CClaire MPapali was on the first floor of a very old building, so expect to walk up a few steps with your luggage, because there's no elevator ... But, the Signore who welcomed us was very friendly and even went downstairs - while I already could go into our room - to help my husband find a parking spot on the street nearby.
We had a very good night in a simple, but super clean and quite big room, comfy bed as well ... Bathroom was nice and clean with plenty of towels ...
The first picture I took in the morning after our night at Papali out from the balcony, the second was taken in the morning when we had our breakfast served kindly in the little dining area ...
Btw, Papali is located wonderfully - it's an easy walk to all the main sightseeing spots of Catania! I added some pictures of our evening walk ...
Summary: Papali is a great choice locationwise and if you do not want to spend too much, but still want to have a cozy night at a simple but friendly and nice place.

But I cannot understand why there’s never a plug beside the bed. People need to charge their phones.
The bathroom is ok but there is nothing to place the toiletries in the shower, so you’re forced to either bend over in a very small space either open the shower multiple times and make a mess.
The main issue is the breakfast. It’s the land of desolation and it’s really a pity.
The croissants and the brioches are good, but regardless of the time of your arrival it’s never refurnished.
No marmalades, 3 butters, 2 Nutellas, only one typeof cereal, no milk.
Everything is missing, it seems raided.
Why pay for an hotel breakfast if there’s less food that at home or any café?
It could happen once, not constantly.

CChimianbaodexionghaiThe hotel is clean, quiet and safe. It is only a 15-minute walk from the train station. Tickets for buses to Taormina and Mount Etna are purchased at the bus terminal next to the train station. Remember, there is only one bus to Mount Etna per day, which departs at 8:15. It is best to queue up to buy tickets at 6:45 in the morning, otherwise you will not be allowed to get on the bus even if you buy a ticket if you go too late. There are two supermarkets next to the hotel where you can buy daily necessities. It is a three-minute walk from the main road, Via Etna, and the airport bus stop is just a two-minute walk from the hotel. In short, everything is perfect.

NNevergiveupeatingDeparting from Catania Airport, this airport hotel is just a 4-minute drive away. The room was quite spacious, but the facilities were very outdated. Since we arrived on a late flight and were taking a bus from near the airport to Palermo the next day, it was the perfect choice. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the airport, and the shuttle bus clearly has the hotel's logo on it. (There was some miscommunication between the hotel and Trip.com regarding the late-night airport pickup, which led to ineffective communication. We eventually figured it out by using common sense and spotting the vehicle's logo at the airport drop-off point for departures, though it caused quite a delay before we successfully got on board.) On a positive note, the hotel also provides free luggage storage, which was a nice touch!

GGuest UserThe hotel is well located 20 mins walk from the old town square but next to everything.
It is in renovation partially so the gym wasn't open and the lobby is diminished.
The breakfast although rich and tasty was not replenished and advertised until 12h on sundays but half empty by 10h so it was such a bummer knowing that we paid extra for that.
So all in all feels like a 4 stars but still in progress and for the high price we paid we would have expected more.

GGuest UserThe hotel is very close to the train/bus station which allows you to easily travel to other destinations. That location makes the area not the best or very pleasant, it depends on the needs of the trip. All the staff were very attentive.
