Tassel Hotel Sanjo Shirakawa

Love the hotel, great location to visit Kyoto. The staff are very friendly and helpful.room is very clean. I'm surprised how spacious the room is. Will come back again!

Small hotel with a lot of things to love: modern and well designed rooms, very nice staff, absolutely perfect location (you see the Shirakawa Canal from most rooms, the subway station is directly beside the hotel and you only walk around 10' to the Yasaka Shrine). And it´s very nice to grab a hot coffee or cool water during the day or a local alcoholic beverage at night for free in the lobby!

A fabulous hotel. Really helpful staff, comfy beds. Evening perk, free alcohol and snacks in the lounge! Only downside? Not. Enough drawer space but that might be standard in Japanese hotel. Would definitely return and recommend

We loved our stay at this stylish small hotel. Our corner room was spacious, with sensational views over the city, hills and Shirakawa River. The bed was firm, the shower strong and the amenities were decent for our five night stay. One of the things we liked most about the hotel was its lobby and lounge area, with picture windows taking in the river and autumn leaves and books to enjoy on a cold afternoon. It had such a calm atmosphere. Breakfast was served here (delicious and good value at 1500 per person), as was complimentary tea and coffee during the day and drinks in the evening, which we enjoyed before heading out to dinner. The staff were really nice and so helpful, and we liked that it was in a quiet part of Kyoto, yet close to various sights and restaurants and right next to a subway station making it easy to get around. Highly recommended.
