I’m trying to write a balanced review … so here goes … Benefits: Location Clean rooms L’OR coffee machine … but there is a but later on …. Nice chocolate offered on check in but just slapped into my hand! 2 x bottles of water offered again just dumped into my hand no here we are complementary snacks and water on behalf of Canopy Hilton … I found this level of service not good. Set backs: Diamond member - remember a serious amount of money spent at Hilton brand hotels and extreme loyalty to the Hilton brand - No upgrade offered, but suites still Showing on Hilton app for entire stay and on booking.com Canopy Hilton might have shown the same commitment back to top tier members loyalty and in-fact a poor attitude and extremely lacking in customer service on front desk I would say 8/10 times during stay. No milk for L’OR coffee machine only creamer!! No milk for tea in room Poor bathroom amenities no shower cap, no toothbrushes, no razors etc had to ask not great! Housekeeping said they had none … asked at front desk and the Hilton colleague opened a draw full of amenities!!! Making guests go down to reception to beg instead of just providing in room!!! Demonstrates Poor customer service. Then to be told we may not have orange socks or shower caps we may have run out … surely at a top rated brand hotel there is stock take and orders are placed in a timely fashion! Not impressive from Canopy Hilton at all. No orange socks in room, but left bathrobes again poor customer service. No welcome to Canopy Hilton thank you for being a diamond member …. Again poor customer service not recognizing loyalty. No executive lounge - no drinks vouchers given to diamond members as in other Hiltons - seems mean and lacking in customer service. All in all as a diamond member felt a little let down after really looking forward to my trip especially at this brand of Hilton in a great location. Feels run by people who either haven’t been trained adequately, they have no commitment to the Hilton brand or simply just have no idea about hospitality.

The staff, accommodations, and location at the Reykjavik Residence Hotel were exceptional! We traveled with 3 families from the USA to Iceland with our elderly parents as part of our dad's 80th birthday bucket list. We corresponded with the hotel staff via email before our trip and they were very prompt and helpful in answering questions. You never know when you're emailing a hotel operation if you'll even get a reply. Imagine our delight when they replied quickly and were extremely helpful, even with offering restaurant suggestions or to call taxis for us. We organized the airport pickup car service which made our arrival very easy. With 6 people and lots of luggage, the car size was adequate and driver very professional. The driver took us to the hotel reception desk. We'd taken a red-eye flight and the hotel staff greeted us with a very warm welcome. They offered us coffee, a place to sit, and use of bathrooms. The reception area was comfortable and the bathroom even had a full-size luxurious tiled shower if needed (definitely not a truck stop shower here!). Our rooms weren't ready so they stored our luggage at no charge and were very accommodating when we needed to retrieve items. Upon check-in, they called a taxi to transport us and our luggage and to the building. It was only a few minutes walk, but this was very thoughtful considering it was a cold and windy winter day. Our building was newly renovated and was very clean and fresh. We had rooms on the basement level, the main level, and the top floor. Each room was spacious, had a large kitchen, and clean and comfortable bathrooms. The basement room had a full-size sliding door that walked outside. The top room had a mini balcony that overlooked the harbor. We'd read some reviews about a sulphur smell in the bathrooms or the water supply. We didn't experience this at all. In fact, we routinely filled our water bottles with the tap water in the rooms and it was perfect to drink. They performed daily housekeeping service automatically and we left laundry one day which was returned within 24 hours with no problems. Definitely take the breakfast option. The bread is baked fresh, filled with air pockets and crusty outside. Hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt (skyr), meats, and cheese. This was a great way to start the day. Coffee was included in the room and the kitchens also had mini-fridges which included a supply of milk and apple juice. The beds were very comfortable and rooms were well-heated. Wi-fi was fast and included. We spent one week at the hotel and highly recommend staying here. It was the size and layout of an apartment, with the amenities and service of a 5-star hotel. Things to watch out for: If you're traveling with others, try to arrange to be in the same building. The buildings are definitely spread out and are a far distance from the reception area. If we'd been in separate buildings, it would have been much more difficult t

Most probably the best hotel in Reykjavik, modern, new, everything in great condition and with a great location. That being said it is a very expensive hotel even for Icelandic standards. So let me start with the highlights of this hotel: - Very comfortable and great materials condition. - AC with individual room adjustable temperature is a great plus for Iceland. - I got the basic room and it felt big enough, modern and super clean. The bathroom was also big but there was no bathtub unfortunately. Great comfortable bed and sheets. - Le Labo bath products are truly amazing. One of the best I ever tried! I also appreciated that for ecologic reasons they weren't in non reusable small plastic bottles. - The rooms are silent and relaxing. I would change the black TV furniture as black always highlight the dust on it.. even when the room is nicely cleaned. - The breakfast is big and overall with good quality. But daily variation should be bigger. - The location is perfect to stroll along the shops and walking distance to the most important city spots. - The spa is beautiful and very interesting. Probably the most well designed small spa in a city hotel I have ever seen. Complimentary use of the spa is a very nice touch indeed. Although it was a really good expericence in no way this was a perfect stay specially when the price tag is considered: - The hall and corridors cleaning left too much to be desirable. At least at 3rd floor corridor there was dust, earth and stains that remained for the whole 3 night stay. It is strange as the rooms are really well cleaned (maybe it's a different team? maybe someone forgot that the corridors are also to be cleaned?). - The reception. It is always busy and sometimes feels chaotic at the proper hotel entrance. I also felt that some guest were treated differently and with more care. I got no welcome drink or even the suggestion to leave the bags. That's ok for me but then I realized the guest next to me was immediately offered all of this. I mean.. consistency is important at this level. - Hidden fees. Ok maybe it was a misunderstanding but when we arrived we were told that the hotel had valet parking only. But nobody told us the extortion each night of it. At the chekout there it was though. Also in the breakfast there was no specific tag with the champagne price but after I filled a glass with it a waiter quickly send me the bill to sign. I mean it is very bad to mix not included stuff in the buffet. Also every egg besides the scramble had a price tag. I mean for almost 700 euros a night is it reasonable to charge for a egg toast?. - The room curtains. Beautifull but totally off for iceland summer status (2-3hours of darkness). Light comes in in every curtain fold so it is impossible to cover it. Every night I woke up several times due to too much outdoor light in the rooms. This should be quickly addressed. It honestly really bothered me. - The spa only opens at 12h00 meaning you cannot use it

The Alda Hotel had great online reviews which was why we picked it. It lived up to every one of them. Before leaving home, we had cancelled a 10-hour South Shore Small Group Tour due to a horrible weather forecast. We inquired at Alda's front desk about another tour to replace it. Not only did Olga research for us, she found an 8-hour Golden Circle Small Group Tour, booked it for us and also was able to change the day of our pre-booked Covid-19 antigen test. The hotel loaned us a converter when I found ours could not fit into the room’s recessed outlets. Finally, when I needed glue for my hiking boot, Olga found a nearby store that carried it. The breakfast buffets featured all the regular fare plus a few specialties like juice made with apple, beetroot, ginger and lemon (tart and yummy). The entire hotel staff bent over backwards to be friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. The room, though simple, was spacious and comfy. We could not have asked for a nicer, better place for a 3-nite stay.

My wife and I recently spent a very pleasant 5 nights at this hotel. It is nicely situated in the marina area slightly away from the city centre, but still with many local restaurants. Our room (on the top floor as specifically requested) was small but perfectly formed with an excellent view over the Marina. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was powerful and the the wi-fi was excellent. The room had all we needed, really, apart from, perhaps, some drawers for clothing. There was space on some open shelves but we prefer to have our clothes 'put away' and not on show. We had no problem with noise entering our room either from the outside or from neighbouring rooms. We took breakfast on a couple of occasions and it was a decent buffet affair, albeit pricey. The hotel staff were friendly, welcoming, polite and very helpful in arranging excursions and advising on things to do in Iceland. We didn't take dinner in the hotel, but we did find an excellent gastropub literally over the road from the hotel.

Just stayed one night in this beautiful hotel. Wish it was longer. As a Diamond member, we were upgraded to a junior suite, got a free afternoon drink in the hotel bar and had free breakfast. The hotel is very classy and the lobby is full of interesting art. Our room was also beautiful and very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. The breakfast buffet is very good. We also had dinner in the hotel restaurant which was also delicious and no more expensive than other Reykjavík restaurants where we ate. The staff was also very attentive, and the hotel is very centrally located. The hotel does not offer parking so anyone with a rental car will need to find parking elsewhere. I hope to go back soon!

Great hotel. Excellent service, really nice room. Good breakfast and very pleasant bar/lounge. The only issue is that the heat can be a bit much, so you may want to turn it off. The Konsulat has a great location in the heart of Reykjavik. An easy walk to lots of top restaurants, the waterfront, and the Harpa. We definitely will stay at the Konsulat again on our next trip to Reykjavik.

GGuest UserThe location was perfect in that in was in the heart of Reykjavik - shops, restaurants, and a block away from a main bus pick up stop (#6) for tours. Bad thing was it was close to everything including bars and on Saturday night, it was pretty loud till about 2/3 am. Weeknights were fine for us, probably more noise from fighting seagulls than rowdy people. The apartment itself was difficult to find since it was behind the main building, through a short alley be tween the Vietnamese restaurant and gift shop. We asked a local at the gift shop to locate it. And despite there being graffiti on the walls, we never felt unsafe and have returned past midnight before. We stayed in #301, third floor apartment that was basically a studio with 2 twin beds, a sofa bed, small round table with a few chairs, microwave, dishwasher, clothes washer/dryer combo, all utensils/settings. There’s also a small balcony shared with the apartment next to us. The exterior and apartment doors were accessible via codes. Great because no keys are needed, but could be tricky to unlock. An alarm will sound after a few incorrect attempts. The apartment looked great. Simple, neutral colors. We couldn’t figure out whether the place was cleaned though since one twin bed sheet had a little stain and one of the pillowcase had a little something stuck to it. And it didn’t smelled fresh, though could be it hasn’t been booked in a while? We only slept there and didn’t use any of the appliances, including the coffee maker, so don’t know if they worked or if they supplied detergents. We did notice that there’s a note you had to empty trash under the sink. The spots on our sheet and the one pillowcase were not confirmed or enough to be a big concern for us. Overall, we liked the place mostly for convenience. But if you’re a light sleeper, this might not be a good choice. Also want to note they were very responsive via email. And lastly, on street parking which you’ll need to download app to pay between 9 am and 6 pm.

What a pleasant stay. Our flat had it all what was needed, space in spades, a nice kitchen (with a small terrace), great living room, a big bathroom, a room with a comfy bed. Everything was comfortable, and the location is great, better than we thought it would be. Close to the heart of touristic Reykjavik, with a supermarket just some meters away… Only drawbacks was that parking is quite small, just good for four cars -there’s a public parking quite close-, and that it’s got no elevator. We were on the fourth and last floor -third in reality, as ground floor is already named 1-, but that turned out to have a magical effect: on our first night, thanks to not having any more storeys above us, we unadvertily spotted big and wonderful northern lights in the night sky, something we wouldn’t have noticed if we didn’t have that terrace in the kitchen with nothing above us. So, magical stay here.

CCarrieIt's a very satisfactory hotel. The only bad thing is that the receptionist is a bit racist. It is said that we arrived at the hotel at 12 noon, and then we asked the front desk if we could enter the room early? She said we have to wait until 3 o'clock, and there is no room for us now. We accepted what she heard, and went out to have lunch. When we came back from lunch, we asked her again. It was already 2 o'clock, and she still said there was no room for us, so we would sit down. While waiting on the sofa there, there was a foreign couple who also came to stay, and she immediately gave them a room. My companion was very angry when she saw us. When she saw us, she was embarrassed and asked us to take the key and enter the room. I think this kind of service attitude really brings down the price of such a good hotel.
GGuest UserWe stayed here a couple of nights in early September for a pre-cruise stay. Clean, comfortable (we opted for the slightly larger room) and a great location near the waterfront area and walking distance to the old town part of Reykjavit. They accommodated an early arrival due to our flight schedule, which was appreciated. There is a connected cafe and coffee bar which was very convenient. There are some off-site parking garages (rented a car) which are OK, but a little expensive and if it is raining, not real convenient. They said they had storage lockers, but because they provided an early check-in, we did not need them, so I am not sure if they are on-site or not - if they are the ones in the parking structure, they are definitely not sufficient. Although we do not see us returning soon, if we did, we would definitely stay here again.

GGuest UserIt is close to tourist attractions in Reykjavik. Reykjavík's iconic churches, town hall and lakeside are within walking distance. The tour stop is Bus-stop 6, so that's also convenient. You can see several nearby buildings and ports, and there are various souvenir shops, convenience stores, and marts nearby, so it's useful to spend time shopping. Various restaurants are also within walking distance.
Facilities and cleanliness are not bad. I think it is a characteristic of Iceland that sulfur is added to the water. The room we used was very spacious for 3 people, and the sofa was also convenient. There are various utensils for cooking, as well as a microwave and refrigerator. The downside is that the water control is sometimes not done, so I have trouble with hot water when showering or washing dishes.
Due to the clubs and bars nearby, you may hear the sound of young friends on holidays. Overall, it is a satisfactory hotel for the price.

Great location, friendly staff and the room had everything we needed.
The free coffee & tea in the lobby was a very nice touch too, especially in a city as expensive as Reykjavik!
I also appreciated that guests are giving the opportunity to opt out of room cleaning and are given a drink voucher for the hotel bar in return.

GGuest UserWe stayed for 3 nights b&b in April. We arrived early and our allocated rooms weren't all ready but the reception staff amended our room so that we could check in. We also received a room upgrade to a balcony room on the top floor. The room was spacious, good size bathroom and comfortable bed. There was plenty of wardrobe space but no drawers to store smaller items. There was just one issue with the rooms on the top floor, which was they were very hot. Even with the radiators turned off, the staff advised that the heat from the lower rooms rise and can make them warm. There are just 2 small top windows so didn't allow much cooler air to circulate. There was a good selection at breakfast with English and continental breakfast options, tea, coffee, water and fresh fruit juices. The restaurant food was also good and comparable prices to in Reykjavik centre. Good service from the breakfast and restaurant/ bar staff. We used the spa on one of the days and enjoyed this. There are seperate saunas in the male and female changing rooms, with joint hot tub (not jacuzzi), warm small pool and small cold plunge pool. There are seating areas in the pool area with drink service. Towels and robes are provided. The hotel is located outside of Reykjavik centre and about 30 mins walk into the centre. There are a few supermarkets locally, we didn't find any within a short walking distance but there might be some around. The hotel benefits from free parking right outside and we didn't have an issue with the space being full. This was a good location for us as a base to explore the island. The hotel was clean and well equipped to meet our needs. The only issue was the heat in the bedrooms, but apart from that we had an enjoyable stay.
JJingxuanziThe location of the hotel is very good. First of all, across the road from the hotel is the main street of Iceland. All the shops are concentrated in this area. The urban attractions, such as the cathedral, the presidential palace, and the concert hall, can all be reached on foot. There is a 24-hour convenience store next to the hotel, where you can buy food and drink 24 hours a day. The hotel is clean and quiet. Don't worry about not having enough bathrooms. There are three bathrooms on the first floor, which are completely sufficient. There is no one at the front desk. You need to press the door horn and he will open the door for you and tell you which room you are in. Just go into the room directly. The room key is on the table.
GGuest UserThe experience is very good and very clean. There is a small kitchen with full kitchen utensils and even kitchen paper. There is no breakfast. Although the front desk is off work early, you can self-service key collection. The location is not easy to find. But there is a parking lot in the city center, but only a row at the door many
刘刘The hotel is very good, cost-effective, the location is superb, near bus stop 10, the airport shuttle bus and the tourist attractions shuttle bus are at bus stop 10, crossing the road is convenient, there are supermarkets, various restaurants, snack stalls, and there is a net red milk tea shop downstairs. The hygiene is very good, the room is very warm, in a place like Iceland where the price is high, this hotel is simply great value, the boss is Chinese, the people are very good, patiently answering various questions, gave us a lot of good suggestions, conscience recommendation, will set this hotel next time I go to Iceland.
