great hotel in Mossel bay! We didn't realize Mossel Bay was a busy commercial port, but the hotel delivered: a nice room, comfortable bed, plenty of room and a nice sitting area complete with small kitchenette! We had a nice view of the harbor and were welcomed and shown to our room with kind hospitality. The property is nice and we ended up eating in the restaurant adjacent for dinner: Cafe Gannet. It was was packed, and we know why--terrific food and service! Although Mossel Bay itself was somewhat disappointing for us as part of the ”Garden Route”, the hotel was terrific.

We booked a package including 3-course lunch, 1 game drive in the afternoon, 3-course dinner, 1 night, 1 morning game drive and breakfast. We paid a lot of money for this package and it should have been the highlight of our holiday in South-Africa. The welcome was very friendly and warm when we arrived. We had lunch, and as I was not feeling well I only had a main course (instead of 3-courses). After lunch we went to the room and at first sight, the room looks perfect, but when looking more in detail not everything was clean (shower, toilet...). At 3 o'clock in the afternoon, we had to be ready for our first game drive. As I was not feeling very well and the temperature was high that day, the waiter of the restaurant asked me if I wanted to have some extra water during the game drive, which was nice. According to me, everybody should receive a small bottle of water during the game drive (for sure when the temperature is high). The game drive itself was perfect, our ranger Alex did a really great job. We saw a lot of animals, got a lot of info and could ask all questions we had. After our game drive we went to our room to get ready for dinner. As I was still not feeling very well, I only had a starter and a main course and I didn't had a dessert, but took a tea instead. Afterwards we noticed that the extra water I had on the game drive and the tea I had instead of the dessert, we had to pay while I had 3-courses (not at lunch and not at dinner). This is just ridiculous. The next morning, we had another game drive, which was also perfect. Breakfast I didn't enjoy as I was still not feeling well. After we checked out, we used the swimming pool, which was very dirty at the bottom. We stayed in a lot of different accomodations during our trip in South-Africa, Botlierskop was de most expensive one and at the same time the worst. We would only recommend the game drive, but I would never recommend people to stay here.

Whilst it's not the Kruger one still has a feeling of Wilderness. Mountain Ridge villa is my best. We were all alone with vast mountain views, visiting eland, sable, springbok. The huge thatch house was generously equipped, plus tea/coffee, milks. It's a 15 minute drive to the main lodge but staying remotely was worth it. Having said that, Kwena lodge is delightful with it's cute domed chalets, gorgeous pool and such helpful staff. The food is excellent, not too over the top but original, interesting and well prepared. We loved our ranger Q, who more than went the extra mile. We didn't do many game drives, preferring to enjoy tranquility and views at the villa. Pity that Kwena was fenced but some guests complained it was unsafe. Visiting ellies are my best. I love that they are trying eradicate the wattle. The infestations are rather severe, over-taking the natural vegetation. Looking forward to the day when it's just fynbos, birds, bees, animals.

No words can really describe this heavenly place. From check in to check out you will feel like royalty and experience a sense of relaxation!! The rooms are stunning, with crisp white linen, huge bath tubs to relax in and a view from your balcony that you will never forget. Theanne is the most a amazing host, and makes you feel like you are at home. Here breakfast is the best I have ever experienced, going the extra mile for her guests making sure they are well looked after, from baking bread, to having flap jacks for the kids she is one of a kind and we just enjoyed each stay with her!! Thank you once again for having us at your wonderful guesthouse, our hearts are filled with the best memories and we will always recommend Marine Manor to every one we meet!!!

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I loved the amazing view from the balcony. We watched the sunrise each morning and it was so beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well. The breakfast was great with plenty of choices. The hotel is clean, modern and high end. My partner and I would definitely stay again. The staff could not do enough for you.
