Hotels in Dongqian Lake Scenic Area, Ningbo

Pros: Not long after booking, the staff called to inform me that my room type was upgraded (suite). The service attitude was very good, the check-in procedure was not delayed, the current environment of the hotel is also good, the hotel has a swimming pool with good water quality, free parking, and the rooms are clean, tidy, comfortable and spacious. The downsides are: the upgraded suite had an empty tatami mat on the left side of the bed, which was very strange. The doors of the shower and toilet open outwards, which is not good for placing a floor towel and water splashes easily, and it is easy to fall if you are not careful. The floor-to-ceiling windows have a wide view but the glass facade is very dirty. The breakfast variety is not large and is average. The first day was okay. On the second day, I ordered a salad and pickled cucumbers for breakfast (the pickled cucumbers were mixed with dried radish). The restaurant said they ran out yesterday and opened a new one today, but how could there be dried radish in the newly opened pickled cucumbers? The salad leaves were rotten, and it was obvious that they were not cleaned or checked properly. Even after pouring salad dressing on them, you could still see the rotten leaves. After that, they called someone over to give me a set of excuses. I asked him if you could not see it if you were a guest, and he had nothing to say. Overall, it was okay. The receptionist Xiao Chen was also very attentive. From check-in to check-out, the hotel is also quite nice after being renovated. I hope that the InterContinental brand will get better and better.

We decided to visit Dongqian Lake on short notice, and most hotels were fully booked (especially on Friday). Prices for available rooms at other hotels had also significantly increased. After looking around, Wanglan Hotel caught my eye because it was relatively new, had a stylish design, and featured a playground (a big plus when traveling with kids, haha!). More importantly, its location was perfect – right between Taoli Village and Little California Hanling, which were our planned destinations. The excellent location sealed the deal, so I booked it right away. To my surprise, immediately after booking, Wanglan Hotel called to inquire if we were traveling with children or pets. I mentioned we had kids, and she asked about the number, assuring me that all the necessary children's amenities would be prepared in our room beforehand. This was truly a pleasant surprise! Usually, even hotels marketed as family-friendly only provide a single set of children's items. Jiaojiao, our butler, was excellent for reaching out proactively and then promptly added me on WeChat for easier communication later on. Upon arrival, the staff were also very friendly and helpful, and they even brought us a complimentary fruit platter. While the playground was a bit small, it was brand new and well-equipped with everything needed. The lotus flowers outside were particularly photogenic, making for some stunning pictures... I would definitely consider staying here again next time.

The housekeeper was very warm and thoughtful. Knowing we had a child and a suitcase, he specifically came to the parking lot to pick us up and drop us off. The B&B is located in the most bustling part of the old town, so it's very convenient to go back at night when the old town is lively. Dongqian Lake is just across from the old town. The hotel has a fantastic and scenic view on the Dongqian Lake and is offering all service to just stay there and enjoy. The gym and the indoor pool area are amazing. The rental bikes at the hotel are high quality. The service is super friendly and was always helpful. Thank you.

Celebrated my birthday there. Bought a voucher which included this room with a personal hot spring bath on the terrace. As well as a photo session with 3 free photos. Photographer was nice and fast in decisions. The retouched photos were nice too. In the hotel we had a buffet dinner. Around 98 yuan. And breakfast was included. Not really a lot of delicious choices to eat, but you can find some for your satisfaction. The bed was comfy. The TV had only a few after movies. But 1 movie costs around 10-20 yuan, by scanning a QR code, which is fine. Our friends drove a car, so we went to an old city. It’s not a walking distance, but for a taxi will be close. Hot springs at night were a good decision too. The changing room seems to be reinovated, looks good. But maybe that’s why the price to hot springs has increased too. It’s around 100 yuan now. Although I’ve got it as a birthday gift, which was a veritable nice service.

It's been a long time since I've come across a homestay that's worth my praise. It's great value for money! The environment is very exquisite. To put it bluntly, it's a quiet Japanese style. The tatami on the first floor of the room and the small balcony on the second floor are suitable for leisurely tea drinking🍵 Suitable for couples on vacation It has received unanimous praise from my parents. It really takes into account the needs of drinking tea, and is equipped with tea sets and 5 liters of mineral water, which saves the step of going out to buy water. It also comes with snacks! There are dried fruits, biscuits, and an unknown bean There are cute cats in the courtyard. The service is very good, just like a friend. They patiently introduced us to the surrounding area. The recommended restaurant is delicious, very good!

Face-to-face staff are excellent with English speaking guests. Over the phone speaking English at night it’s impossible to order in-room dining or even communicate to have dishes collected. Food takes up to 45 minutes to arrive and is cold and in poor condition. Ordered an Angus burger - cold wedges and the bun was hard and cracked (perhaps left under heat lamp for too long); very poor value for money. Even buffet breakfasts are a little rough around the edges. On day 1 there was honey. On day 2 there was no will in the restaurant to supply honey or even check with the kitchen. Again, all staff (including janitors and handymen) are usually amazing and helpful. The team went out of their way to make my child feel welcome with free toys and activity packs.

The service is very good. The location is excellent. There are not so many people staying in the hotel. The privacy and quietness are very good. The breakfast is very good. I will consider coming next time. If there is anything that needs to be improved, it is that this place is far from the food. It is difficult to get a taxi and the parking space is limited.

The food is even more unexpected! The complimentary breakfast is full and tastes positive. Every mouthful is solid. The afternoon tea is even more amazing. I heard that it is made by the homestay chef himself. The dessert is exquisite and not greasy. The drinks are refreshing and detoxifying. Sitting in the lakeside yard slowly enjoy, happiness is directly full. The atmosphere of the store must also be praised! During the day, the fresh and elegant courtyard scenery is lighted. At night, the candles are lit and flowers are placed in the hotel. The warm yellow lights reflect the flowers and plants. The atmosphere is full in an instant, quiet and healing, and there is no noise at all. I want to enjoy the slow time here quietly.

It was my first time to visit Dongqian Lake. There were many hotels. I chose Qixin Resort. It was very cost-effective, moderately priced, and had a good environment. Opposite Dongqian Lake, it was a ten-minute walk to Hanling Old Street, which was ancient and worth visiting. The flow of people was quite large. The resort was full of villas, which were Chinese-style and could not compare to the luxury of a five-star hotel. They were more cozy. Each villa had a large living room and a separate bathroom, which was suitable for family gatherings, company team building, and traveling with children. The service was especially great. The girl at the front desk was enthusiastic and recommended travel plans. The room service was in place and the luggage was taken to the second floor. She also introduced the attractions of Dongqian Lake. It is worth recommending. I will come again when I come to Dongqian Lake.
