I liked this hotel from the photo. I booked it for 2 days due to its proximity to the airport, and they also offered a free transfer upon arrival.
The room was spacious, hot water, white bed linen!
They also have a wonderful pool where you can swim until late in the evening with beautiful lighting.
I didn’t really like the breakfast (I took it separately for 1450 rupees) and their cuisine, it wasn’t tasty to me.
And since the hotel is located in the middle of nowhere, there are no cafes or shops around, this was a significant minus.
But the very atmosphere of the hotel, the cozy garden and terrace with incredibly comfortable chairs and the complete absence of guests in the hotel captivated me, and I decided to extend my stay for another day.
I'd love to go back to them someday!

We had an amazing holiday in this beautiful resort. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Room was well equipped and comfortable with all the amenities. Nice sea view rooms. This is the best place in negambo if you search a relaxing holiday. Pool and surroundings are amazing. Restaurant staff were friendly and always with a smile. Special thank to chathuranga. Breakfast is generally but a large amount, relatively simple, medium and medium rules. The room is huge, the bathroom is huge, there are slippers, but there is no toothpaste toothbrush, no water, the hotel door has a small supermarket in a few tens of meters, it is convenient, there are food, there are fruits. The hotel is not far from the north of the lagoon, the hotel beach is good.

This was my third stay at the Goldi Sands, honestly, the last time was nearly 20 years ago but I had such a great time back then I had high expectations. In the intervening 20 years, the hotel has had a revamp, double the size, double the number of swimming pools, added an elevator and they've removed the beach-fronted bungalows. All of which I think was a smart move and well worth doing. What has changed is the service and the catering. The staff are of course all very polite just that they didn't go the extra mile like they used to. We arrived late as our flight had been delayed, all I wanted was a couple of bottles of beer, they did arrive but I almost had to beg. I booked a taxi to the airport with the front desk, but they forgot, the waitresses at dinner were all about the hard upsell rather than serving. The breakfast as far as my memory serves me used to be awesome, today's breakfast is the same every day and lacks imagination, is poorly presented, and includes the worst coffee ever. The hotel has a confusing number of tariffs from all-inclusive to room only which means if you want to buy a drink it takes forever as they have to check your ”status” and then if you pay cash they have to go to the cashier as they carry no float. The rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable but basic. All in all it is still a good hotel to choose but sadly it is no longer in the memorable category.

For those who love Bawa, this is undoubtedly an extremely beautiful and touching hotel
The location of the hotel is also extremely beautiful, with the lagoon on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other.
But for ordinary travelers, it will appear to be very low value for money, everything is so old, and there is no modern sophistication.

I recently stayed at Vivanta Colombo Airport Gardens and had a mixed experience. The pool area is absolutely fabulous, offering a great place to relax. The food exceeded my expectations, with wonderful flavors and a good variety. The staff were notably attentive, contributing positively to the overall experience. However, the pricing felt a bit steep for what was offered, especially given the disappointing room view which was just overlooking buildings, contrary to the picturesque images advertised. Additionally, the terms and conditions were confusing and poorly written, potentially disadvantaging guests. A word of advice: skip the pricey airport shuttle service, which costs 4000 Sri Lankan rupees, and opt for an Uber or PickMe ride, which you can get for around 500 rupees.

but during morning time sometime we had to wait until pool cleaning ended. so it would be batter if they make it before visitors coming to enter pool.
management must educate all room service staff to not to ask for cigarettes from client during the stay.. it's annoying and disturbing. if the visitors gives or offer tips or something , let the visitors do it with thier own choices..

Arrived at the hotel around 9 pm, the boss had waited there and welcomed us warmly, gave us a local very special sour and sweet drink, and then patiently introduced us to the relevant information.
The layout of the homestay is very beautiful. The water pressure and water temperature are very suitable when taking a bath. There is also a small balcony where no mosquitoes are encountered. Going downstairs at night, the sound in the living room is playing music, so emotional! ! ! Walking in the hotel garden, with the lights, sitting on the rocking chair, feeling the breeze, very comfortable ～
The breakfast time was agreed, but it was 20 minutes late and we were not urged. When we arrived at the restaurant, the proprietress brought the breakfast up, warm, and the boss patiently and politely introduced us to each kind of food.
Very rich breakfast, you can choose black tea or coffee, with drinking water and fruit drinks, sausage and flown fried eggs, I love it! Local specialties of pasta and fruit, mainly sweet, roasted toast, as well as jam and butter, don't be too perfect ～
The boss and the proprietress get along very comfortable, and the speech behavior makes people feel very friendly and enthusiastic. When we left, the driver and we also said that we felt that the boss was very good and very polite.
Unfortunately, I chose to stay in Negombo for one night. I am very sorry. I hope I can come to Sri Lanka again in the future and stay in this hotel for a few more nights. This hotel has a good start for my trip, very happy 😄

Rratdeschamps10 years later we returned to GOMEZ PLACE, which I had rated 5/5. Well, the level of welcome is still the same, thanks in particular to the staff who are very attentive to customers and very helpful. For example, on arrival, we noticed a problem with the water pressure to the shower and they sent the plumber immediatly. The breakfast is copious (a plate with 3 fruits, a fruit juice, fried eggs or an omelette), tea or coffee, slices of sandwich bread with butter and jam. The room is very large (we were in room 17 around 30m²) as is the attached bathroom and the bed is very comfortable. there is a fan and also air conditioning.

The owners are just the most adorable. I was a solo female traveller and they looked after me like parents. So sweet. Small but clean rooms. Loved the art decor. Bright and cheery. Cosy. Small swimming pool. Loved the pets too. Nice set breakfast, freshly cooked and served to you. Really short and simple straight walk to the beach, restaurants and bars. I went on a boat cruise one evening and the owners checked to see that the company was legitimate. On two separate evenings, they reserved me lovely tables at restaurants and made sure I had good service. They got up early when I left to help with my luggage and to see me off. Support small businesses. Absolutely lovely.

GGuest UserWe booked two weeks based on reviews and photos and should have checked more closely as none of those were recent. The photos are from 2017. Where do I start, well in my humble opinion accommodation needs to fulfil some basics, namely cleanliness, service, maintenance, value for money. So let's look at this. Cleanliness is frankly appalling, our room was cleaned only after we insisted on day 5 and then only again when we asked but no towel change on either occasion. We are sure the room was full of mosquitos as we are covered in bites. The bedroom had ants and a visiting lizard. It all needed a thorough clean. The pool toilets are a disgrace and if management have looked at them in the last 5 years they have done nothing and certainly not cleaned them there isn't even a door! The pool loungers are filthy and literally have not been cleaned for a considerable time either plus there is not enough for the number of guests and they are very uncomfortable with only one position and no recline close to the worst I've ever sat on. 1/10 Service The restaurant is closed as is the bar and if you want to talk to anyone you have to be quick as reception is not manned for any length of time. The small amount of staff there are helpful though.Difficult to score service when they are not present 1/10 Maintenance The whole site has clearly had no maintenance or attention for several years even basic things. The reception toilet door lock is broken the pool toilets doesn't even have a door the communal areas are dirty flaking paint and dirt everywhere all in all very disappointed on what would have been a lovely spec previously but sadly those days are gone. Then there is the noise and bedrooms, we were on the back of the propert in a suite and the church rang it's bells every morning at 5am loudly enough and long enough to wake us every morning, they also broadcast their service over loudspeakers. The black out blinds don't black out anything and the locals use the side alley as a play area letting off fireworks at all hours when I say we got no sleep it was so bad we left and booked into another hotel after 5 days and when we came back guess what they still hadn't cleaned it. Summary No sleep, dirty rooms, biten to death, rubbish loungers.

GGuest UserWe where let down by our original booking and Rani hotel took us in with a great price. We extended by 5 days and loved our stay. Helpful and accommodating owners, it was the biggest room we have stayed in, the AC worked great and the rooms where clean…..and cleaned again after a few days with fresh sheets etc. It was literally 1 minute walk to the beach! Would recommend!

Well, I had a workation here for 2 weeks. And I had just fallen in love) There's so warm friendly staff, tasty food, comfortable rooms and a house! ❤️ We had a possibility to work outside, near the pool and cool down after each call:) Breakfast everyday was great and delicious (that could be healthy european cousin, or colorful local one). We had found out a lot about local food, people and traditions due to talking with manager 🥰 I'm happy)

TTraveling TanI stayed in this hotel for a week. It’s only been open for 5 months and at first appearance it looks good, but taking a closer look it’s still being built and repaired. There are still cables jutting out of the wall and ceiling. Although the kitchen is featured in the photos of the room, it has no tap, the cupboards are sealed. I raised some of my concerns when I arrived with the general manager when he asked me questions about my stay and he seemed blasé about addressing it. Based on what was paid, this hotel is overpriced. There are still cement stairways and drilling taking place during the day. The WiFi is awful, they finally installed a router in my room which took the week to do and it only worked on the day of my departure. The best part of the hotel is some staff members who will go out of their way to help, special mention to Jazz. They have a great pool on the roof. Until it’s fully built I wouldn’t recommend staying here!

GGuest UserThe hotel is located in a relatively narrow alley, which is not very convenient for travel. It is suitable for hotel guests. The room is large, the hygiene and facilities are average, and the professionalism of the service staff needs to be improved. I caught a flight in the morning and didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on the food. However, the scenery of the hotel is first-class. The balcony is spacious and you can enjoy the unobstructed scenery from the balcony. You can enjoy the beautiful sunset and sunrise. Thumbs up
