That was perfect choice for us - we spent 2 nights in this place and we didn’t even expect how cool it could be to stay in this kind of hotel. Highly recommended to stay here if you’re in Nikijin

We booked a 2-night stay at WoodPecker Nakijin to experience camper van living. Due to some delays at the airport, we arrived late and had to contact the hotel since they don’t offer 24-hour check-in. We didn’t get a reply, so our rental car staff kindly helped us call the hotel — although they didn’t speak English, they were helpful and guided us through self check-in via our rental car staff. The environment was well maintained, but the facilities inside the camper van were quite dated. We had to skip showering the first night as there was no hot water, though the issue was promptly fixed the next morning. The steps inside the camper van were quite high, and I tripped a few times during our stay. It rained heavily on our second night, and unfortunately, the noise from the rain hitting the roof made it difficult to sleep. On the plus side, the location was easy to find — there’s a large signboard right by the road, so you can’t miss it. The site offers free parking (you can park right next to your camper van), as well as a spa, sauna, swimming pool, and BBQ pit. There’s also a beautiful, private beach right behind the hotel with a great view. The hotel is close to Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, Nakijin Castle Ruins, and Bise Village. However, there isn’t a convenience store within walking distance — you’ll need to drive about 5 minutes to reach one.

It is easy find the place and very clean and quiet. Wifi is good and it is clean but the room is old. Overall is fine.

It was great experience except we were NOT allowed to cook in the camping car! Enjoyed sauna tho

Wood Pecker Nakijin is a lovely place. The hotel rooms was converted from old train compartments which made them so special. It was like staying in a real trailer! Free SPA is provided that adds a plus to it. Moreover, the beach is just behind the hotel, it takes only few minutes to walk there. One thing I believe Wood Pecker Nakijin needs to improve is the water temperature for shower. It was unstable during my whole stay there. P.S. Nakijin Castle Ruins is so close to the hotel, it takes only about 10 minutes for driving and within 30 minutes walking distance from Wood Pecker Nakijin. If you stay in Nakijin Village, make sure you go there, It is worth seeing!

The water pressure was strong, but the bathroom was small and the decoration was a bit old. There was a special smell as soon as you entered the door, and the decoration was not well maintained. The bed is quite hard and there is a swimming pool.

Awesome place, perfect for a holiday stay with family and friends

The place is very beautiful and right next to the beach. It has a swimming pool (it was just a bit dirty), a sauna, a small restaurant, and free parking. However, the trailer we stayed in was very old, rusty, and smelled very musty. It was hard to sleep with the smell.

The room is relatively old. I am very disappointed that the campervan cannot cook. It only has a microwave. Fortunately, if you drive by yourself, you can eat out. Otherwise, you can only buy BBQ meals from the local area, which is expensive!

I came here five years ago. This is my second visit and I stayed in car No. 7. The indoor space is quite large, but the sofa is a bit moldy. I really recommend changing it~ It's very close to the Marine Life Museum. It's very convenient to walk down the stairs to the beach. But it happened to rain heavily this time, which is a pity that I can't go for a walk on the beach. Looking forward to next time

First of all, there is too little public transportation in northern Okinawa. If you are not renting a car, it is strongly not recommended to stay here. We were careless and didn't pay attention to the expiry of our international driver's license, so we found out at the last minute that we couldn't rent a car, but the hotel couldn't be changed, so we had to bite the bullet and go. The journey was too hard. It took us three hours to take the bus from Naha Airport to Nakijin. It was impossible to call Uber at the castle ruins. Fortunately, someone helped us call a taxi. Yes, it is basically impossible to call Uber in northern Okinawa. Staying in a campervan was indeed a fun experience and the kids found it very new. The bathing area in the campervan is very narrow, but they have a public bathroom and sauna, which is very good. Unfortunately, it is not open 24 hours a day, so you have to go at the right time. The swimming pool is relatively small and the beach is beautiful but there are no lifeguards, so be careful when entering the water. The breakfast portion was small and not enough, the coffee was terrible. The biggest problem is that there is no dinner in the restaurant. It should be said that for dinner, there is only BBQ, and you must make a reservation in advance, and you have to cook it yourself. Or you can buy something outside and rent their BBQ stove, but when we arrived on the first day , there was absolutely nothing to eat. Since we didn’t have a car, we were quite helpless at that moment. Later, we saw on Google Maps a barbecue restaurant that could be reached in about 10 minutes' walk, so we went there. It was very difficult to find the small restaurant. It felt like it was a hut in the forest, but there were still many customers, so I didn't comment on whether it was delicious or not. , I was very grateful to have something to eat at that moment. However, in the suburbs, there are many stars at night, which is very beautiful. It's not far from Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium and Motobu Genki Village.
