Leicester Hotels with Pools

As a hotel owner I’m always very sceptical when staying elsewhere. The Ramada Encore was spotless, something which is usually a major concern for me. The bed was comfortable, the shower was lovely with great water pressure. Check-in and check-out were seamless, staff were very friendly and accommodating regarding my late check-in and request for a later check-out. Breakfast options were great for the average person, but as someone that eats low carb I was limited, but knew this when I paid for it, plenty of food available at the buffet though. There was a little noise from drunk people passing by on the street but it was a Friday night so not the hotel’s fault and didn’t last very long. No noise whatsoever indoors. Overall, very pleased with my stay, great value for money.

Seemed very short staffed, the checkin receptionist was also the barmaid, and customers waiting at the bar were shouting at her to give them drinks whilst I was trying to check in. No toilet brush in the bathroom, also bathroom felt quite cold and the hallways of the hotel and breakfast area were cold particularly near the lifts. The wifi was extremely slow both download and upload speeds far less that 1 MBPS which is honestly no use to anyone, in this day and age is frankly absurd that a big chain like Premier Inn is deliberately offering slow wifi in order to get customer to upgrade to their premium wifi at £5 per 24 hours. The bad PR is surely not worth the £5 is it? The breakfast wasn't the best experience, there was a sign saying wait to be seated but no staff were present, so I went to get a coffee and a man ran after me demanding to know my room number, no hello, good morning, this is where everythig is etc none of that just really upset me first thing in the morning. The sausages werent great no flavour or taste, I didn't really enjoy the breakfast, no oat milk which I would normally have, but they did have soya milk. When I checked out again no staff on the desk to ask if you had a nice stay etc? The TV in my room did not work properly, on every channel the sound and picture was intermittently breaking up rendering it unwatchable. Also, I was woken up abour 4 am by an alarm going off somewhere, maybe another room or outside the hotel but I couldn't get back to sleep afterwards.

This is the hotel I stay at every time I go to Leicester. It's opposite the High Cross and the location is excellent, very convenient. It's only a ten-minute walk from Tesco. The only inconvenience is the parking lot. One day the battery was out and I couldn't get in or out, so I had to park in the High Cross parking lot, which was a long walk.

The environment and sanitation are very good, and the facilities are relatively new. It is a cost-effective hotel in Leicester, but the front desk staff may be a little hostile to Chinese, indifferent and slack. Overall, aside from the service, everything is fine.

We stayed at this hotel as a couple as we were attending an event at the rugby stadium, which is literally 30 seconds walk away. The room was absolutely spotless! Well kept and had everything we needed and more, hairdryer that actually dried my hair, iron/board, fridge, safe, kettle, even a posh coffee machine. The bathroom, well wow, it is a little small but to be honest, not too small. The shower, wow, there was a hole in the shower door so you could start the shower from the outside! It was also a handy hole for reaching my toiletries. The TV was great and room service was reasonably prices and pretty speedy! All of the staff we had contact with were friendly and looked happy to be there!! I've stayed in hotels from Fiji to Blackpool, from Glasgow to New Zealand and this rates in the top! We will definitely be staying here again.

I loved it so much I didn't want to leave. It would be my go-to place whenever I'm in Leicester again. The receptionist was lovely as well. It's easy and very much comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone.

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I was really reluctant to write this review as everyone I spoke to at the hotel during my stay was helpful and friendly, the staff there were top. However after complaining about the stay when checking out, again the woman I spoke to was lovely but said a manager would need to get in touch. It’s been four days and the owner/manager hasn’t. I gave them the opportunity to get in touch and see what went wrong, now I just need to be honest about the stay. This was the worst night sleep I ever had, in a hotel or otherwise. We paid for a suite, so one of the nicest rooms in the hotel. However from the moment we got in the room it was unbearable. The heat in the room was like being in a sauna - that isn’t an exaggeration. We went around the room to see if there were any radiators on that we didn’t spot! Unbearable. There is no air conditioning in the room just a tiny fan left on the side for us to use. That provided no relief. Maybe your thinking open a window, they are prevented from opening more than a few inches. So we were just stuck in this unbearable room with no alternative. In order to get the 2 hours sleep I did get that night. I had to get up and stand in a cold shower multiple times. This was a stop on a road trip my wife and I were having for our honeymoon. I rated all the other hotels 5 star they were amazing. This put a real downer in our otherwise perfect trip. I was embarrassed picking this hotel to stay in as one of our stops. Avoid it like the plague.

Stayed here a couple of times as it’s a great location to be near my daughter, who is at DMU. Starting with the basics, cost. I was pleasantly surprised the first time I stayed, £88 for the three of us, B&B. Having been impressed, I was somewhat disappointed this time to find an almost £30 increase in the fee. I put this down to the fact that Leicester city were at home, making the stay more expensive and creating an absolute nightmare in getting near the hotel at check in time. If I’m been honest, as an IHG member, I don’t think it unreasonable to expect a more fair and consistent pricing model as the following week, with no game, the price drops back down. Anyway, on with the review. The hotel has a good sized car park and you shouldn’t struggle for a space. Checking in is straight forward and the staff on the desk are pleasant and helpful. There are two lifts to the floors, with a rack of free magazines next to them. The rooms are quite modern, a decent size, for an “Express” hotel and whilst basic, the equipment serves its purpose. They are clean enough but maintenance needs to improve. The first time we stayed, the over bed light didn’t work and the tv picture was distorted. This time, the bathroom nightlight didn’t work and the door deadlock was inoperative. Additionally, if guests book for three, it would be good if there were three cups on the tea tray and three glasses in the bathroom as opposed to two. Room 118 if you’re curious. Back downstairs and the bar is ok, with about five draught options and Guinness, which looks like a beer tap but is actually a fancy device for dispensing it from a can. Unfortunately, as it was match day, it’s assumed that all people drinking in the bar will start throwing glasses about and as such, you are made to drink from a wobbly plastic glass. As for food, we have only experienced breakfast. A decent range of cereals Is accompanied by fruit juices, preserves, croissants, buns, fruit and toast. The “Full English” is actually bacon, sausages, baked beans and scrambled eggs and it’s here that my only real gripe kicks in. The scrambled eggs are, on the whole, vile. I think it’s probably been some time since they were near a chicken and I suspect that they are made offsite, some distance away, cooked to death, dehydrated bagged and frozen. They then taste like they are reheated, to become some kind of yellow, tasteless, watery mess that no amount of brown sauce can revive. Other than the eggs, which I’ll avoid next time, I will stay here again, although I’ll time my next visit around the football fixtures.
