Hakuba Alps Hotel

We stayed here as part of a Tripadeal Aus package and it was a classic - “you get what you pay” for experience. Hotel is definitely mid range but room sizes were ok. We stayed in a fusion Western / Japanese room with 2 singles and 2 futons on tatami mats which was fine. Smoking and smell of smoke was a bit of an issue as doors to the smoking room and karaoke lounge were left open most of the time.. so the whole place smelled. Hotel staff tried to help by offering us some scented spray and were friendly and accommodating enough (shout out to Otomo San who was very helpful through our whole trip) but the cigarette smell was bad. Being on the northern side of the valley, the hotel backs onto Hakuba Norikura Onsen and the trails were great for young ones and beginners and being ski in and out, was ideal. But you are bus rides from everything and other parts of the Valley like Happo, Tsugaike (next village) or Cortina Limited food but hotel breakfast buffet was ok but Japanese style with some mix of Western (croissants and sweet bread). We chose to eat Dinner at a local family run place instead (see other review) which was not far from hotel - walkable. Lunch at the Snow drops cafeteria outside the hotel was cheap and locally exceptional.. one of the positives. Our passes as part of the hotel deal was limited to Norikura and didn’t allow us to ski across to Cortina (fine print stuff - where as a normal Day pass should allow you to ski both of you bought it locally) or buy a Hakuba Valley pass which gives you access to all the resorts. In hindsight, we should’ve just invested in a Epic pass in Oz in 19/20 which would’ve gave us 5days skiing. Ski gear rental offered by the hotel was also pretty average with very old gear (I’m talking 10-15+ yrs old) and definitely not up to scratch if you’re expecting new-ish stuff.. we ended up organising our gear through another place in the Echoland village (see separate review) which was great. There is a luggage delivery service which was helpful to send our bags back to the airport without having to lug them around all over Japan and the trains. Hotel onsen was the saving grace and great to have it just “upstairs” after the end of the day and is segregated. All in all probably just ok.. but we stayed here for the “value” deal and local experience.

I used it for four male college students as a snowboard trip during winter vacation. I applied for a two-day tour for one night, but on the first day one of my friends hit my head with a snowboard and had to take me to the hospital. Meanwhile, he carefully investigated information about neighboring hospitals, how to get to and return to hospitals, and prepared lunch boxes for the number of people who were not in time for dinner. I am very grateful for such a polite response while I am busy! I would like to use it when I come to Hakuba again! !! Thank you very much this time!
Hotel Belle-Cour Inomata

It is less than 5 minutes' walk from Luming Cable Car Station, the Dianchi Ski Resort. There is an elevator. Health is particularly good. The room is also very large. The Japanese-style room we booked is very spacious, the suitcase can be placed on the aisle and does not occupy the room area. The facilities are slightly old but well maintained. The women's soup is a full set of Pola skin care products. Underground snowboarding is all available. Breakfast and dinner are particularly amazing. The fresh toast for breakfast exceeds most five-star hotels. The dinner meat and vegetables are not matched. Mr. Inomata served the Nagano Winter Olympics, and there was a thank you certificate issued by the organizing committee in the lobby to him and the team, and now Mr. Inomata is gray-haired. A mini family-run ski spa hotel. Warm and high standard. Highly recommended.

In short, it is a little inconvenient, but very beautiful! I just said. I usually use the affiliated Marion Shinano, but it was fully booked, so I used Granjam Tsugaike. The shortest walk to the slopes and convenience store is 5 minutes. It's a little inconvenient compared to Marion Shinano, but because it's new, the inside of the building is very clean, so the points are quite high! The only question I have is that boots are not allowed inside the building, so where should I put my sneakers? That's what it means. Even after checking out, you can use the coin lockers in the hotel, so put on your sneakers and take your boots to the drying room to change them. When I asked where to put those sneakers, he said, ”Please put them in the locker. ”They said. Right now, I'm wearing ski boots, which are prohibited inside the museum, but do I have to go back to the locker inside the museum and pay 500 yen again to put the sneakers in the coin locker? ? ? However, if you leave it in the drying room, it may be stolen or recovered... Marion Shinano has a shoe storage area, so it's a little unkind, how are you all doing? I thought.
La Vista Hotel Tsugaike - Stay on the Slopes

Here we are again, our stay at La Vista Hotel for the start of 2023 2024 season and celebrate a Happy New Year!! We were SO satisfied with our stay last season that when we decided we wanted to spend New Year at Tsugaike Kogen, we immediately thought of staying at La Vista Hotel again.. I went to check in while my husband went to park the car, and Fei, the lovely young lady at the reception greeted me with such a wonderful friendly smile, remembered me from the past season and was SO kind to help us carry our luggage to our room. Again the room was nice and warm, very clean, the mattresses and pillows VERY comfortable and clean, and I took a heavenly shower. The hot water is really nice and hot and the shower has great water pressure. Don't let the small bathroom intimidate you, you didn't come to stay in the bathroom, you came to enjoy beautiful Winter nature, have some great skiing and enjoy the awesome, warm, kind hospitality of all the staff at Hotel La Vista. The bathroom works, the shower is nice, the hot water is awesome, toilet works too, that's all you need. Want to wash in more space, go upstairs to the 5th floor, they have bathtubs there separated for females and males and these work great too. My husband did that and was happy. I was happy with the shower inside the room. Breakfast starts at 7:15 am, coffee, orange juice, milk, buns, slices of bread that you can toast in the several bread toasters available, 3 different kinds of jam, butter, cornflakes, just what anyone needs for breakfast and get ready to go skiing. We made the mistake of going to another restaurant for dinner one evening, and the dinner was just not good at all. However we did have dinner at the hotel the next evening and this time we remember to take pictures. The food is SO DELICIOUS!! The chef is SO kind & gave us a big smile. THANK YOU SO MUCH Hotel La Vista and staff for another WONDERFUL stay! We can't wait to go back! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Hotel Sunplaza Tsugaike

The breakfast is a Japanese set and the amount is quite small, there is not even coffee, and the dinner is also small and not delicious at all. Coins are used for everything, luggage storage before and after check-in is also a coin locker, snowboarding is of course a coin. There is no heating in the changing room of the hot spring, it is super cold, and there is only body soap and conditioner in shampoo. The guest room had an old-style heater. When I turned it on, the room became too dry and I couldn't sleep. I don't have a humidifier. The room is not cleaned, it says that it will be cleaned once every 3 days, so I didn't even change the towels. It wasn't good
