"Lovely hotel and location. We had a basement room, not sure I would recommend this for future stays. The room was a bit dark, but we had everything we needed. And it was clean! We were a couple of blocks from the magnificent church."

"Location was right in the centre of town, in front of a popular taxi stand where many party-goers gather before heading home, so it gets REALLY noisy on friday/saturday nights. I usually fall asleep easily but the noise was keeping me up. Bring earplugs if you intend to stay here. Otherwise the location was really accessible, walking distance to bus stop 1 where the flybus from the airport would drop off, and many tours pick you up from there as well. Sunday night was actually pretty peaceful so maybe just stay there on sundays-thursdays. Room was also decent and clean. A bit small for longer stays but good for a couple of nights."

"I traveled to Iceland and chose this hotel for a total of three nights. This is the first night（8.6）,Everything else in the hotel is very good. The only terrible thing is that for the room on my left, I can clearly hear their phone calls. For the room on my right, I can clearly hear them coughing and talking, which is very clear in the middle of the night. I doubt whether every room can hear the sound like this, so I will consider whether it is useful to propose to change the room."

"Advantages: The hotel is located on a street surrounded by shops and restaurants, making it very convenient for transportation and daily needs. It is also quite close to attractions such as Rainbow Street and the Hallgrímskirkja. The room is spacious and can easily accommodate three large suitcases. Disadvantages: The room lighting is relatively dim, and the soundproofing is poor. We were assigned a room on the 3rd floor. Since there was no air conditioning, we had to open the windows for ventilation. However, due to the poor soundproofing, conversations from people on the street could be clearly heard. Additionally, when someone in nearby rooms opened and closed their doors while going out or returning to their rooms, the walls would vibrate noticeably."

Location: Hotel has several blocks of apartment, we were allocated to the one 4 mins walk from the reception, quite central in the downtown, 4 mins walk to Bonus supermarket, and about 10mins walk to the big church and harbourfront 2. Amenities: Room cozy and spacious enough with pantry and all necessary kitchen wares, so we can do our own cooking here, also have washing machine and dryer at basement for share use 3. Service: Staff are nice and helpful 4. Breakfast: Inculded, a basket will be put inside the refrigerator around 4pm everyday and freshly baked bread is provided in the morning at 8am, more than enough quantity and they are delicious"

AAlec Lyubomirsky (alyubomi)We started our travel to Iceland by driving around Iceland in a campervan, so we were hoping for a relaxing hotel stay in Reykjavik at the end of the trip when we pre-booked. We were not disappointed by the Eyja Guldsmeden. The location was only a few blocks away from downtown where there were tons of shopping and dining options, and the hotel itself was beautiful. In the lobby, we grabbed (included) coffee in the mornings and a reasonably-priced drink for happy hour. The service at the front desk was friendly and cordial. The room itself had a nice view of the mountains and was warm and cozy. It was a great stay and we would definitely go back to this hotel again if we are ever back in Iceland! Our only difficulty, understanding this is mostly outside of the hotel's control, is that some of the sidewalks on the walk to downtown were extremely icy and slippery after a day or so of wintry mix that froze over. We had to be extremely careful making our way down to Laugavegur, which had much safer sidewalks. WWyw112The bus hostel is really near the airport and quite walkable to major sightseeing like 20-30 minutes. Yet the Windows curtain could not even cover it well so if you sleep near a Windows in summer (as the night will be very bright) You will affect by the light. There was men snoring really hard so it affect as well (though this is not about the hotel) I got nose allergy and the entire time I stay in the hotel and it makes me feel very sick. The self check in system is quite good, yet the reception will be locked after 9pm(?) I was coming back at 10pm and there was no staff help unlocking the main entrance which the password is different. They provide no information about this. A few of us (new guests or those coming back) are locked outside until a guest know the password show up. This certainly not a good service at all. The toilet has automatic light which is Environmental friendly I like it, but it went off when I only have a short time in the toilet, this really not quite good. But the location is good and there is bus travel tour pick up from here.

I was allocated the room just above the main entrance as such, it can be quite noisy whenever people get in or out of the hostel with the door slamming and some vibration felt! The bathroom and wc are fairly clean and tidy. Very cosy common area to mingle and make new friends. Kitchen has all the basic necessity. I especially like the small area right outside my room where i can have a light meal and nice view of the surroundings. Bought the unlimited bus rides ticket via the Klappid app for travel within the Reykjavik capital city and bus svc 12 is just few steps away. If time permits, you can even walk to the coastal area for sight-seeing. Overall, i am very satisfied with my 8 nights stay at Laekur hostel!

However, when i called the staff, he answered that even our arrival time is out of customer service, he could leave the key and PIN code for us to self-checkin, he also went beyond to ensure a smooth check-in process. The guesthouse itself boasted a quaint and cozy atmosphere, with communal areas that were well-kept and adorned with tasteful decorations, offering a homely comfort that was immediately noticeable. The included breakfast was a highlight of the stay, featuring a generous spread of both local and continental options, freshly prepared and sure to satisfy a variety of tastes. TTeacher HarryClose to the bus lines. The breakfast is amazing! It’s lot's of good stuff, but it gets changed from day to day. These people prepare on the same day, and not the night before. It makes a huge difference in the quality. The rooms are modern, well designed, and well lit. The plumbing is excellent as well. Some other hotels have sulfurous water because Iceland is on a volcano. These guys have it managed. Would definitely recommend and return.

The hotel is amongst loads of great bars and restaurants - so our room was a little noisy being on the street side but we slept through it :) If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. Room was small but fine for the 3 nights we stayed. Hotel staff are really friendly. Breakfast, which is included in your room rate, is fantastic. Breakfast room is also available to lounge in all day until 8pm so it's a nice place to drink a bottle of wine 😁🍷 Please note my photos of room were taken when we were leaving which is why it looks messy. The room was perfectly clean and tidy when we arrived 🙂

I took a photo of the colorful northern lights in the sky of the Sun Voyager on the night of check-in, thank you! Disadvantages: It is recommended to replace the curtains in the shower room. The cloth looks very unclean, which wastes such a good shower experience, because the water is geothermal Liuhuang hot spring water (the rotten egg smell is authentic Liuhuang water, very slippery after showering), it is a good suggestion to simply decorate the shower room!
