This hotel was very nice with an impressive lobby and was right on the beach. You just walk outside and down a short set of stairs, and you are on the beach. The room was a good size with plenty of space, a desk, a chair, an additional comfortable chair and footstool and enough closet space and a safe. The bathroom was a good size, and everything looked new and clean. The balcony overlooking the water was very nice as well, of course. We were with a group and ate breakfast and dinner here. The breakfast buffet was great with plenty of choices. Dinner was also very good with an amazing cannoli dessert. The beach is a rock beach and so you’ll need shoes to walk on it – but it is very beautiful.

Really nice hotel on the beach in Sicily. Rooms clean and spacious and serviced everyday. Staff very friendly and helpful. Fantastic courtesy bus service to Taormina and return. Salvadore was a great driver and gentleman. Did a boat trip and jet ski which hotel staff organised from the beach.

I’ve got to say we were delightfully surprised by this hotel. We booked this place as it was nearby to where we booked our wedding. Travelling with my now husband and our nearly 2 year old. From the minute of walking through the doors we saw how truly nice and special this place was. We just booked a standard room, we were located on the ground floor and the room was a lot bigger than we expected. It was nice and peaceful even being so close to reception in room 112. It was clean, comfortable, well air conditioned. Was just what we needed. We had breakfast included in our price which was continental but had scrambled eggs, bacon, range of cheeses and meats including ricotta. Cereals, pasties and cakes all of the above was of a great standard. You could eat inside or out. The staff in the dining room are even better, gianluca, Gianfrano the waiters and the manager fabrizio. And a lovely lady with short dark hair was amazing with our son, They really made us feel welcome and special, they couldn’t do enough for us. So professional and friendly. We also spent an evening in the restaurant which the food was fantastic. Again great service here too! The beautiful garden and surroundings of the hotel are so picturesque. Nice big pool area including a kids pool. We also spent some time down by the beach bar which was relaxing and I have to mention how lovely the ladies down at the reception area of the beach/shop. Giulia and Maria, so lovely, friendly and helpful. The lobby bar was brilliant Adriano made us feel right at home, so friendly, welcoming and looked after our son if we needed milk warming up, no matter what time of day. The shuttle service from this hotel is fantastic, you pre book your shuttle up and down from Taormina. It’s free too! We loved Salvatore! He made us smile, he was lovely, helpful and genuine. We miss him already!! I have to say, the staff here are a real main reason we would want to come stay again. We live in Sheffield in England but my new husband is originally from Catania, we normally would stay with family but after this trip I know we will be back. Don’t waste any more money staying anywhere else, this hotel offers everything you want and need. Thank you for having us Hotel Caparena! See you again one day I’m sure! Thank you for making our trip for our wedding so special, for the lovely congratulations. You went above and beyond our expectations.

This is an outdated hotel with a very very beautiful garden and surroundings. Ideally located and excellent use of space but needs refurbishment. Bathrooms are renovated but the rest of the room is outdated. Some areas are quite dirty (corridors - awful carpet) and spa

It does not live up to the 4 stars. It has a nice location and the beach and water is nice. The restaurant serves horrible food that we had to send back. You must have a car to even go 100m from the hotel. The beach restaurant is a no go because very limited selection and the staff on the beach are very rude. It costs extra to rent towels and the beach chairs in front row costs 25 euros per person and the other ones in a good spot are always “reserved”. Our room smelled like mold and ha a big spot in the celing. Absolutely no Wi-Fi in the rooms and the air condition doesn’t work, you can’t get less then 25 degrees. The breakfast had no diversity and you get tired of it after a few days.

We spent several nights and had breakfast and dinner here. The room was nice and included a small balcony which was great. The fridge in the room did nit cool the contents and getting ice was a huge challenge. Breakfast was OK, coffee was a huge disappointment, machine style instant, the fresh OJ was wonderful. The pastries were very good, the hot buffet items not so much. Dinner was pretty good, there are definitely better options in town. Being beach front was really nice as was the pool. All of the outdoor space was really lovely. The hotel has a spa, and I had an excellent massage. The shuttle into Taormina was really convenient, but we weren't always able to get our preferred time and wished for additional times. The bar was frequently without a bar tender, there were no hours posted, but we expected better service. Overall decent experience that with a few tweaks could be much better

Beautiful nature and surroundings. The same breakfast every day. Very calcareous water. NO buffet for dinner!! Very expensive drinking water and cocktails. I do not recommend taking it. The wine is also alcoholic. When checking out, they added a mysterious 12 euros to the bill. The location is not good. The nearest city is Taormina. I definitely do not recommend it to young people. There are no events.

Hays travel were the only travel company who would bend to our needs. That was a hotel, half board for 2 weeks and then a delayed return flight of one week so we could sail around the volcanic islands north of Sicily. Lovely country Sicily, the people, if you try their lingo, they love it and help and encourage you contantly. The Hotel Caparena was chosen because it was half way between the airport and marina we sailed from. What a fabulous hotel it was too, we shall return. Quite small with plenty of staff. The premises were immaculate, the buffet breakfast suited everyones needs and the dinner was 4 courses of food that I have not experienced before, so Italian/Sicilian. The menu lasted for two nights only and then completely replaced. In the two weeks the menus were never repeated in the same order. We were the only English there which is probably why the standard was so high, full of italians so it was. Never saw a chip or french frie! Beach excellent, lifeguards too. There was a free hotel bus to the nearest town, Taomina, what a beautiful town, it made our home City of York look sad. We used the local trains as well, easy when Italian and English is spoken on the tannoy system. Great hotel, great country, well worth the visit

We stayed at the Caparena the last week of April, the hotel is taken care of down to the smallest details, large and very clean rooms. Direct access to the beach with the possibility of taking sunbeds and umbrellas. Special mention to the restaurant, really excellent food from breakfast to dinner. A special thanks to the maitre Fabrizio and all his staff, all always very kind and helpful. Certainly worthy of mention is the Chef who worked in every way to satisfy the needs of the 1 year old, preparing specially off-menu dishes. We will definitely be back.

We stayed as a couple for 8 nights on site in a very nice room with balcony overlooking the pool and half board. What a great time spent in this hotel Romanticism, sun and tranquility are the first words that come to mind. First of all, the rooms: spacious, well maintained, quiet, good bedding; no problem with the swimming pool, it closes at 6 p.m. so no noise there 😀, safe and bathtub. If you have a car, parking is possible; but not insured if the hotel is full A small car will be preferable Don’t miss out on the half board; the breakfast is quality but it’s especially the dinner that is enormous! At the hotel restaurant for 1/2 of the week then at the beach restaurant for the rest of the week, and there, the vacation takes on its full meaning. The quality of the dishes is high and the menu changes every 3 days. It’s really fantastic and the view is magnificent. The beach is private with deckchairs and pretty good lunchtime catering; especially the daily specials; approx 14 euros The beach is black sand / pebbles, well maintained. The beach and the view are really good; socks/insoles or plastic shoes required; street sellers come by regularly if you don't come with them. Treat yourself to cocktails; aperol, campari or limoncello spritz or other cocktails, glasses of wine; the prices are not excessive A small bar fridge is present in the room (corridor); allows you to store a few bottles/food A free shuttle from the hotel will take you (A/R) to Taormina; at the foot of the Messina gate; top ! , a real plus, don't go there by car Excursions from the hotel: mini cruise Taormina / Isola Bella: very good; 1h30 Etna excursion at 3000m with bus / cable car then shuttle; to do We visited Messina on our own; forget ; very complicated to park and not much to see 2 last things -The staff of the Caparena hotel is its real strength; so many kind and careful people, we feel at home! And all the vegetation is magnificent and well maintained; baobabs, chorezia... -the train passes not far from the hotel but it didn't bother us that much. As for the road that runs along the seaside, it is not far; fortunately, the soundproofing is well done Conclusion: Caparena is a very beautiful destination; we cannot remain insensitive to its charm. We stayed for a week with half board in the Caparena hotel on the beach in Taormina. The hotel has retained an old, slightly outdated charm which suits it well and suspends time. I can only recommend this hotel for many reasons: Large room, clean, quiet, large bed with good bedding, bathroom shower with very good pressure and toiletries replenished regularly. The balcony with sea view is great. I absolutely recommend choosing a sea view room on the 1st or 2nd floor. The beach is large with gray sand and small pebbles at the water's edge (I recommend Riviere slippers for more swimming comfort). The deckchairs are comfortable and plentiful, they are free but it is preferable to bring your towel because those in the hotel cost money. The breakfast buffet is correct, for the half-board dinner you are entitled to 3 courses with 4 options each time. The menu changes every 3 days. These are Sicilian specialties cooked with care. What is most remarkable about this hotel is the professionalism, sympathy and kindness of the staff. They are really adorable and bend over backwards to help you whether at the reception, at the beach or in the restaurant. I would particularly like to thank Gianluca, waiter at the restaurant, who always takes great care of you.

The hotel is right on Caparena beach. The shuttle service that runs to the center of Taormina until late is very convenient. The external part of the hotel is very beautiful, very well looked after: garden, beach and pool area. The rooms need to be reviewed: we had two rooms on the ground floor, rather obsolete: I would invest in a minimum of restyling. Overall very satisfying experience

Excellent experience. Very friendly and efficient staff. Rather rich breakfast. Large room. Excellent cleaning service. Private beach and parking complete this hotel well. The only flaw is the very weak Wi-Fi in the room on the ground floor and the inability to receive or make phone calls from your cell phone. Still, excellent hotel

Pretty hotel hotel on the beach ideal for visits to Taormina or Etna. The restaurant is also nice. Lots of services, beach, swimming pool, shuttle to the village of Taormina. The service and staff are pleasant. Of course some small flaws, the railway line and perhaps ultimately a little lack of charm but it remains a good place.
