Wayam Mundo Imperial
4.4/596 Reviews
Not sure why this hotel is so highly rated. Nothing about it is terrible, but the devil is in the details. The Good: - Staff is super friendly, incl. the valet - Rooftop pool and bar are really nice and a great feature - Overall layout of the hotel is charming - Great water pressure and genourous rooms The not so good: - Upon check-in, they tried charging us a 240/day ”resort fee”. After further questioning they said it was optional and would pay for the WiFi and the gym. Not a great business practice, espcially for a 5* hotel - Overall the hotel looks a bit dated and would benefit from some more maintenance - We booked a double room but were given a king room - when they showed us to a double room it was quite dirty - dirt on the linens, bathroom counter wasn't wiped down - so we just made do with the king instead - Beds weren't terrible, but I've slept better Location is a bit off the beaten path. Not bad but is was about a 20-30 walk to the city centre and the nicer restaurants.
Hilton Garden Inn Merida

Zona Norte
Just spent 2 nights here but found the hotel to be well connected with free parking, shopping and restaurants; what else do you need? It is actually connected to a shopping center that has a Walmart. We ate at two of the three restaurants located in the mall and found others that we tried as well. Nice décor and good size comfortable rooms. Hope to return one day.

Centro de Merida
A great boutique hotel, location, decoration, and especially hotel service exceeded expectations, recommended.
Villa Mercedes Merida, Curio Collection by Hilton

Centro de Merida
This Intercontinental is rather different from usual. The location is great but was unexpected that it will be just along the noisy street in an ancient building which before used to be another hotel. So it is rather old (in perception not in amenities). The rooms are specific but good and comfortable. We've checked the Hyatt which is right after the corner but that Hyatt is luxury and as everywhere. And this Intercontinental is special - you feel as if you are in colonial times. The hotel is narrow (in corridors). The open door pool is tiny. The breakfast selection is good but not so wide. So general impression is very good. The personnel is very friendly but not so much and good speaking English. So some time we needed in order to adopt ourselves to this experience but generally we are pretty much satisfied. We've stayed here for 8 night so can judge. :-).
Wyndham Merida

This Wyndham in the heart of Merida was overall very nice with a superb staff on hand. A few snafus to mention… I am handicapped and their own ADA rooms are on the fourth floor. Who know whose idea that was! There is one elevator on each side of the hotel, and if the elevator is out, and you are on the fourth floor, you have to take the stairs because there is no connection to the other side of the building. So… of course, on our second day, both elevators were out. We requested that they move us to a room on the 1st floor. When we returned from our day’s activities, all of our stuff was moved to a new room, even though that room was not an ADA room. All good right? Not quite, as we are getting ready to head out that evening, we see a puddle of water in the bathroom…turns out there was a leak from the base of the toilet. The staff once again helped us to move to another room on the first floor. Overall, it’s also a well-kept hotel. But the building is quite old and could use some repairs. We ate at their restaurant only once, and it was not Wyndham quality food. Their brunch is a whopping 350 pesos, which given the food quality, is extremely overpriced. For breakfast, we strongly recommend going to the very nearby Flores Café. The rooms are nice; our first (ADA) room was actually larger than the room we were assigned on the first floor. The best part about the hotel was the staff. Extremely helpful and apologetic about the elevator situation. I give this hotel overall 4 stars; 5 for service; 3 for the ADA situation and 3 for the food.
NH Collection Merida Paseo Montejo

Centro de Merida
NH Collection is a modern, trendy hotel located near Merida Centro. The restaurant provides paid breakfast which is quite tasty, and as world travelers, we have found no finer dining service than that provided by our most attentive, courteous and genuinely kind server, Ezekuiel! The General Manager truly cares about the guest experience and stopped by our table to inquire as to our stay. Not many of the front desk staff speak English. However, Elmer (the bellhop) served as a welcomed translator during our 16-day stay.
