickup car service which made our arrival very easy. With 6 people and lots of luggage, the car size was adequate and driver very professional. The driver took us to the hotel reception desk. We'd taken a red-eye flight and the hotel staff greeted us with a very warm welcome. They offered us coffee, a place to sit, and use of bathrooms. The reception area was comfortable and the bathroom even had a full-size luxurious tiled shower if needed (definitely not a truck stop shower here!). Our rooms weren't ready so they stored our luggage at no charge and were very accommodating when we needed to retrieve items. Upon check-in, they called a taxi to transport us and our luggage and to the building. It was only a few minutes walk, but this was very thoughtful considering it was a cold and windy winter day. Our building was newly renovated and was very clean and fresh. We had rooms on the basement level, the main level, and the top floor. Each room was spacious, had a large kitchen, and clean and comfortable bathrooms. The basement room had a full-size sliding door that walked outside. The top room had a mini balcony that overlooked the harbor. We'd read some reviews about a sulphur smell in the bathrooms or the water supply. We didn't experience this at all. In fact, we routinely filled our water bottles with the tap water in the rooms and it was perfect to drink. They performed daily housekeeping service automatically and we left laundry one day which was returned within 24 hours with no problems. Definitely take the breakfast option. The bread is baked fresh, filled with air pockets and crusty outside. Hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt (skyr), meats, and cheese. This was a great way to start the day. Coffee was included in the room and the kitchens also had mini-fridges which included a supply of milk and apple juice. The beds were very comfortable and rooms were well-heated. Wi-fi was fast and included. We spent one week at the hotel and highly recommend staying here. It was the size and layout of an apartment, with the amenities and service of a 5-star hotel. Things to watch out for: If you're traveling with others, try to arrange to be in the same building. The buildings are definitely spread out and are a far distance from the reception area. A good little hostel with the front staff being very friendly. This hostel is not at BSI bus station which is where fly bus airport transfers arrive and depart. It is a 15 minute walk from BSI bus station, but there are many tour buses that stop here. The kitchen and bathrooms were always very clean and you could see someone always mopping or cleaning. The room was very hot so pack light Pyjamas. Also there are no women only dorms!!! I thought I was booking a women only dormitory but men were in there too. One man had booked a man only dorm but obviously they don't have this either. The website and the trip.com descriptions clearly need udpating.

The location of the hotel is really good, at the end of the commercial street, it is lively to go out, and it is also close to the landmark Sun Boat. There is a Domino's Pizza opposite the hotel, there is a Bonus supermarket 300 meters away, and the free parking lot is great. The decoration is really a bit old, but the sanitary condition is worthy of reassurance.

The waiter can't have an extra bed after work, give us a bigger room, the surrounding is quite convenient, the hotel restaurant is OK, but prefer other restaurants around, the room is very clean and new, suitable for parents. The room is large and the hotel design is very beautiful, Nordic style. very quiet. There is an Icelandic Immigration History Museum downstairs, don't miss it.

This hotel had such a lovely “feel” to it. Staff were lovely, homemade cake every afternoon and tea and coffee from 12 midday to 1am… perfect if you’ve been out looking for the Northern lights or whales! Hotel had a car park. Breakfast was lovely rye breads, jams, boiled eggs, yoghurt’s, muesli, granola ( with loads of toppings to add) cheese, cold meats etc.

I came here before and commented that check-in was at another place. Sure enough... I think the hotel should send us an email to tell us that it is difficult to carry luggage all the way in the snow... The place to stay is okay and has everything we need. It is within walking distance to various attractions. The staff are also very nice and the hygiene is good. Only the check-in aspect needs to be improved...

The location of the hotel is very good. First of all, across the road from the hotel is the main street of Iceland. All the shops are concentrated in this area. The urban attractions, such as the cathedral, the presidential palace, and the concert hall, can all be reached on foot. There is a 24-hour convenience store next to the hotel, where you can buy food and drink 24 hours a day. The hotel is clean and quiet. Don't worry about not having enough bathrooms. There are three bathrooms on the first floor, which are completely sufficient. There is no one at the front desk. You need to press the door horn and he will open the door for you and tell you which room you are in. Just go into the room directly. The room key is on the table.

The location of the hotel is great. There is a great bar downstairs that supposedly has live music every night. The hotel is very safe, a password is required to enter at night. The hotel staff are nice and the rooms are clean.

Absolutely 5 star experience! Hotel mamma (local Icelandic) is the sweetest and most warm hearted person I met in a long time. She clearly loved to nurture and care for her guests. We got bumped up and had a suite for 3 days. Such a beautiful ambient atmosphere. The best home smoked salmon for breakfast and pukka tea! Simply a place full of love. I will come back any time
