The complimentary breakfast was excellent, but the one waitress in charge of serving and bussing the entire room was overworked. The light switches in the guestrooms were obnoxious because it was not possible to control individual lights. The entire room was connected to one switch. I could not even control the bedside lamp without turning on the entire room, including the overhead and the lamp on the other side of the bed. It's much better to give guests control over individual lights. There was a problem with our first room (which I will not discuss here). Fortunately the night manager moved us to an alternate room immediately, no questions asked. This was very nice, especially since it was a large suite. This particular hotel is in one of the nicest and most expensive neighborhoods in London, so we felt safe. Still, sometimes vehicle noise from the avenues below was loud. On the upside, it was within walking distance to many of the major London sites. Finally, at times the hotel seemed understaffed. For example, I put my finished room-service tray outside the room, and almost 24 hours later it was still there. All in all, a classy place with good interior design, in a very nice part of town, close to most of the prime tourist destinations.
