Hotels near Tatos Palm Beach, Punta Cana

The hotel does not look like the pictures. When I got yo my room, on the first night my room smelled of urine, as if person who was belied me peed and the hotel doesn’t clean it. It was unbearable, I had to ask reception to come and sort it out because I wasnt going to be able to sleep with that smell. The housekeeper came and she swiped the floor and it was much better. The toilet handle was broken despite the water flushing. The room smelled out humidity. Not very sure of they changed the sheets needles I got there or even after. The food was all artificial food, nothing organic. All drinks were from those sachets. Even the sprite tasted different :/ On NYE the food was much better, there were good choices, but still artificial. Overall, it wasn’t that bad, a lot of people seemed to be okay with it. I am very picky so I notice everything.

Let me start off saying, I stayed at a RIU resort in Jamaica and my experience was totally different from the location in the DR. My friend and I are currently here and have been disappointed the entire trip. Our room has not had A/C the entire time we’ve been here. I’ve submitted 10 request over the past three days and the staff is just closing out the ticket without fixing the problem. We even went to the front desk and asked to be moved to another room and still wasn’t moved. We are literally waking up and going to sleep hot and sweating. The room also has ants(in picture) so I spent the first night being bit. The plates at the restaurants aren’t clean and some of the staff are using their bare hands to prepare the food on the buffet line. Something was floating in the drinking water(pictured) also it smells like sewer on different parts of the resort. No face towels No straws(have to put your mouth on the cups) Dingy towels Dirty pool I will NOT stay at another RIU Resort after this experience. This resort should not have a 5 or a 4 star review.

The hotel was fabulous in that it was clean, spacious, modern, and had a calm business vibe. It is set outside of the main Madrid attractions, which is nice for business travelers. If you are traveling to see the sites, you will need to take an Uber/ taxi, which is about 15-20 minutes per traffic and time of day. It's not bad, but not ideal if you want to walk out from your hotel and be in the action. Apart from location, the front desk staff are super friendly and helpful, the hotel has a modern vibe, and has some cool restaurants located around its vicinity. Im a huge fan of AC hotels now because of this beauty we stayed at in Madrid! Although its kinda far from the attractions, I'd still return and stay at this location again and refer it to future travelers!

If I could give this 0 Stars I would, Take this review very serious I have stayed in over 4000 Hotels in my life. First and foremost just DO NOT STAY HERE even if it is $50 A WEEK! I promise you anywhere is better than here. If you want to take some roaches home and start a path down the road where it will cost you or your apartment complex and neighbors hundreds of thousands to get rid of these pests, or if you already have them and you are bringing them with you than so be it, but if you are a person who cares about your hygiene, keeps a clean house and does not like bugs this is NOT the place for you. IF you want to have a nice evening inside and watch some TV after cooking a nice meal and be in a cool environment DO NOT BOOK HERE! There is no Air conditioning in the living room and the TV is like a small monitor attached to the wall that can not be moved. IF you want to have a comfortable pillow, DO NOT BOOK HERE! The pillows are the thinnest I have ever seen. If you want a clean comfortable bed, DO NOT BOOK HERE! The bed had stains of all sorts and lots of questionable black specks including baby roaches, these were dead I think, I didn't stick around to see. IF you want to have a closet to hang your cloths and a mirror to check your self out in, you guessed it, DO NOT STAY HERE!! My closet had a broken mirror that was duct taped back together and the closet door wouldn't even open. Finally if you want a reception with real security that will be available if you need anything or have a problem, DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Not 1, 2, or 3 times did I and or *********** try to contact this property to request my refund with no response but 4 times and still no reply. Also when I arrived the reception was not there and I used google translate to communicate with this guy who had no name tag or anything indicating that he worked there indicating he was security. He told me he needed payment and would need to keep my passport until payment was made but the booking was supposed to be prepaid. This was a complete crap show. They took payment is Euros for whatever reason. If you want to stay at somewhere modern, clean and comfortable, DO NOT STAY HERE!! Even if it free!!! Unless your homeless then at least it's a home. I have stayed in over 4000 hotels over the course of my life and this would rank top 10 worst if that gives you any idea. This was our first time in Dominicana and we chose this hotel because our tour operator said it was new and we actually liked the pics (they are real by the way, not like in the majority of the hotels where they post only the best to attract guests). First thing that impressed us was that all staff was wearing masks at all times everywhere: inside and outside! No matter if they were showing sport exercises, cleaning or dancing in the lobby in the evening, they were always in masks! Then sanitizers everywhere . Temperature control at the entrance to the hotel and to all restaurants. The staff also makes sure you are wearing a mask and gloves when picking food. Everyone was polite helping and smiling all the time. I will name only some people here just because I didn't take photos of all names, so sorry if I didn't name you. All receptionists were ready to help and solve any problem you have. Bieavenido (thanks for late night talk, now I know when is the Independence day in Dominicana!😊). All our requests were satisfied within 5-15minutes (not Dominican minutes👆🤣). Guys at the restaurant all who were welcoming, thank you for giving us masks and gloves when we were too overwhelmed with holiday activities and forgot to get them🙈. Thank you for always wishing us good morning, nice day and smiling! Guys who take orders inside the restaurants and my Spanish teachers😅 Ramon, Antonio, Wilsoooooon Rincon, muchos gracias! They always ask you how you are, remember your orders and bring them before you think about it. Mariia Soriano and Andy from lobby bar- the smiliest girl and boy ever! Thank you for your Russian and Ukrainian, keep learning, next time I come I will check up on your progress! 🤣 Animation team- you are beyond human abilities!!! Fly yoga, yoga on surf boards, volleyball, water polo(I think it was water polo😅), water bikes in the swimming pool, sexy dancing, jumping on little trampolines..Ruben & Jason, my sister Debora(best breeds from you!❤)and my evening salsa teacher Coca -Cola(don't lose uno in bachata anymore😉). Love you guys! 🥰 I will always remember all of you, how you invited to take part in the activities, how you were showing everything step by step, your patience, your unique personalities. The best chef on this planet Wander Montilla with amazingly beautifully looking and heavenly tasting dishes. 😋 Thank you for your unforgettable dinner at the stake house restaurant! Also, the cooking show in Asian restaurant is worth seeing! The food is amazing and the products are high quality. We are more than happy with our rest!

My husband and I arrived at the resort on 9/28/24 even though we checked in, in advance online, we still had to check in at the main lobby and the check-in process was slow we waited about 30 minutes and there weren't many people there. Upon completion of check-in we were transported to our room 2105 in a golf cart. Upon arrival the room was very dated, looked nothing like the pictures online, the ceiling of the shower had an opening and there was a dirty shower curtain, the bathroom disgusting and there was a large gap under the door so bugs could easily make there way into your room. I decided not to stay in that room so we went to the front desk to complain. Once at the front desk we were told to get an upgraded room we had to purchase the privileged room which was $70 more per night. Not happy about that but we upgraded. The room was better but smelled of cigarettes and the bathroom smelled of sewage. The bathroom only had one washcloth and two towels, and as privileged guest we were suppose to be given beach towels as a ”perk” of the privileged. On Sunday morning around 8am, I called the front desk asking for more bath towels, beach towels and washcloths. We headed out and came back around 6pm, our room was cleaned and provided no towels at all. So, I had to call again and request towels and washcloths. After waiting about an hour we got our towels and still no washcloths, also the room was missing a hair dryer room 816. Then the power went out around 7pm, seemed like our unit which was on the 3rd floor was affected as other guest were experiencing the same issue of no power on the 3rd floor. We went to the front desk to complain about the no power as the room was getting hot quickly as it was over 90 degrees each day we were there. The front desk stated they were aware and working on the issue. We decided to go eat and see the Michael Jackson show while we waited for the power to be restored. The Michael Jackson show was good, the person playing Michael Jackson is actually a very good entertainer he has all of MJ's moves down packed to coordinate with every music video. We got back to our room around 10pm and still no power, I was so upset so we called the front desk and after speaking with them they changed our room, so at 10:00pm instead of relaxing and going to bed we had to pack up and move out of the room. Then we were sent to room 802 which was clean but still no washcloths. Monday morning we saw the housekeeping and my husband asked for a washcloth and she was the only person to actually finally bring us washcloths she got a nice tip for that. **Food** Food is trash, thank goodness my husband and I rented a car the only good meals we had were from the restaurants we went to in Punta Cana. The breakfast not good, not a good selection of foods and the dinner the same. No salad dressings at all, bacon under cooked, grilled chicken no seasoning and the desserts not good at all. The only thing I did like was the banana bread and

Avoid at all cost!!! Please do not risk staying at the resort because the price appears affordable. Most of the staff are friendly and professional, but this is where the positive review ends. The A/C consistently doesn’t work and most mini fridges do not work as well. There is a lingering smell of sewage on the property. Building 10 is where my family stayed. This was the source of the smell. The food is tolerable, but booking reservations for the upscale restaurant is intentionally difficult. Don’t waste your money on upgrading to privilege because there’s no real benefit. Just pay extra and book somewhere else.

This trip was amazing. The resort was beautiful and easy to navigate. The rooms are quite large and the location is isolated and quiet. The beach is beautiful, the food was delicious, the drinks were wonderful. The staff were all really friendly and the service was generally great. There are a lot of vegan and vegetarian options which was great! All the events were really enjoyable and overall it was a really relaxing and memorable vacation! Shout out to the activities director Miki for making our stay extra special!

This was an excellent stay. It’s not near the downtown area nor walkable outside resort. You’ll need transportation to leave the resort. We were a couple and it was very nice even though it wasn’t adults only. There was alot of live entertainment at night to keep you busy. We didn’t need to leave the resort and was just fine walking to the beach and going to the pool area. The food was just great. I ate a lot but it seemed more healthy than food in US. I loved the assor**ent of fruits and vegetables. We did a spa trea**ent as well. The entertainment was well planned and set up so that there is something different every night. I have no complaints. Next time we come we’ll try an adults only resort.
