We initially had a very good impression of Regenta Arie Lagoon after contacting the banquet and sales manager. He was extremely friendly and helpful, and we were impressed by the attractive nett rates and well-priced packages he offered. The hotel’s social media shows a beautiful venue, especially the garden and lagoon areas, which seem perfect for weddings and other gatherings. However, these photos focus mainly on the outdoor spaces and don't reflect the overall condition of the hotel. When we visited the property, it felt more like a 2 or 3-star hotel. The service standard was not what we expected. Although we had a prior appointment with the banquet and sales manager, he was unavailable and instead sent another staff member, someone who appeared to be from the maintenance team to show us around. We want to be clear that we have no issue with the person who helped us. He was very polite, and we are not saying he wasn’t good enough for us in any way. However, he simply wasn’t equipped to answer the important questions we had regarding wedding planning. That kind of guidance should come from the banquet and sales manager, who has the proper knowledge to help us. The garden was the only well-maintained part of the property. Leading to the ballroom, the wooden staircase was badly scratched and damaged. The walls had large blotches and marks, the wallpaper was peeling off, the pathway to the ballroom had visible footprints and many areas of the carpet in the ballroom were torn. It was quite disappointing, especially since Regenta Arie Lagoon is part of Royal Orchid Hotels Ltd. The hotel has so much potential, particularly as a destination wedding venue, but it’s clearly in need of better upkeep and more honest representation. This review is not written to insult or damage the hotel’s reputation. It is shared out of genuine concern for couples who live in other far off districts or overseas, who might make a booking based solely on the attractive packages, friendly communication, and beautiful social media content without visiting the venue in person. We hope this helps others make a more informed decision.
