Modala Beach Resort Reviews

We had a lovely stay at Modala Beach Resort. The staffs were very accommodating and helpful. The room and the pool was clean. The beach was great, it has fine white sand. I could say the resort is family-friendly. The only down side during our visit was that the beach had very low sea level, we were told that it would have better level during the months of April to June. The beach became a bit swimmable on the afternoon of our second day of stay, so we were able to enjoy the beach. Food served during breakfast was good. Overall, we had a wonderful vacation. Will definitely recommend Modala Beach Resort.

The room is so clean and comfortable, nice location with private beach, we played kayaking and horse riding here, that’s wonderful for the perfect holiday, also their food quality is great!

This hotel is away from the more touristy Alone beach and so it is perfect for those seeking idyllic place to do nothing and to enjoy moment of peace

It was a wonderful stay, staff was amazing, the breakfast buffet is great. The mall nearby has the Buzz (Bohol Bee Farm) great food and homemade ice cream

Loved every bit of time we spent at Modala. All the staff are super friendly and accommodating. The free photoshoot was also great, my parents loved it! The breakfast buffet was also great! So many food choices.

I loved it! Great massage Great pool overlooking the beach with swim up bar. I especially loved the hot chocolate at breakfast. Very nice little mall next door with souvenirs and restaurants.

The hotel staff are accommodating and clean hotel. The location is away from the busy city. Good breakfast with a view.

The hotel is new, facilities are awesome. There’s a beach in front of the hotel which you can swim in. And if you are boring, feel free to go for snorkeling, there’s a dive shop connected to the hotel. The hotel location is not too far from Alona beach and it’s accessible by tuktuk. Staffs are really friendly. Breakfast is good, they change the sausage flavour everyday to make it less boring. The hotel is connected to a mall with restaurants and money changer. Most importantly, there’s a 7-11 mini market just next door.

My stay at the hotel was great. The staff were so nice and friendly, and while there was only one restaurant on site, there was a strip mall next door with multiple dining options and several souvenir shops. There were some empty storefronts, but these appear to be the lingering effects of the long pandemic shutdown. The grounds and beachfront were pretty and well-maintained, and there is a looong beachfront to walk. The nearby town and Alona Beach were accessible, but aside from doing a city tour and a countryside tour, the latter of which included visiting the Chocolate Hills and the Tarsier Sanctuary, my friends and I felt no need to leave the resort for the rest of our stay. I know the rating should just be on our stay, but the reason I rated Modala less than excellent was because my pre-trip preparations were less than ideal. We needed information on airport transfers and tours in advance of our stay, and communications were an ordeal. So much follow-up was needed, with multiple communications repeating the same questions trying to get responses, and I used phone calls, e-mails, and texts. Phone calls were best, if only you could get someone to answer the phone, as e-mails and texts were mostly ignored. Responses tended to be incomplete, but at least on a phone call you can keep "clarifying" your question. In the end, some questions were left till we arrived at the resort, and could speak to them face to face.

Not so much Facilities for Families. No playground, small pool and low tide beach not good for swimming. Great delicious breakfast. Big rooms. Bad view. But very clean since its new. Service was excellent. Overall great resort but its small in size and not much to do around the area. Its quite far and secluded from other bohol resorts.

Checking in already have a bad experience while I was looking for to stay in a ‘5 star’ hotel. The lady named Rose just threw back our passports after checking. And there is charges for 1 child for 7 year old, which I am okay to pay. just for others to notice. The welcome drink is not welcomed because of of the drink, but the bar tender at the pool bar just not showing welcome to you to get the drinks and keep saying busy while we asked for a family photo. Checking out is terrible, need to wait for 5 mins to check the room however they were not asking for deposit for the room. When I told her I am in hurry to the airport, she just ignored me and showed annoyed. wow! first time in a ‘5 star’ hotel. The hotel is full of Korean. if you are Korean you would enjoy staying there maybe. For Others I would suggest staying any other hotels in Bohol and enjoy the beautiful beaches there without these annoying people and hotel.

The resort feels exclusive and quiet. This suits to travelers who want a peaceful stay and away from a crowded places. The resort staff were amazing and were always helpful.

Perfect five star hotel in Panglao. Room, breakfast, different options, complimentary photo session (only one picture free though), beach, location, swimming and snorkeling (even saw some turtles in the water) - all that was spectacular. Some hotels in Panglao have better rating than Modala, but I definitely do recommend this one to stay at least for one night! In particular I liked this one beach more than some on the south of Panglao.
