An excellent hotel to book whilst visiting Pompeii. We booked here for 1 night while visiting Mt V and Pompeii. Room was clean and self check in was very easy. Excellent location and excellent customer service. They allowed us to leave our bags in the hotel prior to check in and after check out (while they have no proper “luggage storage” we felt they were safe in the lobby and there!) Great hotel, would recommend!

The reseption gave us good information about the best restaurant, things to do and where to go! It was a nice place!! We had nice view over historic ruins, and we where able to sit outside in the sun! It’s always sunshine at il vecchio fauno!!😍😍

This family run business is now run by Daniele and Chiara Nasrto. It was founded in 1957 by their grandparents, Gaetano Iovene & Maria Somma. Now, updated and modern, you can see the love, devotion & attention to detail they put into the hotel. The hotel looks just like their pictures too. The cleanliness is outstanding and nothing seems too much. We stayed in room 104, the king balcony and it really was a little slice of heaven. Air-conditioning, clean white sheets &towels, what more could you ask for? Sitting on the balcony listening to the world go by with the breath taking Mount Vesuvius as our background and Pompei archiological park right in front of us. Added bonus Pompei entrance is just 2 minutes walk and as the hotel offer secure parking, no parking fees. Plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops on your door step. Thank you Daniele & Chiara for making us welcome & Chiara for sharing you art with us. And to you both & and of course your fur babies for making our honeymoon. We will be back!

We reserved a room without the breakfast option. We had a room with a balcony that overlooked the rear area of the inn. The Il Vecchio Fauno is filled with paintings by the sister of the owner. They are large and colorful. We actually used the balcony and it visually expands the room. The room was spotless and a good size. Danielle the owner always was available to help if needed. The bathroom was good sized and clean. The air conditioning worked efficiently when we needed it. An excellent restaurant opened next door 2 months ago Cenere bistrot and museum. Il Vecchio is close to a lot of good places to eat. It just a block or so from the entrance to the park. We went one day with a guide arranged by Dannielle and returned next day on our own. I would stay at Il Vecchio Fauno again.

The property is truly delightful, super clean rooms, homemade desserts and the location is optimal... THE MOST SURPRISING THING IS THE KINDNESS OF THE STAFF... They make you feel at home, super thoughtful! The parking 🅿️ available is really helpful. Entrance to the excavations in front and the sanctuary is a 5 minute walk away. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I stayed with some friends of mine for 4 days in September, the location is modern and well looked after, with very original paintings. The spacious room, equipped with everything. Good breakfast. Parking is a great plus. Highly recommended if you want to feel good in Pompeii.

The old Faun is run by very kind and helpful people. The location is exceptional: you are close to the stations, in front of the entrance to Piazza Anfiteatro for the Pompeii excavations. The street in which it is located is quiet and full of places for all tastes. The rooms are basic and spotless: there are extra blankets and pillows; heating is guaranteed by a wall split which, with a little patience, does its job well. There is private internal parking that the hotel also makes available after hours. The beautiful orange and lemon trees with chairs and tables where you can rest. The breakfast is genuine and plentiful. Very happy with the hospitality received!

Very colorful location, equipped with various paintings, reminiscent of an art gallery; very original indeed. It is perfect for short and long stays, a few steps from the sanctuary of the Madonna of Pompeii and in front of the excavations; some rooms overlook them. Room equipped with all comforts, including an air conditioner and a stove in the bathroom. Friendly and helpful owners, good breakfast and parking in a private courtyard. I highly recommend and will return without a shadow of a doubt.

We decided to stay in this hotel because we were passing through Pompeii. Let me start by saying that we usually stay overnight in these parts but we have never come across a hotel where the reviews were not true. Before calling we check the prices on their online site and rely on the reviews of Google and this app and decide to call the facility directly to book bed and breakfast. Arriving at the hotel we found several surprises that were not true: the parking was paid but it was not specified anywhere, the price was different from the one online and when we pointed this out to the owner we were told that we had made a mistake with the rate without breakfast, which is not true because we travel around different hotels and know how it works. The icing on the cake: breakfast! It is presented as a rich sweet and savory breakfast with fresh fruit and homemade cakes: practically none of this! They were biscuits or packaged snacks accompanied by croissants that had nothing to do with the description of breakfast. The only positive thing was the cleanliness of the room: it was impeccable! I could have given three stars and not one but it's not nice to be made fun of just because we were passing through and needed accommodation for one night!

I stayed in this hotel from July 31st to August 5th in a quadruple room (room 103). It's always difficult for me to write negative reviews and I admit that I often prefer not to write. This time, however, I feel I have to do it, even if reluctantly, because due to certain behaviors "commonplaces" are created which then discredit an entire people, that of Campania in this case, the region in which I was born and grew up until the age. The main reason that pushed me to make this review, for which I also toy with the idea of ​​notifying the hygiene office of the municipality of Pompeii because I believe that the usability of the hotel is in question, is the "STINK OF SEWER" which came out of the sanitary sewers. The problem emerged starting from the second day, perhaps in the first hours I was too tired from the journey to pay attention to it, and it increased more and more day by day. I reported the problem to a manager and she replied that the problem was only in our room, that I was right and that they would try to resolve it, but no alternative proposal was made to me. An answer, and above all the way in which it was given, which highlighted that the hotel owners were aware and rented the room anyway. The fact is that the smell became unbearable at a certain point, so much so that it could be smelled in the room when the bathroom door was opened. Terrible breakfast. dirty cutlery and glasses: from the third day I think they washed by hand, perhaps due to a malfunction of the dishwasher? However, this does not justify finding stained forks and spoons and even a glass with chocolate stains left by someone who had previously drunk from it. A real disgust that forced us on the last day to have breakfast in a nearby bar.

Booked with smartbox. Excellent location, you can reach the excavations on foot. Private parking inside, convenient for travelers because there is no outside parking in the area. The room is clean, the owner available for special needs. I have celiac disease, and for breakfast in the room he brought something for me too. We will definitely be back
