3-Star Hotels in Lake Tekapo

Booked 1 night accommodation through an on-line booking site (Expedia). Unfortunately there was a problem with the booking in that they hadn't included my child in the booking so the accommodation booked (motel room) could only accommodate 2 people. Thankfully the staff were fantastic and managed to find us an alternative option for no extra cost. The cabin we stayed in was fantastic and the place has undergone a massive upgrade since we last stayed here in 2011. The cabin was clean, cosy and we had everything we needed for our staff. Great BBQ available outside of the cabin which we made use of for dinner & brekkie and location is superb. An adventure when travelling with a 6 year old as accommodation felt very safe. (lots of families around due to scholl holidays). Easy 5 min stroll to Tekapo Hot Springs. Would recommend and advise to just book directly with the accommodation rather than an on-line secondary service.

A nice place to stay. Had a lake view room with bath, which was great. Had stayed around ten year ago and it has recently been refurbished. Bed super comfy and warm. It has heating but no aircon, so would be very warm during January February unless there was a good breeze blowing. Isabella on reception went above and beyond in sorting out wifi issue that some of us guests were experiencing which turned out to be an update issue from their providers. Thanks for your calm manner and great attitude in ensuring we we were sorted out. Jacks cafe on premises is superb too. See separate review.

The hotel sign is not obvious. You need to pay attention to it to find out. Uncle Maori called me by the name and checked in for me because I stayed two nights and upgraded my suite with living room, dining room, kitchen, and 2 bedrooms. Just leave the key on the door when you leave The hotel is right next to the lake, with beautiful scenery and superb lake views, and the starry sky at night. The car is parked in the hotel, free of charge throughout the day, 🈶️ 2 queen beds, bath products, hair dryer, kettle, microwave, stove, towels, slippers, no toothpaste and toothbrush. The New Zealand steak is good, and I cook it every night for dinner. There is free coffee and tea bags, and drinking coffee every day feels good. Just walk past the Church of the Good Shepherd, just go out to the lake, and check the starry sky at the Church of the Good Shepherd at night. It ’s beautiful! It's not far to the shops and supermarkets by car, it should be 10 minutes on foot The hotel does not include breakfast. I made sandwiches myself and checked out at 10 am

We chose the upstairs family room with a view, we were not disappointed, a view straight down the lake, wow. The beds were comfortable, we had enough room for all of us, kitchen was adequate and the large bathroom was good. The lady in reception was very helpful with recommendations for dinner, breakfast, activities not just in Tekapo but around the MacKenzie Country. We have recommended this place to family and friends already, you will not be disappointed.

Perfect place to stay! Only steps away from the Good Shepherd church and walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. Steve the owner is easy going, super nice and helpful if you have any questions. I stayed in the honeymoon suite, the place is simple but it was very comfortable, fully equipped if you plan on making a few meals and very quiet. I loved waking up the the birds singing. I enjoyed my stay at the cottage. The only thing I missed was that I couldn't set up Netflix on the TV, even on vacation i like a good movie in the evening.

The room is clean and sanitary, and the kitchen tools are fully equipped. At night, you can just step out of the room and look up to watch the stars. It is close to Lake Tekapo and only takes a few minutes to drive there. There are many restaurants, gas stations and supermarkets nearby, which is very convenient.

Our Cottage offers a separate warm and cozy house which contains one bedroom,one bathroom and a separate living room. Maximum to accommodate 3 people.The cottage is situated on a large lakeside property of over 4,000 square meters. Step outside, and you are greeted by the stunning lake view right in front of you. Just beyond the yard, you'll find the legendary Lake Tekapo and the Church of the Good Shepherd. You can fully enjoy a comfortable and private living experience! Inside the house, you'll find some small items used by the first owner, still placed as they were. Time has changed the people, but the house remains, allowing you to appreciate the beauty of both life and nature.

Great little place to stay at during our visit to Lake Tekapo. With a quiet neighbourhood and beautiful views. It snowed while we were there, which was fantastic! We found the place to be nice and warm and the bed to be comfortable as well as the bathroom is great! Downsides were that some of the dishes were not clean, which put us off. Also someone had cooked curry in the microwave so it stunk out the microwave as well as half of the place smelt of curry. I would love to stay here again but expect that since a cleaning fee is paid that the placed is cleaned better.

A very comfortable little villa, close to the supermarket. The staff has a very good service attitude and will come to replenish the necessary supplies in the morning.
