2-Star Hotels in Monterey

A typical American motel with a good location, just across the road is Macy's and some restaurants. There is also a drug store CVS, but unfortunately I did not buy a mask. There is a swimming pool and gym in the hotel, but the pool is small and slightly larger than the bathtub. The gym is also very small

The hotel is located on a street in Monterey, and it is easy to see the navigation in the past. The parking lot is downstairs in the room. The hotel has a beautiful European style with a garden and a small dining room. The rooms are quite large with a fireplace. Breakfast is relatively simple, bread and fruit coffee granola.

Best Western Plus Monterey Inn has the potential of being a good hotel provided it addresses several problems. On the plus side the rooms are comfortable, good coffee and tea service available 24 hours, filtered water machine in the lobby helps avoid waste. Unfortunately the breakfast is worse than what I experienced in the past at Best Westerns with very few options to choose from. The hot tub was broken - this was not mentioned when the reservation was made. The pool was not properly heated nor cleaned. Requesting identification while asking for pool towels makes guests feel unwelcome. Addressing these problems is not difficult and would help improve the overall experience of staying at this hotel.

Hotel is clean and nice. Customer service needs improvement. The deal says it includes breakfast but upon checking in there is none.

It should be a private hotel, but the room is very good, the double bed is also very big, the breakfast is American, the place where the hotel stays is provided with fruit and hot water, the parking is in the yard, the room on the first floor can be opened and there is a small balcony. It’s about 20 minutes to walk from the hotel to the pier. It’s nice to go for a dinner.

The room was not included in the breakfast, the front desk was warm, and the house on the first floor was gone. The front desk volunteered to help people bring the suitcase to the second floor. The most convenient is less than 100 meters from the gas station.

We stayed at Wave Street Inn for a few nights in mid/late June. Upon arrival we encountered what was truly a minor room issue, but the way it was handled by the front desk was incredibly unprofessional, humiliating, and inexcusable, to the point that we asked if we could check out of this motel early, without a penalty (and the only reason for the missing 5th stars). Jon came to our rescue, and went so above and beyond to make things right for us. He gave us a new room (fresh start) and even checked up on us the next day. His genuine concern, professionalism, and friendliness was heartwarming. Christine, too, was helpful to us, giving us great advice about things to do in the area, and Carol was very warm and welcoming when we made our reservations. These are the people (especially Jon) who would make us come back to Wave Street Inn again and again. As for the Inn, it's a reminiscent of a mid-century motel, a bit dated but with tons of character, comfy bed with nice linens, and super strong water pressure in the shower. And nice and clean. If I had one wish: that the motel provided conditioner along with the shampoo. The conditioning shampoo doesn't really work; I thought that the hand lotion was the conditioner and used that the first night. A fun story to tell, anyway! One more huge positive... the location (fantastic) and the AMAZING Wave Street Cafe across the street. Best breakfast ever!

I have lived in one of the best motels and the room is very plentiful. The light in the room and the toilet are very bright, the shampoo conditioner has everything, and the charging port is enough. Praise
