As we were traveling with two children, we opted for a two-bedroom apartment. It was very spacious and perfectly suited for a family trip. The hotel features self-service check-in, so I can't really comment on staff interactions. We completed the necessary registration via email beforehand, making check-in incredibly smooth and quick, taking only 2-3 minutes.
The hotel is located about 3-4 km from Kyoto Station, which some might consider a bit inconvenient. However, since we took a taxi, we didn't find the distance an issue. It's very close to Hanami-koji and about 2 km from the Kamo River, and the surrounding area is wonderfully quiet.
Cleanliness, as expected in Japan, was impeccable – you never have to worry about their high standards for hygiene. Our room also came with a kitchen, perfect for preparing simple meals and washing fruits.
We also had the opportunity to experience the hotel's private spa and sauna, which were also excellent.

This hotel experience was fantastic! The room was brand new and fully equipped, with the smart toilet and heated showerhead being a real plus. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and I slept soundly. The environment was quiet and elegant, with lovely greenery in the lobby and carpeted hallways, making it a peaceful retreat. The service was attentive, with prompt service at the front desk and the children's slippers provided. The housekeepers kept the room spotless every day. The location was also convenient, with restaurants and shopping nearby. The value for money was excellent, and I'll definitely be back!

I stayed here almost a week. At first when I came the room smelled of smoke or something. Something didn’t smell right so I friend on the air freshener and it was better.
The room didn’t have a chair so I had to ask for one so I can work at night. There was some dust in the corner and stains and a hair on the pillow but still relatively cleaner than some other places.
The bed is very very comfortable. Water is hot - I really liked the shower :) convenient location and small perks like happy hour etc.

Minn Gion Kamogawa Experience: Excellent Location, Value for Money
I made the right choice staying at this hotel in Kyoto! The location is impeccable—right next to the flower path, right next to the Kamogawa River, and close to Sanjo. It's incredibly convenient for commuting, visiting attractions, and shopping. You can explore so much of Kyoto on foot—a true dream for those who want to spend their leisure time.
The rooms are surprisingly spacious, especially the triple and quad rooms. They're spacious and comfortable for a group. The rooms come with a refrigerator and microwave, making them very convenient for daily use. The washer-dryer on the first floor is also very practical, costing around 500-700 yen and easy to use, making it perfect for short stays. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and worry-free.
One minor drawback is that they don't provide cleaning or trash removal within seven days. It's a bit like a self-service B&B. It's comfortable for a one- or two-day stay, but longer stays might require more effort, and extra cleaning will cost extra. But overall, the price is very reasonable, and considering the location, space and convenience, the cost-effectiveness is really high. It is worth considering visiting Kyoto!

We had a great stay! The location is good, walking distance to Yasaka Shrine, Maruyama Park and Gion district. Lots of convenience store and restaurants nearby and there is also a 24 hr supermarket. It is near the bus stop where lots of Kyoto buses pass by. The place itself was clean and huge compared to other hotels. There is a separate kitchen and bathroom area with a tub. The bedroom is huge and we could unfold our luggage and still have enough space to walk around. They have provided a clothes drying rack and washing machine with detergent. There is drip coffee provided and some tea. Highly recommended if you want to stay in Gion district and walk around the Higashiyama area in Kyoto! There are lots to do around and a lot of temples within walking distance.

The hotel is in a very good location, the rooms are clean and comfortable. It is about a 10-minute walk from 4-jo, and a 3-5-minute walk from Keihan Railway and Tozai Line, which is convenient for going to Osaka and Nara. The room area is large for Japan. It is very suitable for family travel. One day there was a small problem with the room code and the staff came to deal with it very quickly. If I come back, I will choose to continue booking.

When I first came to Kyoto, I didn't know which one to choose for a hotel. I saw the attractive price of this one, so I chose this one. After arriving, I found it very pleasant. It is 10 minutes away from Kyoto Station and the transportation is very convenient. It is very close to the Kyoto National Museum and Sanjusangendo! It is convenient for eating and shopping near the house, and there are also family convenience stores and some drugstores nearby.

GGuest UserTwo people lived in a whole Japanese-style villa ~ The room was very clean and beautiful. There were bungalows and tatami style rooms. The bathroom also had a super-class automatic bathtub. There was a comment on Expedia that the general hotel photos look better than the room, but here is the opposite. I agree too much that the actual room is much better than the photo ~, but pay attention to the checkin time to make an appointment with the store, that is, the store will send an email after placing the order. The young lady who came to pick us up checkin was very cute. It was a Chinese lady who was very good in Japanese and English. ~ It felt so good. If you missed it because there was no evaluation, it would be a pity 😆.

MMeixixiatianIn short, I redeemed the Ctrip voucher for accommodation, so the price/performance ratio is very high. The advantage is that it is very close to Kiyomizu Temple and Kamogawa River. It is very convenient to walk. The check-in front desk staff can provide Chinese services and communication is easy. The room is large and the hygiene is OK. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry, and drinking water and other facilities are complete. The disadvantage is that there is noise interference in the room. The soundproofing of the building is poor. The air conditioner's outdoor unit will be louder. When it rains, there will be noise when rainwater drips onto the ceiling next to it. If you are a light sleeper, there may be various noise interference.

PpanwdI live alone, so there is no extra bed. The room is big enough for one person, two people can also, and the suitcase can be put down. It is a toothbrush and toothpaste that you need to take it in a designated place when you go upstairs, otherwise there is no toothbrush and toothpaste in the bathroom. The best thing about this place is that it is very close to the four parts of the garden (within 10 minutes), very close to the Kiyomizu Temple, a ten-minute walk, it is convenient to go to the four and several stations, not far away (5,6 minutes) There is a supermarket, super convenient. There are many temples and shrines around.

다다운I happened to make a reservation here for a quick trip to Osaka.
I really liked that it had a Japanese feel ^^
It was great that the toilet and shower room (bathtub/bathroom style) were separate!!
It's not a kimono, but a long dress-like(?) nightgown is prepared haha.
I was very satisfied with my one night stay in Kyoto!
Breakfast is served as a full Japanese meal, but I came to find out that you have to make a reservation 3 days in advance. It's a shame I didn't get to experience it.
I definitely have to come back here on my next trip to Kyoto^^ The kids also say they like it a lot~~~

GGuest UserThis was a lovely hotel in a great location. We found Gion the most convenient place to stay to explore Kyoto, with a metro within 10 minutes walk away.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and often went out their way to assist and support us. They had given our honeymoon stay extra thought and gave us a small welcome bag.
We particularly loved the amenities station and would definitely recommend a stay here!

GGuest UserWhat needs to be improved:
1. The check-in address of the house and the address of the house are not the same place, and they are far apart; for tourists who do not understand Japanese, many problems are added. When we arrived that night, we couldn't find where to check in, which caused a lot of time delay;
2. We have made an appointment for the garbage cleaning service, but we went around and came back and found that the garbage was still piled up at home, and the service was bad;
3. About the facilities: The toilet and bathroom do not have heating facilities. I contacted for a long time and brought a heating facility. Shouldn't the room facilities be checked from time to time?
4. The overall feeling is very general. Friends who are more concerned about the above issues can consider carefully.
