Family getaway; the hotel was clean, nice breakfast and lovely swimming area. We only had breakfast included with our booking but we tried out their dinner option which was quite expensive when looking at the exchange and then also the different variety of food (not much to pick from). We looked forward to “Jazz Friday” and nothing took place which was quite disappointing. The hotel was far from amenities so we stayed indoors most of the time and when we did go out, we spent around €110 on transport to and from 🙄 (Uber rides that were 15-20 mins) We spent a lot of takeaways too but that’s just us being curious on the different foods but also escaping the hotel prices which would of been more. In conclusion, Novotel Milano Malpensa is a nice hotel if you just want to relax and not really go anywhere, bring extra money with you, kick back and relax. Oh yeah, be ready to watch their lovely flat screen smart TV in all Italian and no English audio or subtitles. You’ll be excited to see YouTube but guess what? It’s disconnected, WiFi connection is given with 24 hour access code, after that you ask for another code😅..Enjoy but thanks Novotel!
It's a typical Novotel Hotel class.
Efficient and modern style of hotel.
Good for travellers who need to catch up to the flight from Linate Airport.
Came with family (2 adults, 2 kids, 1 infant)
Took a taxi ride from Milan Centrale Stazione that cost us only €20 and 12 minutes journey.
Pro
- very close to Linate Airport. Only 2 mins by driving to the airport. But not advisable to walk to the airport from the hotel as you need to cross highway.
- modern and elegant stylish hotel.
- we got ground floor room, which was good for families.
- very fast and easy check in as booking with Trip.com ensure you smooth process.
- facilities was abundant - outdoor swimming pool, gym, park for leisure.
- tremendous breakfast. Good selection of food and variety
- room was acceptable but a little bit tight if you brought large suitcases
Cons
- they charged €5 for shuttle van to the airport. Unusual for an hotel located nearby an airport to charge customers on the shuttle service. We did not use the service to the airport as the timing schedule does not fit to our plan movement to the airport.
- outdoor swimming pool water was too cold to swim during end of spring.
- you need to wear swimming cap to swim. Or you need to buy the swimming cap at the restaurant. But it was a lousy quality of swimming cap costing us for €5 each.
-
Pro:
1. Welcoming friendly staff who are on top of things
2. Near metro and tram stop, there’s a good pizzeria nearby
3. Good bed and shower
4. Generally in a quiet and safer area
Cons
1. Sound proofing not great. Can hear outside traffic, foot traffic in the morning, and can hear lift engine in some rooms.
Overall good value for money in Milan.
