My sisters and I stayed here while our mom was in the UofL Hospital nearby. The front desk staff was very accommodating. We had a king suite and it was well stocked with dishes, full size fridge, microwave, etc. The suite was spacious. The hotel was pet friendly, which allowed us to take care of our diabetic dog.

Plus side the room was clean. Downside the breakfast was atrocious! Only options were oatmeal or waffles. 2 stale looking slices of bread. No eggs or other proteins. The attendant was too busy texting on her phone to acknowledge guests. Have been a fan of Home2 Suites but the last couple of visits have been very disappointing!

This was my first time in a home2suites. I was fairly impressed. The room was somewhat sparse, mostly with curtains instead of doors, but it was, technically, a suite, with a full sized refrigerator and microwave, a complete set of dishes and glasses, a dishwasher, and a small coffee maker. There was a living/work area, separated by a curtain from the bed area, and the bathroom was clean and adequately appointed. They do need to update the carpeting, though. The neighborhood seemed fine, if not overly quiet. It is within easy walking distance to Rabbit Hole Bourbon distillery, and there is a small seafood restaurant of uncertain quality across the street. Parking in their parking lot was $15, so I parked on the street. I did not see a significant difference in security. All-in-all, a 4 for the price that I paid for a city hotel.

OK first of all Ms. Joy at the front desk is just that... A Joy. Always helpful w a smile. The hotel is located downtown and close to shops and restaurants.. Like any downtown hotel you will have some homeless around, but I never felt threatened... Great place to walk to things

Currently staying for our second and last night. The hotel doesn't seem very old but is showing signs of wear and tear that could easily be repaired with a clean or a little paint. We were disappointed with our experience here, and I'll try to be succinct. Rooms: sticky remotes and streaky windows and doors. Glassware not clean. Dirt under and around the bed. The 5th floor hallway smells like *********. Hallways and elevators clean. Breakfast: Sunday morning we came down at 9:30, but no food was being added to the little that remained (closed at 10, people still coming down to eat). 1 bagel, no eggs, a few sausage patties, a few yogurts. The worker was wearing earphones and actively ignored people looking to eat. I had to ask for more plates. Everything was shut down and put away by 9:58. Coffee station neglected and when someone asked for more cups the front desk woman took out one. This should be fully stocked at all times, baffling why it isn't. Lobby: the nice couches and throw pillows have been neglected, would be so much nice if surfaces were wiped down and throw pillows plumped up and arranged nicely. Would take mere moments to do but would add so much to the atmosphere. Front desk staff: vacant stares watching TV as you come and go. I called down on the second morning to ask for fresh towels (as suggested by the sticker on the bathroom mirror to just ask for what we need) and I was told we'd already been given towels and an extra pillow so we couldn't have more. Um. Ok. Pool: tiny. No hot tub but there would have been room to have one installed at the time of construction. Strange. Housekeeping staff seem overworked and it shows in the little details in the room. Front desk staff are actually rude and dismissive. Kitchen staff are comically uninterested in doing anything above the bare minimum. If this were my hotel I would be shocked and furious. Corporate needs to come a look at what's being done to their hotel in this prime Louisville location.

We staid with another couple in the hotel for a couple of nights. From the moment we checked in the experience was dismal. The room we were assigned was very dated and dirty. The temperature was in the high 70s thinking it was the away function we dropped our bags and went out for the day. Upon returning late that night the temp was the same, again thinking it was the away function we went to bed… turns out the air conditioning was broken. After a horrible night of sleep I went to ask if it could be fixed. The staff moved us to another room which had a working air conditioner. This room was extremely dirty, hair on chairs, sinks and counters, stained carpet and furnishings and dirt on about everything. Socks on our feet turned black after walking in the room forcing us to wear shoes. Upon talking to the management they apologized and agreed to refund. Nearly 2 months later and 3 calls to corporate we are still waiting even though the hotel is claiming it has been processed. If you are looking to eat breakfast at the hotel plan otherwise. Food was beyond stale and I could have broken windows with the hard rolls on the breakfast sandwich. Silverware and plates were not clean and had old food on them. I am a diamond with Hilton and a lifetime platinum with Marriott, this was by far the worst chain hotel I have ever stayed in.

Stayed from July 14-16, 2023. Was in town for a family reunion. I knew that the hotel was dog friendly, and they were in abundance. I stayed in room #421 and during the night I was awakened due to itching after having been bitten by bedbugs. I found bedbugs crawling on the sheet and took pictures to show the manager. i was covered with bites and eventually broke out in hives. I was treated when I returned home and was told that I was allergic to the bites and also that due to the presents of dogs I might have been exposed to ticks. The manager, Mr. DeVeener Books was very unsympathetic and never reached out to me about this unfortunate incident. All I asked was to be refunded the full amount charged to my card, instead they only gave me part of it. Will not be doing business with them again.

The hotel is located in a bad part of town. Parts of the surroundings are being renovated and look nice, but other nearby parts are in bad shape with homeless all around. Several homeless people walk around the hotel. The hotel always has every entrance locked and you can only get in with your keycard. Gives you an idea of the surroundings. The floors are too thin. It sounded like the neighbors above us were constantly running around. We contacted the front desk 3x about this. Other family members in another room did the same. The front desk said they kept warning the people above us, but no other action was taken. Around midnight, the noise began again. The ceiling in our shower leaked water from the room above us. Our bathroom sink drain was stopped up. Our family members in another room said their bathtub drain was stopped up. Though there's a parking lot next to the hotel, you're expected to pay about $20 (includes fees) each day for parking. While the beds and furniture were comfortable, our experience was disappointing.
