The hotel itself is fine and comfortable. I was just disappointed that using the pool cost an extra 1500 yen. I’d booked the hotel to be able to use the pool but didn’t see the information that it would cost extra. The pool is actually not in a great state of repair either. Also, my plans changed and I wanted to extend my stay but not only would I have had to change rooms (small inconvenience that didn’t bother me too much) the room rate went up considerably. More disappointment. I changed hotels and actually much prefer my new (cheaper!) place.

We were affected by the recent Typhoon Lan which hit Osaka and we were not able to make it to the first night of our accommodation (all Shinkansen trains and flights were cancelled). Unfortunately despite our pleas and given the circumstances, the Crowne Plaza reservations Team were unwilling to provide any form of refund for that first night. Simply replying ‘it doesn’t matter, the price is non refundable’. I will be sure in future, never to stay or recommend a Crowne Plaza hotel again given their lack of empathy.

The room is very small, about 26 square meters, but it feels less than 20. A five-star hotel that costs almost 2,000 a night, but no slippers? The bathrobe is so thin and cheap? There is no plug at the head of the bed? The stool in the room is broken like this? Very satisfied, especially the Japanese lady at the front desk who can speak Chinese. Check-in was quick and smooth. The facilities are also OK, at least clean and safe

This is the largest hotel I have ever stayed in Osaka. Clean, quiet, and cleaned every day. The front desk staff is very friendly. The hotel is close to the tram station, very convenient.
