Roman Empire Panglao Boutique Resort Reviews

From the time we checked in and checked out the staff were helpful and attentive. The room which was on the 1st floor and overlooked the swimming pool was clean but had no TV. The bathroom was ok but no hot water. Swimming pool was nice and clean. The onsite free nail service was a nice touch. Breakfast was a la carte but satisfactory. No transport / transfer available to the port of Tagbilran so you need to book your own transport (taxi).

It was great! The comfort room was clean, and the room smells good. The pool was huge, it was great. We will come back soon.

It was a great experience. We were just unable to explore the hotel more as we are too tired so we just stayed there to sleep but it was perfect. The location is easy to access, the staff are friendly and the room is so clean.

Could have been better, there seems to be breakdown in communication in cleaning rooms where they missed twice. When they came to clean up, the guy commented with sarcasm whilst the other two women apologised.They even left a message to not use the mat in the toilet but there is no floor mat and the street in the hotel entrance is rough road and very muddy due to rain. Not sure how they expect guests to walk around the toilet/room.  The shower is timed which lasts for only few seconds (ok for handwashing only) we ended up pressing every few seconds  i have never been in a hotel with a shower such as theirs.  On positive note, Dave the driver and Vern in the restaurant were both very nice. Kudos to them. Otherwise, good value for money. Birds are also entertaining. Pool are nice features but could be clean.

The resort is good. It has a great pool. We love the pool. The restaurant has good food but on the expensive side. Though the rooms are a little bit small to our preference, it has what we need like TV, electric heaters, fridge, etc. We'll come back again.

Service is extremely good - bar/restaurant has attentive and friendly staff. Hotel/resort has an excellent swimming pool, kept very clean, although with only one set of steps to climb in. Somewhat hazy historical knowledge of the actual Roman Empire, though: dates are incorrect (168 BC???) and the map of the alleged Roman Empire has too many mistakes to mention. Roman women are shown in Egyptian costume rather than what we know Roman matronae wore. The failing is in their administration. We pre-booked a pick-up from the airport, which they "forgot". We only waited ten minutes or so, the time it takes to drive from hotel to airport. Our friends were less lucky; they waited 45 minutes in the morning, with the same experience of their booking having been forgotten. The telephone is often not answered, although there were always at least two people at the reception desk everytime we walked past. Rooms were clean and orderly, although our room had a light which it was impossible to turn off.

The pool was lovely and very maintained. Room was a good price for what it was. However nobody came to service the room despite me switching the room service switch on. This seems to be a pattern in the Philippines - not sure if this is something you have to request?

I recently stayed at the Roman Empire for a night and overall, it was a delightful experience. The location is fantastic.The rooms are beautifully maintained, and the pool area is a perfect spot to relax and unwind. Overall, my stay at the Hotel was very enjoyable. Despite a few minor issues, the positive aspects far outweighed the negatives. I would definitely consider staying here again and would recommend it to others looking for a place to relax.

The hotel location is near very close to the airport. Near enough to Alona area although for from Tagbilaran. It's a nice place to stay If you like to swim. Staff is very friendly and more professional than other places. I would rate them at 4star.. Here comes the negatives. My daughter cut her big toe because there was a damaged tile on the bottom of the pool. They treated my daughter but the biggest concern is that they did not warn other swimmers and I didn't see anymore do the repair even on the next day. Air-conditioner is underpowered for the room and takes a very long time to cool. Not to mention it was noisy with some kind of squealing sound. The breakfast is decent value for money but all other dishes there I would consider to be on the pricey side as its about the same price in Alona Beach which is the main tourist area. In front of the hotel and it's parking area is still all gravel so very dusty!

One of the best places we have stayed. Amazing and spacious room too.

Super near to the airport. Fare is a bit expensive in Panglao that’s why it was so ideal to stay here because it’s walking distance from the airport.

The Hotel has probably one of the best pools i personally experienced. Its large and clean. The Staff is very nice and whenever i had a concern at the counter it took never longer than a minute for someone to come and help. The Hotel has its own pretty cat thats running around inside the area (3.4.2024). I only tried the German food there but there is a lot of diffrent to choose from. Sometimes u can hear the other rooms inside ur room. I enjoyed the possibility to go right from ur room on the ground floor into the water.

The room is clean, hotel staff is accommodating. I would suggest that ala carte breakfast should have more variety but overall stay is nice.
