Pet friendly Hotels Monchengladbach

Check-in was not pleasant. It was clear that the receptionist would rather be elsewhere when checking in the gentleman before me and then myself. This young lady did not appreciate queries about local restaurants either. I returned to reception to check on parking and the same lady rolled her eyes. Very rude and no idea about customer service. Ordered a beer in the bar but it was slow coming. The barman was more interested in laughing with and serving the gang of Italians (Fellow countrymen) than anyone else in the bar. Room was average with strange floopy pillows. Could not get free wifi to work properly. Meal in restaurant quite average. Lifts were slow and full of staff moving bedding up and down floors. Not a good hotel at all. I would steer clear next time I am in town.

We stayed here for business due to the proximity to our office. The hotel targets football fans with trophies on display and a direct access to stadium tours, floors are named after football players/leagues as well as rooms. My room looked exactly like a football changing room with pictures of Borussia players, it was nice and clean and the view over the stadium was lovely. I didn't like the fact that the bed wasn't made, I had a double bed with 2 single duvets that were left on the side, the shower drainage seemed to be clogged and kept flooding so the water almost reached the interconnecting door, the blinds are not user friendly at all and I had to call down to reception several times (same for my colleagues). Lastly, the TV is placed on the side of the bed making it impossible to watch it whilst in bed. We used their restaurant several times and the service was extremely slow. On the first day it took 40 minutes for a salad and a coca cola whilst the night after we had to wait over 1h for our meals (4 people). We asked if we could watch the Champions League quarters of final match, we were told that this wasn't possible as the match was broadcasted by DAZN and the bar only had a SKY license. This was extremely weird considering that we were in a sport bar inside of a ”sport hotel” surrounded by football screens 24/7. Reception staff was nice and polite.

The hotel environment is very good.

Very friendly and professional staff. The entire hotel and rooms are kept very clean and tidy. The location is really convenient, with easy walking distance to town center, bus and train stations. There is a great cafe with very friendly staff around the corner in the same structure, as well as a small grocery store and gas station/convenience store in the same lot. My only complaint, as with most hotels I've used recently is the beds are much too soft these days, like an overstuffed giant pillow. Not comfortable and bad for my back. This seems to be an annoying trend and not specific to McDreams, so despite this one issue I would absolutely use McDreams hotel again if I revisit the city.

Das Hotel befindet sich in einem guten Zustand. Das Zimmer war für ein Familienzimmer eher klein und insbesondere das Bad war winzig, so dass hier ein Aufenthalt mit mehr als einer Person kaum möglich war. Sehr angenehm ist das problemlose und unkomplizierte Check-out-Prinzip sowie die Tatsache, dass es keine Schlüsselkarten gibt sondern alles über einen Code geregelt ist. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis beim Frühstück ist eher weniger passend und insbesondere das Angebot an Produkten für Personen mit Laktoseintoleranz ist als unbefriedigend zu bezeichnen. Kostenlose Parkmöglichkeiten sind ausreichend geboten, hier ist man halt drauf angewiesen, dass alle Gäste vernünftig parken und auch an ihre Mitmenschen denken.

Because of train delays I had to find a hotel in the middle of the night. Crown Select was the third one that I contacted by phone, they asked me to bring 100 euros of cash as a deposit. I explained that I didn't carry that amount of cash with me and that I could pay the hotel bill in advance (by bank-card) but they insisted (policy of that hotel). With a taxi driver i had to find an available ATM / cash machine, which generated a much bigger taxi bill (many cash machines weren't available in Mönchen-Gladbach after 22 o'clock). In my opinion this policy is un-human, un-necessary (people leave their passport not for no reason!!!). un-inviting (especially when in an unpleasant situation at midnight as I was in). THIS SHOULD BE FORBIDDEN. Pity for the hotel - anything else was good - one could skip the over-priced breakfast for 19 euros though.

Excellent staff and first class facilities. Great food and comfortable rooms. Reception team were very helpful when our car broke and helped us with great support. Thank you to the entire team at the hotel.

This hotel is 1.2 mi (2 km) from Abteiberg Museum and 1.5 mi (2.5 km) from Old Market Square.A shuttle from the airport to the hotel is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.Make yourself at home in one of the 12 guestrooms, featuring kitchens with refrigerators and microwaves. Wir haben 2 Nächte im Doppelzimmer in dem Hotel verbracht. Zunächst einmal die sehr wenigen positiven Punkte: Die Matratzen waren sehr bequem und das Zimmer war sauber und recht groß. Es gab kostenlose Parkplätze, allerdings nicht wirklich viele. Das war es dann aber leider auch schon. Das Hotel hat 3 Sterne, wahrscheinlich weil es die formalen Kriterien erfüllt, wie Safe und Kühlschrank im Zimmer. Ansonsten hat das Hotel noch nicht mal das Niveau einer Jugendherberge. Man wird im Hof bzw. in der Einfahrt von jeder Menge Müll und Dreck begrüßt, während das Personal rumsitzt und sich langweilt. Das Badezimmer sah aus, als hätte man es aus den Achtziger Jahren importiert. Das Waschbecken und diverse Fliesen waren kaputt. Das Frühstück war unseres Erachtens in Teilen gesundheitsgefährdend. Wie gesagt wir waren zwei Nächte dort. Bei beiden Frühstücken standen definitiv die gleichen Schüsseln mit Geflügelsalat, Shrimpscocktail, Joghurt und Obstsalat ungekühlt und unabgedeckt auf dem Buffet. Auf dem Geflügelsalat und dem Shrimpscocktail hat sich schon eine Haut gebildet. Die Brühe, in der der Dosen Obstsalat schwamm, war schon braun verfärbt. Ich vermute mal, dass er auch schon am Vortag dort stand, so wie er schon am ersten Tag aussah. Der Automatenkaffee war ungenießbar. Rührei und Würstchen waren an beiden Tagen angebrannt. Der Speck war komplett verbrannt. Am zweiten Tag hatte man vergessen daruntrer den Brenner zum Warmhalten anzuzünden. Lösung des Personals: alles nochmal, vermutlich im Backofen warm machen. Danach war es dann endgültig ungenießbar. Die Brötchen waren entweder fast ungebacken oder vermutlich mehrfach aufgebacken. Die Croissants am ersten Morgen waren sehr dunkelbraun und sind quasi zu Staub zerfallen. Das Personal war sehr wahrscheinlich durchweg ungelernt und anscheinend überhaupt nicht eingewiesen, was ihr Job ist. Sie saßen eigentlich immer alle nur rum und waren augenscheinlich gelangweilt oder haben sich unterhalten. Daneben standen die verwelkten Zimmerpflanzen und sehnten sich nach Zuwendung Die Räumlichkeiten der früheren Fabrik hätten eigentlich durchaus Potenzial. Wenn man ein bisschen Arbeit, Geld und Liebe investieren würde und Personal hätte, dem etwas am Hotel und den Gästen liegt, könnte es 3 Sterne Niveau erreichen.
