Our room was very comfortable and the 4th floor location was great! The room was listed as a garden view, but from our lovely terrace, we definitely had partial ocean view! We loved having a terrace complete with a table, 2 chairs, two lounge chairs and a remote control awning, to make shade if needed! The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was nice. The front desk staff and the staff in the dining area were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast choices were varied and good. We didn’t use the rooftop pool, lounge chairs, or hot tub but it looked fun. We also didn’t swim or access the private beach; the price of 50 Euros for 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella seemed a bit expensive. We were unsure if we could have gone there just to sit and have a drink without paying a fee. We should have asked. The location is about a 20 minute walk from the train station and there are no sidewalks for a small section as you get close to the hotel, so you have to change to the water side of the street and then cross back over. The city buses from the train station seem to always be very, very full so using the bus with any luggage would have been almost impossible.

Good service, delicious breakfast, comfortable bedding, clean and tidy bathroom, next to the supermarket, very convenient. But the hotel does not have paper towels, no hot water bottle and coffee facilities

Really unique property, on an interesting hillside sloping down to the sea! So many places to sit and view the harbor! I feel like I had one of the most unique rooms on the 3rd floor, on the east side of the building, which for many would not be suitable since it's not directly facing the ocean but on the side. However, it had a very long, private spacious balcony with two lounge chairs, and a small table for two with chairs facing the sea! Like a small rooftop terrace. A private space to read and relax, and watch the boats sail by! Lovely gardens, and meals were good. Thank you! (What a fun swimming area! Why do you charge a fee for simple lounge chairs by the sea?? Never seen this done anywhere) Category: Large Single room with Sea view, Queen bed, and Terrace

Excellent hotel, great location, very comfortable bed. Helpful front desk staff. We could drive right up to this hotel, unload, and park right there! This is not typical in small towns in Europe. Bathroom was a little dated but totally fine! The breakfast was awesome and the view from the dining area where breakfast is served is breathtaking. I would stay there again just for that view.

Real nice location (very close to the boat port and Seawall of Camogli ) and also real nice service. Room is very clean and suitable but pity bathroom is little bit small .The house owner is really warm-hearted person and very willing to give some suggestions to us . When u enjoy ur coffee behind the best sunset you’ll know its worthy for everything

Due to an unexpected curtailing of a cruise I needed a hotel close to the airport at a decent price and this one fitted the bill. Check in easy. Room on floor 6 was spacious and clean with 2 single beds. TV channels all Italian. You're in Italy so fair enough. Not much round in terms of eateries on foot that I could see so Deliveroo will be your friend. Breakfast not great but it was in with the price so 🤷 Genoa airport is about 150m away so easily walkable which was my main reason for using. Not really close to Genoa centre so will have limited appeal to tourists although there are lovely mountain views to the rear.

I’ve visited the Splendido four times over the years and went back this summer (June 2024). As a lover of the hotel and its spectacular setting, I’ve soured on it as of late. What made the property so special was its charming location and soul, privacy and largely European customer base. But as they have continued to raise prices (now almost $3,000 a night for a very small standard room), the visitors have also changed (now mostly wealthy Arabs and Russians and influencers who prance around taking hundreds of photos). It’s almost become tacky. Many tourists not staying there (mostly influencers) march around the property taking photos for their Instagram, getting in your way at the pool and standing there for minutes getting the perfect shot. It’s certainly not what it used to be and definitely lost its soul.
