Tekapo1929 Lakefront Villa

The room isn't huge, but it has a microwave and a fridge. The best part is definitely the location – Lake Tekapo is right outside, and it's just a few hundred meters walk to the Church of the Good Shepherd. Plus, you can see the Milky Way clearly just by stepping outside at night.

I really liked this room type. It had two beds separated by a partition, and the kitchen and bathroom were well-divided, keeping the wet and dry areas separate. The small courtyard offered pleasant views, and the lake was right outside. It was a convenient 5-6 minute walk to the Church of the Good Shepherd and about a 10-minute walk to the supermarket, so the location was quite good. However, I felt the host wasn't particularly enthusiastic, and their attitude towards Chinese guests seemed a bit indifferent.

This is half of a stand-alone house, offering a large space with a kitchen, so you can cook your own meals. It's right across from Lake Tekapo and very close to the Church of the Good Shepherd.

A hotel with a lot of character, and one of the few in New Zealand that includes breakfast. The location is great, with beautiful scenery, and the common lounge offers plenty of free drinks.

This was the most expensive accommodation we booked for our trip, but it was absolutely worth it. Even though the house is over a hundred years old, it's still incredibly comfortable. Lake Tekapo is right across the street, and the Church of the Good Shepherd isn't far either. Sitting in the small courtyard at night was incredibly pleasant.
