It’s around 13 minutes walk from JR Otaru Station, if you have luggage, just get a taxi to go there, only take around 5 minutes. This hotel is just too cute, a vintage vibe, lovely welcome drinks in classical lobby. My room is for single person, small but it’s fine. Japanese breakfast is amazing. You can have a canal view while you’re having breakfast. They provide free onsen or paid private onsen (2500 yen for 50 minutes). It’s a good stay.

Service and food was above expectation. Lovely ryokan, really enjoyed the private bath in the room and the breakfast and dinner were amazing quality. Highly recommended and will definitely be back

A super surprising hotel next to the Otaru Canal, with a retro Meiji-era style. Every corner is carefully decorated, and you can see traces of history next to the Otaru Milky Way. The hotel service is super safe and enthusiastic. I made a reservation in time for the Otaru Fireworks Festival and opened the rooftop in advance for guests to watch in an orderly manner. This is the most satisfactory hotel for my trip to Hokkaido, with the most delicious breakfast and the most comfortable hot springs.

Friendly, clean, and in a great location. It was convenient for getting to Otaru Station and the Canal Music Box Museum. While the price is a bit steep, it's not the best value, but I was satisfied.

Because of the soaring housing prices during the Sapporo Snow Festival, I chose to stay in Otaru at a similar price😀 At first, I didn't consider the distance between the canal and Otaru Station. I was really annoyed to drag my suitcase on the skating snow road in Otaru for about 20 minutes. I learned my lesson when I checked out and asked the front desk to help me call a taxi, starting at 700 yen😆 The front desk layout of this hotel is very much like the hot spring hotel in old movies in the 1950s. The souvenirs sold are of good quality but a little expensive. Although hot spring hotels have a hot spring tax of 150 yen per day, they have small gifts such as snacks, which feel like they are worth it😘 The service staff are very enthusiastic. The general decline in the level of the service industry in Japan does not seem to exist in their home, just like the old five-star hotels😁 The breakfast quality is good. Can you believe it? There are fruits and strawberries🍓. On the morning of check-out, they also sent a fried fish. Although I am not used to it, I am still very grateful😂

Not far from Otaru Station, the terrace house is across from the canal. There is a hot spring reception on the second floor and there are dogs there, which is very heartwarming.

The hotel's hot springs are amazing, and the service is excellent. You can overlook the canal directly from the hotel, and it's very convenient to go to the pedestrian street.

The staff is very kind and friendly, the open-air bath is beautiful and not crowded, and the breakfast is a buffet with different Western and Japanese dishes. Our room was full of nostalgic style, very beautiful, and had a large window overlooking the canal. It was great to be able to see the sights in a heated room.

The last stop of the journey was very comfortable. The taxi started at Otaru Station. The room was directly facing the canal. There were many small restaurants opposite. Next door was the Western Art Museum. The hot spring was so comfortable. The private bath on the 8th floor was 2500 yen for 50 minutes, but the public bath was actually more comfortable. There were very few people, both indoors and outdoors. There was also a sauna room, but a hot spring tax of 150 yen per person per day was charged. After taking a bath in the evening, I went down to the first floor to drink some wine and it was very quiet.
